That's not true but they also don't communicate that very well. I also wrote the wrong times on my last post but edited it. Book slinky at 7, book Falcon at 9. You can make another reservation either 2 hours after you make your reservation, or once you use your Lightning Lane reservation, whichever is first. There is no way to get Rise most days unless you're staying on property. There's nothing you could have done there because you can't buy the single skips until 9am if you're not a resort guest but you can reserve the first normal LL ride at 7.

If they remove this thing entirely in a few years I couldn’t even be mad about it. -

This is a new one for me, not gonna lie. Other than Banshee I don’t think I’ve ever been on a B&M invert that wasn’t butter smooth even on empty trains (other than a few Raptor jolts that I’ve come to love). With Banshee, it just depends on the day. We had an incredible back row ride this year, but in the past whenever I’ve been put back there it’s been pretty jackhammery. Lol -
Adventureland Long Island!

I haven’t been on one of these and haven’t heard great things, but I will say that the fact that this park was able to find space for a third “adult” coaster of ANY size without removing anything of value is an accomplishment since the park is smaller than a Target. -
Adventureland Long Island!

New Coaster Coming to Adventureland new roller coaster called FireBall is coming to Adventureland this spring to help celebrate the park's 60th anniversary. The family ride will be a vertical coaster, with curves that make riders feel they are falling off the edge of a cliff, giving them "a thrilling sensation," says Steve Gentile, co-owner and president of Adventureland in Farmingdale. Its supports are red and yellow, and three gondola cars each seat two pairs of riders back to back. Riders will have to be at least 41 inches tall to ride with an adult, typically 5 to 7 years old, Gentile says. "This is the first one in North America," Gentile says of the FireBall. It was custom made for Adventureland by a company in Switzerland, and its name is trademarked, Gentile says. To make room for the ride, the park is retiring the kiddie carousel and the bungee jump, Gentile says. The new ride, which cost the park $1.5 million, will be included in the park admission fee. It is the third roller coaster at the park, joining the Rattlesnake and Turbulence, which debuted in 2015. Source: Newsday -
Kennywood (KW) Discussion Thread

“Hey we’re removing 3 classic rides and closing another one for a year” - Everyone hates Kennywood “Hey, we’re removing 4 classic rides… oh, just kidding we’re only removing 3 classic rides and closing one for a year” - Yay, we love you Kennywood It’s impressive PR, and I’m probably being more biased than I should be because I don’t like that company but I’m really not giving them a cookie for this. -

Nah… That said, I don’t buy that for a second. They’re probably just teasing the removal of like 5 more rides or something (or announcing what six days Steel Curtain will operate next season). -
Congrats to Austin on having the world's first coaster made entirely out of sluts... Also, I've never heard of this place makes sense since they apparently opened last fall and haven't updated their website since before they opened or any of their social media pages since February. I would have assumed that they were out of business. This whole thing is weird...

- It's more akin to Cedar Fair's system. Hop in line whenever you want. Because of that, it just totally depends what lines will be long even with Express. I feel like I've always had bad luck with Gringotts though but that could just be me. The merge is fine, but the line is always long. I can't really think of a ride with a bad merge. - Not sure about the parade - Rope drop Hagrid's. - They both have single rider queues.

I've never flown Spirit but like low cost carriers. It's still a different mindset from a theme park though and I would hold the theme park to much higher standards. Spirit and Frontier are things that you suffer through for a few hours because it's worth it to then have a great time in a place that has nothing to do with them. I actually want a theme park to be an enjoyable experience. Now, all of that said I feel like people are always too quick to just assume that a CEO coming from another company will make the new company exactly like the old company. I know that's not true at all, so I'll give the benefit of the doubt but I'm still going to laugh... hard.

Oh well, now you just need to come back. If you love it, consider the annual pass in the future. It basically pays for itself in two visits. Consolation prize: River Adventure is open and it's fun and you should ride it. No poncho needed for that one. lol I also have this strange glimmer of hope for you that they'll realize that there's no reason to close Mummy on a Friday and not the following Monday but I probably just threw that out into the world to give you hope and then crush your dreams.
-
Is there like… any way you can switch it to 1/6? If you're in Orlando on 1/6 and just doing another park, switch it because Mummy closes until late summer starting 1/7. If you're not then Mummy sucks anyway and you're not missing much and I'm totally not just telling you that to make you feel better, Nope... not this guy,

With Express passes, not a ton of strategy is needed. Rope drop Hagrid's, then go to Velocicoaster... otherwise ride whatever you want to ride. For the dark rides, even with express you can skip Fallon and Fast and the Furious. Fast and the Furious is terrible and there are 800 pre-shows so it will take forever. You can also skip Shrek if it's not closed forever by then. For the other dark rides, some have their fans and some have their haters but I'd say with Express you should just do them all and make up your own mind. Do NOT under any circumstances skip Forbidden Journey, Spiderman or Gringotts but I mean... duh. Things like Cat in the Hat, Simpsons, Minions and Shrek are probably skippable if you want to ride Velocicoaster more but they have their fans. Ride ET or I'll block you. For the water rides, ride River Adventure if it's open but it probably won't be depending on when you're going (it's closed 1/10 - 1/28/22). You won't get that wet and it's very good. Ripsaw Falls and Popeye & Bluto’s Bilge-Rat Barges are good rides but you will absolutely drown. I love log flumes, I don't ride Ripsaw Falls because you drown. If you want to ride them, they sell ponchos and there is no shame in buying them. The Bourne Stuntacular is a tough sell to anyone who only has one day but it's fantastic even if you're like me and you couldn't pay me to watch those movies or really most action movies. Also, when is your trip. Is it before or after 1/7... asking for a friend. My friend's name is Brendan Fraser and he really needs a cup of coffee.

So we went to the park yesterday. Apparently they have some kind of sliding scale weather limit for it and I’d consider it a bonus any day it actually opens for this event. Last night it was 42 degrees and closed for wind, but Skyway was operating. The colder it is, the lower the wind limit and it gets down to the point where any kind of breeze at all, they won’t start it. Just go in expecting it to be closed and be pleasantly surprised when it opens.

It looks like Jersey Devil will be the first ride in park history with any kind of temperature limit. ... either that or they'll just throw this up outside the ride whenever it breaks so people don't question it since it spends like 50% of it's life broken. My honest prediction is that they lay down sod (or put in a sitting area), keep the bridge and the cute little station and put a sitting area or something in there and then leave it as-is for years. They're probably much more interested in developing the Wicked Twister area, This was probably a cost-cutting move for a ride that they don't need that's always the first thing in the park to close for staffing anyway. I'm sure it will become something eventually, but I don't really see them plopping down 4 coasters in a row with zero flat rides between them so I'm not all that excited about it. This is going to save them a lot of money and barely anyone will care so what's the rush?
