  1. I absolutely know people at Great Adventure who spend like 50 cents per meal by the end of the season but then there are people like us who usually don't even use all of the meal credits on a given day and go like 10 times a season where they're probably making a killing. It depends. If you go to a park with a Go Fresh Cafe or something you could eat healthy food. It would still taste like shit but if you're a broke college kid and the plan is to eat healthy for 30 cents a day and maybe you look at the fact that you have to walk so far there and back to get it as bonus exercise I guess it's viable for a select few people. Honestly after reading the article, this guy's idea was pretty solid in his situation (a broke guy right out of college with crazy student loan debt who liked coasters anyway who worked 5 minutes away from a park open 365 days a year) as long as he didn't just eat fried shit all day every day and it sounds like he tried to eat the healthier stuff after the first year. lol I can't hate on this at all. I tried. Going into that article I totally planned on it but actually I just have to give him props.
  2. That's not a bad point. Lake Compounce has a history of opening rides for the season in the fall right before they close. This is also the type of ride where you could run one train and really piss everyone off so it would go well there.
  3. It should also be noted that some levels of membership do include free haunt mazes. We went through one the other night and just scanned our pass.
  4. Apollo's Chariot is replacing Alpengeist in the Christmas Town ride lineup this year.
  5. That would be pretty weird considering they have a Eurofighter. Nothing would shock me but it would be weird...
  6. I'm impressed that nobody has seriously suggested Cedar Point yet. I haven't looked at the posts about this on other sites and social media and you can't make me but I'm sure the "Well, if they started tearing down Wicked Twister right now then it would make sense that it wouldn't be ready for opening day" Olympic-sized-mental-gymnastics competition has already begun.
  7. Bowcraft can be removed also...
  8. That makes sense. Then again if you’re park hopping you don’t have to plan ahead all that much. You can be spontaneous based on what you feel like doing at the time / what lightning lane reservations you pull.
  9. I haven’t been on Jurassic World but I kind of feel that way too. Honestly, even if the other one is better it’s also selfishly nice to have experiences that are a bit different on both coasts.
  10. River Adventure is perfect. Don’t f*ck with it (even though we all know you probably will).
  11. Animal Kingdom is absolutely a full day park if you like animals. If you just want to ride everything and leave then yeah, it’s not a full-day park unless you just want to ride Everest and Flight of Passage all day which I mean… okay. Plus, Yak and Yeti exists. Lol It’s still my favorite park at WDW. The fact that they demolished Primevil Whirl just made me love it more. As for Everest, yeah… I guess there’s some weird reason for them picking a ride that rarely had a long line The only thing that I can think of is that despite being a Disney park, Animal Kingdom isn’t great for very small kids in the rides department. River Journey is one of the only rides without a height requirement, so maybe they didn’t want stupid people to buy the $15 daily pass and then say “Wait… I can’t ride anything!” That’s ridiculous but one of the only explanations that I can come up with. Picking Railway over Slinky is equally weird… PS: My pipe dream for that park is a Lion King dark ride. That movie printed money, it fits… build a ride. That park needs more to do when it rains anyway. I don’t even care if it’s just an omnimover if they want something else with no height requirement.
  12. Well I mean… month-long breakdowns are pretty routine for that ride so I guess they’re not lying.
  13. … lol what? Relax. It’s a joke that practically wrote itself given your username. I’m in no way offended by anything you said.
  14. Yeah, you tell him PS: Todd will never read this, but if he does then your screen name does nothing to help the stereotype that he's created in his head. ... I'm going to miss this thread after this place gets demolished in a few weeks.
  15. A lot of the issues with Jersey Devil are also due to them trying to run four trains at once. This won't be an issue for Magic Mountain after year one when it runs three trains and keeps one in refurb perpetually forever.
  16. So the owner of the park is now in a pissing match with a bunch of enthusiasts and locals who are mad at him about what he's done with the park and trying to obstruct everything in court. He’s calling them a bunch of selfish 80-year-olds. I hate everyone involved with this but I can't turn away. It's like watching a car accident in slow motion... Here is the full story Here is probably the most interesting excerpt. Also, it should be noted that the letter that they're referencing is also hilarious and loaded with typos. Thanks to @boldikus for bringing this shitshow story to my attention. I’m enjoying it immensely
  17. Big brain moves by Disney making Everest an upcharge and not Navi River Journey…
  18. I don't care about Soarin' at all. I probably wouldn't wait more than 15 minutes for it. The rides seriously aren't comparable at all. They're both simulators in the same way that El Toro and a Zamperla Volare are both roller coasters.
  19. Well… this is different. Ignore the stupid automated text to talk reporting, but this has some of the craziest angles I’ve seen of the collapse. Here’s a much better story. Apparently the Ferris wheel was planned to be part of a nearby shopping center, and it is a government project in the newer part of Fuzhou. There were no casualties.
  20. ^^ They closed a Scrambler for staffing? One person can run a Scrambler. lol
  21. People crap on it because it’s the same ride system as Indiana Jones and Indiana Jones is a better ride. That’s true, but it’s also like saying “I’ve been on Rise of the Resistance so now I refuse to enjoy any other trackless dark rides”. I’m not saying it’s the best ride in the park or anything but it’s good and I would argue very underrated.
  22. Does anyone know where the block button is on this new forum? I’m still learning my way around the new interface.
  23. I said what I said I’m not trying to be different just to be edgy or anything, I just absolutely believe that. As far as theming goes, I don’t think the other parks even come close and I doubt that’s even really a hot take. In terms of attractions, we probably like it so much because we also love animals and animal exhibits. It’s a very chill park. It’s gorgeous. Flight of Passage *might* be my favorite ride at WDW, Everest is awesome, Safari is great, I love Dinosaur and River Journey. The shows are fun and we love the animals. They don’t have a ton of rides but the ones they do have are bangers. Also, Yak and Yeti … and naked mole rats … and green beer … and that delicious blue shit … and the best bathroom on property that’s not Tangled per Brit’s official rankings
