It seems like commercial painting companies that generally paint coasters were probably hurting this year with parks trying to save money and offered everyone great prices that they all jumped on at once. Tons of parks are randomly painting rides at the exact same time, and a lot of those companies are rarely willing to paint anything. Xcelerator, Tatsu, Bizarro, Sidewinder, SooperDooperLooper, Cheetah Hunt (with no warning during their busy Haunt season), Manta, Kraken... it can't be a coincidence. Thanksfuly Nitro still isn't being painted or I'd worry that the Universe was about to be knocked totally out-of-whack.

Right, but adding those rides so that they could run year round would also mean you'd be able to ride those coasters all winter (except Lightning Rod, lol). -
The ride never made sense. It was originally themed to the old west but also Greek Mythology and had the very “western” color scheme of a Mountain Dew ad. Everyone needs to just give up on waiting for anything ever in the entire history of this ride with a sideways horse on the station to make sense.

I'm the exact opposite, I think they should just add indoor dark rides and screen rides and open year-round. -

I just hope they plant some trees over there, though that's kind of the opposite of what they've been doing lately. -

Galaxi update: Also, the loops for Quimera have been taken down: This is all from @GoleyNathan on Twitter. -
Is anyone knocking them for buying the SLC? I'm not knocking them for buying an SLC, I'm knocking them for buying two coasters and having them shipped to another continent in one case and then almost literally to the other side of the world in the other and then being surprised to learn incredibly basic things about what they bought after they bought them and agreed to ship them across the world. Even if it will "work out" in the end, that's still insane, especially in the case of the SLC where you can find plenty all over the US to just go and ride. And again... that's assuming what they're saying in this video is actually accurate (and that's a big assumption).

We went to Howl O Scream yesterday for the first time in a few years. I’ve got to say, we had a great time but it’s a shell of what it was even a few years ago. I feel like hopefully it’s a staffing thing but knowing that chain it’s probably a budget thing. There are less houses, the houses that they have are Six Flags quality and there are way less scare actors out on the midways also. They also just got rid of a lot of things they used to have like entertainment in the Sheikra plaza and they no longer bring out Halloween themed midway games / food carts everywhere. The big takeaway though is that the houses just aren’t very good (minus maybe one). We did a house at Six Flags New England last weekend and it was better than a few of these. That should never happen. That said, it was a great time anyway because no matter how much they scale back the event they still have Montu and Kumba. We got a back row Montu rain ride right at 1am after it had been running for 15 hours straight and holy-absolute-shit that ride is incredible. Death Water Bayou is still the best house. It’s like a relic of the past and it makes all of their new houses look like an absolute joke.

The only parks scaling back are the two parks in markets that didn’t allow them to open their rides last year due to Covid restrictions. I feel like this is partially a staffing thing and also caution about new restrictions when cases inevitably rise this winter. Hopefully next year things are back to normal.

Interestingly enough, I also noticed offers from Capital One for SeaWorld parks. I never use my Capital One card anymore but randonly logged in and noticed the other day (I got the Savor when it had an insane sign-up bonus but downgraded after they stopped waiving the annual fee). On an unrelated note, a Marriot devaluation may be coming per tons of usually-reliable sources. Consider booking now if you have future trips planned and you're using your Bonvoy points.
