What are they going to do? Sabotage the park by opening it like 6 months later in the year than the Busch park down the road and remove their most popular coaster and replace it with nothing? That would be ridicu.... oh

In all seriousness, I see nothing not to like here. Both chains are similar levels of quality (see: they're both clusterfucks) and both actually compliment eachother's weaknesses reasonably well. I doubt there would be much of a noticeable change from a guest perspective other than probably more aggressive operating calendars (especially at parks like CGA and Carowinds) and some coasters actually running after October. I would love for someone to explain to be how SEAS is any more f*cked up than Cedar Fair though aside from the total fanboy answer of "THEY OPENED ORION ON TIME!!!1111" or whatever that doesn't matter going forward... If they turned down a 4 billion dollar offer from SIX in 2019 and accept a 3.4 billion dollar offer in 2022 then l...o...f*cking...l though.

If Encanto isn't turned into a musical, I'll be shocked.

Theme parks and coasters in the snow

Where’s the lie? -
So you think that they’re going to build a worse hypercoaster right next to their much-better hypercoaster right in front of the park that’s been there for years? What kind of idiotic and probably supremely-overhyped park would do something like that? While they’re doing dumb shit, why don’t they just move the drop tower from Darien Lake too and put it right next to their other one? At this point just throw all logic out the window…

To be fair, if the park were planning to remove Ride of Steel but plans aren't finalized or it's not for the 2022 season they would say exactly what they just said on Twitter even if it's bullsh*t. What the park said should be given almost no weight whatsoever because regardless of their plan, of course that's what they would say. That said, it's still a stupid rumor and it's probably never happening. It strikes me as something fed to Screamscape by a troll. My point is not that it should be given any legitimacy, just that the park's Tweet means nothing. The thing that should talk people off of the ledge is their own common sense, not the park's Tweet. Also here's an exhaustive list of Six Flags Parks that don't have a hypercoaster or ridiculously strict height limits and asshole neighbors: - Frontier City where they have no room for that thing. - Six Flags Fiesta Texas but where the hell are they fitting that thing? - Six Flags St. Louis but give me a f*cking break... The ride is obnoxiously huge with obnoxiously huge helixes that take up tons of room for no reason. Everything is low to the ground so it can't fit over anything unless you raise the entire thing way up in the air. There are only two parks in the chain where it could even go and it would take up a ridiculous chunk of their parking lots. They are on crack.

Yeah, I'm totally not hating on the place I'm just 100% not the target market. I still feel like we'll end up there at some point though since it's the closest park of any kind to our house by far. -

The season will now run through the end of December. Opening Day is April 8th. This park is like 30 minutes from me and I've still never bothered to go. Let's see if we keep that tradition alive... -

I’m glad that they’re taking care of it, just don’t mess it up. -

Don’t knock it until you try it. Coasters aren’t as cold as you think if you avoid row one. Sky Screamer and Wonder Woman are a million times worse. -
PSA: Anyone planning a trip from any significant distance should check the refurb schedule. For the first few preview days, Montu will be closed and Sheikra will be closed through the beginning of March. If you don't live nearby and don't feel the need to be first, it's really not the ideal time to visit (especially that first week with both Montu and Sheikra down).

I'd much rather go to Great Adventure when it's 35 degrees than 100 degrees. 100% No question...
