  3. I finished my Master of Arts in Professional Creative Writing with a concentration in Professional Dramatic Writing from the University of Denver. Started in summer 2019 and finished mid March 2021. Most of the work was done during the pandemic! And I did this a full 34 YEARS after getting my B.A. Anything is possible! Now (fingers crossed) waiting for my return to work call from Disney....

  4. Thanks for the responses. While I still have no plans to see the Snyder cut anytime soon I now at least have a desire to go watch it at least. Like I said I'm done with the DCEU but I feel like I need to at least give the Snyder cut a chance now I know its at least close to the intended version. I mean I somewhat enjoyed the original Justice League even I could tell it was a Frankenstein mess. I will let you guys know when I come to it but don't expect it anytime soon. After that I can be truly done with the DCEU having seen 6 movies and 1 alternate take.

  5. I believe Snyder still hasn't seen the theatrical cut of the film. This film is 100% Snyder's vision. I was amused how much Snyder footage was in the theatrical cut but with a different CGI skin. And thank God the mustache is gone. If anything feels reactionary, it would be the animated film Justice League Dark: Apokolips War--which supposedly followed the plot of Snyder's vision for Justice Leagues 2 and 3. That film tied up its own continuity while being eerily similar to leaked plot points of Snyder's plans. It was released during the height of the #releasethesnydercut campaign.

  6. The state of Maryland took Adventure Parks permission to run two cars on Wildcat since they kept colliding, because the park did an in-house modification to ironically increase capacity. It's pretty sketchy over there ha.

  8. this cut doesn't feel like there's anything intended as a "response" to the Theatrical released version. really, what this cut does, is jettison pretty much everything Wheedon added (buh-bye idiotic Russian family fleeing plants that the heroes needed to stop fighting Steppenwolf to go rescue). . also buh-bye a lot of the "Marvel" style comedy that works for the Avengers, but not really when Synder is looking at the DC heroes as "Gods among Men"). which is not to say that there isn't any humor in the Snyder cut. . there actually is some (some works, some doesn't). so yeah, I get that this is close to his intended version - it probably still needed a few trims, and I certainly get the idea that this would have been split into two films (such as Avengers ended up doing a year later). it ABSOLUTELY fits into established lore (in particular key scenes from SvB can be viewed in a better light, and his take on Wonder Woman is spectacular. Just the extension of the Terrorist scene. . . Snyder *really* gets Wonder Woman). I'd recommend this cut. . the motivations added to several characters really give them an Arc (most visibly Cyborg, Steppenwolf (who has a reason for his actions now), Flash, and even Aquaman gets some additional backstory. Some have been saying this version "validates" Affleck's Batman. . not sure I'd go that far, but he is actually very good in this version. I much prefer how Superman is portrayed here too. one of the biggest changes - and I'll say it's a minor spoiler - is that in Act 3 (which is almost completely different than what was seen in Theatrical cut, tho yes, "skyboarding Aquaman" is still in there) during the "big battle" ? the big 3 really take a back seat. Batman, Superman, and WonderWoman are there, and particpate. . but the main protagonists in this version are Cyborg & Flash, with Aquaman pretty front and center too. does it take a lot of the teeth out of the middle of the film that Supes doesn't do all that much in the final battle? a bit, but I mean. . he had to be resurrected, right?

  10. 6 Flags really seems to be doing it right. I wouldn't sell them short! Initially, there may be some minor issues in 2 weeks. Cedar Fair continues to disappoint with their openings and policies. Cedar Point said they'll close rides early now - before posted closing. That's taking care of their guests... A buddy of mine said his paused membership at MM automatically reactivates tomorrow 3/21. It looks like a go! Unfortunately I can't participate now because of the governor's rules you must be Cali resident. I can't wait for my return to the mountain!

  12. "[T]he Benton County wage increase can be tied to a surge in professional services jobs that include engineers, lawyers and some technology-related occupations. Those jobs tend to be high-paying positions." Yeah, your average Arkansawyer isn't seeing any of that money. As always, when you look under the surface, a few people benefit and everyone else gets the scraps. So sure, SDC might see a few passholders among those professionals, but wouldn't it be better if wages were increased for the vast majority of Missourians and Arkansawyers so that a greater number of people could afford to go to the park? A rising tide lifts the boats, sure, but it doesn't do a whole lot for the people who are clinging to driftwood.

  14. Bert... dude, chill... I'm not in favor of opening up any state, so we have no beef. My post was a response to Kim's questions, except it came with a poor joke on media in general. There were no political undertones.

  15. For starters, the park would just be opening this weekend if it was a normal year (I know its not but still). We also know SEAS had some financial issues that held up the completion of some of these big new coasters and none of us have any idea how much of that has been straightened out at this time. Just because SEAS is seemingly squared away with RMC or Premier doesn't mean they are with Intamin. Speaking of RMC - has there been any activity over at Iron Gwazi? Not that I've heard of. Also, only one of the five new SEAS coasters has actually opened yet, so its not like Pantheon is the only one that might potentially be having issues, mechanical, financial, or otherwise. Not to mention this is only one photo of the train sitting on the launch track, not a series of observations over an extended period of time, and this is certainly not the first time a new Intamin launcher has potentially had issues leading up to (and beyond) its opening, so is that enough of a reason to freak out that the ride isn't going to open? Nope. What I am trying to say is everybody calm down. I want it to open more than most, trust me. Pantheon is my most anticipated ride on the planet right now. I'm confident it's going to open. But if you're trying to plan trips at the beginning of the season while Covid is still a thing, parks are still kinda trying to figure this out and how and when they are going to debut their new rides and you're not expecting that you may be disappointed that shit is not open/operations are weird/etc, then you just haven't been paying attention at all and you're just doing this all wrong. This isn't directly at anyone in particular I feel like I've been seeing a lot of this Is PaNthEoN EveR gOinG TO oPeN posts all over the place lately.

  16. Why does it feel like anytime there is even a hint of expansion at any park, enthusiasts bust out the biggest crack pipe they can find and just start slamming back rocks?

  18. AMEN!!! It's so dumb to me that a company (Premier) which made headlines and won awards and praise from all of us for taking OTSR's OFF of rides that didn't need it is now needlessly putting OTSR's back on rides that don't need them!!! UGH!!! AND THERE IS NOTHING COMFORTABLE ABOUT COMFORT COLLARS. Sorry, I'm just really passionate about this and I think it's crap.

  19. I mean... in a world of social distancing they’re probably pretty well positioned. If they ran this place at 25% capacity that would probably be equal to the population of some small countries.
