  1. My favorite non-ride is Millennium Force because it's really just a tour of Ohio.
  2. They'd probably rather do this so less people will use the dining plan for a second meal.
  3. We haven't seen much from this new leadership yet, but annoying cuts wherever possible seem to be the name-of-the-game thus far.
  4. Houdini and Peoplemover are clearly rides. lol The only time I ever bought a ticket to go to a park specifically for something that wasn't a ride was in September to go and see Happily Ever After. I actually did this twice. Now that it's no longer a thing, I guess some of my favorite theme park shows off the top of my head are Illuminations at Disneyland Paris, The Bourne Stuntacular, Harmonious and basically any animal show. I haven't seen Enchantment yet and won't comment on it. Aside from that and seasonal things like haunt mazes or Christmas lights (like Great Adventure's tree, the BGT Light Tunnel, etc), animal exhibits come to mind. The Hippo at BGT, the trails at DAK, Pacific Point at SWO, the Wolves at BGW... those are all highlights for me. I guess restaurants and bars should also be included here but I'm not going to do that or this will go on forever.
  5. I cleaned this thread up a bit. Chill out. It's not that serious...
  6. Yes, the update is that it's going to Cotaland, which is not MOA.
  7. The Dollywood and Silver Dollar City threads are always the biggest shitshows. Not sure why... maybe you people need a drink. Oh, wait...
  8. I was just looking at the section up top. Based on that, they probably mean “Magic of Lights” and they’re just dumb.
  9. There’s some more fuel to the fire of the rumor that the new leadership is removing Holiday in the Park in many locations. The chain has removed Holiday in the Park as a pass and membership benefit from select parks. I wouldn’t normally read into this, but since these are the parks rumored to lose it anyway, it’s very-much worth noting. Credit for discovering this goes to “avocadotoastdevil” on Reddit. Comparing the 2022 Basic Season Pass for each park. https://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/store/tickets Includes Both Fright Fest and Holiday in the Park at Six Flags Great Adventure https://www.sixflags.com/greatamerica/store/tickets Includes Admission to Fright Fest at Six Flags Great America https://www.sixflags.com/newengland/store/tickets Includes Admission to Fright Fest at Six Flags New England https://www.sixflags.com/stlouis/store/tickets Includes Admission to Fright Fest at Six Flags St. Louis https://www.sixflags.com/america/store/tickets Includes Admission to Fright Fest at Six Flags America —— Basically, the chain is rumored to be removing the event from every park in an even-slightly northern part of the country aside from Six Flags Great Adventure. As a fan, I obviously hate this move a lot. I don’t see the numbers though and they do so it’s hard to really comment too much on it. It’s a shame though…
  10. On occasion some days during Christmas week can get busy but most likely it won’t be needed.
  11. … annual reminder that this ride is a brick shithouse and the day that it closes for temperature is the day that hell freezes over. Am I posting this because I’m 10 minutes from Carowinds, they’re predicting seven consecutive days over 70 degrees and Fury is closed and it annoys me? The world may never know…
  12. After 357 postponements, we're hoping to actually have a wedding next year but we've said that for... how many years now? Initially we were planning on a honeymoon in Europe but at this point we're probably avoiding international travel so we might push that out another year since nothing matters anymore anyway, If and when that happens, it will be 99%-not-a-coaster-trip since it's a honeymoon but I'll totally throw just one park in somewhere. Most likely though, we're staying domestic because it's easier with travel. We have Disney World APs for the first time, and since we were forced to buy the most expensive pass since we're out-of-state we're using them a ton to get our money's worth. Aside from tons of Orlando trips, we've also booked a quick weekend trip in early February to Fiesta and SFOT and a fall LA trip to hit Scary Farm, HHN, Disneyland, Magic Mountain and finally get to Dodger Stadium. That's all we have so far, but more trips are in our future for sure.
  13. Yes. They’re removing 3 adult flats for swings and 7 kiddy rides. Also, “Hit or miss” is a generous way to put it with Palace.
  14. This is great news because now I’m going to save a lot of money by not going there ever.
  15. Track pieces for a new coaster are apparently on site. Source: oshyriomitsuko
  16. I wouldn’t get excited about any of that. It’s code for “We fired tons of people right before Christmas all over the chain and we’re trying to put a positive spin on it”.
  17. ^ Saturday was awesome. It also came together last minute which made it even better. Like 48 hours prior, my plan was to drop Brit at the airport in NYC and then brave the sea of humanity doing Christmas shopping that day in the rain. The next day, she was flying out of Philly for $300 less and I was totally-not using that as an excuse to swing by Six Flags for a ride or two if the rain held off. The next day Boldy was down, it totally wasn’t going to rain and we had some bangin’ cheesesteaks in Philly and then rode Jersey Devil and Nitro like 800 times each in an empty park. Good times. I love Holiday in the Park. We should cancel Fright Fest and start it in September every year.
  18. You can see it in the video too in that final swing. It absolutely derailed.
  19. Here's the video of the valley caused by the derailment: If Google Translate is to be trusted, they're saying that the ride did not derail and it was caused by an electrical failure. This could be an interesting story to watch...
  20. I guess define "moderately reliable". It's been closed for months now. lol
  21. Yesterday was fantastic. There was a threat of rain listed for Saturday all week, yesterday every app was showing “rain” but when you opened up the hour by hour it was basically perfect for the operating hours. It did most a bit, but the forecast kept everyone away. I lost count of how many rides we got on Nitro and “The JDC” (ride ops, stop trying to make that a thing) I’ve never seen Nitro run that fast for Holiday in the Park.
  22. I just want to bump this to say that I probably underestimated the legitimacy of those posts considering the post counts, and I apologize for that. The more I hear, the more I think it’s entirely plausible.
  23. Zamperla has posted an update on Facebook of the log flume construction site where there will apparently also be a coaster or whatever… (They posted it as a collage, so this is as big as the photos get. Sorry)
  24. Sandy's refurb has been pushed out another month. The ride is clearly f*cked in spectacular fashion...
  25. Edit: You know what? The more I hear, the more I believe that this is entirely all plausible.
