  1. The park has a crap ton of coasters and this is the first spinning coaster. I don’t get how it doesn’t fit in. It also has a low height requirement (for Cedar Fair). It’s different for them, so it’s a perfect fit. Realistically this entire thing is also a budget cut. They can operate a small lift driven Zamperla rather than an Intamin Inpulse that used a ton of power, required more ride ops and required more expensive parts and more maintenance. Still though… I’m fine with it.

  2. On Saturday, May 6th I made my first visit of the 2023 season to Canada's Wonderland! For being Opening Weekend, it wasn't nearly quite as busy as I would have expected with the weather being as beautiful as it was, especially after almost two weeks of rain! While Tundra Twister and Snoopy's Racing Railway weren't quite ready yet, I did manage to get some photos of them. They should be open and operational by mid to late May! I also managed to get some photos of other improvements made around the park during the off-season including the removal of the trees around Swing of the Century, a new fence along the path by Shockwave, the repainting of Vortex, and the replacement of the Whac-A-Mole game with Peach Basket in Grande World Exposition of 1890. Enjoy the photos below! Tundra Twister: Swing of the Century (without trees): Snoopy's Racing Railway (was testing!): Vortex (with a fresh coat of paint): New Peach Basket Game in Grande World Exposition of 1890: New fence in International Festival next to Shockwave:

  4. This post is so far off the rails here but there's a lot to unpack in this post that has absolutely nothing to do with a fast pass system. You've made unnecessary comments in the past but this one tops the cake for you. You yap that this is a worldwide controversy yet all I see in your post is what the real biggest problem with our society is currently. Selfishness and a what about me and what I get attitude. Me, me, me and mine. Not everyone has the same opportunities to get ahead in life no matter how hard they work. Your attitude of how you see people is rather quite disgusting. Just because you worked hard doesn't mean you're better than a guy pumping gas, that guy is working and yet somehow he's a cigarette addicted alcoholic that's still an entitled drain on society to you. Somehow people who don't go to college are automatically living the immediate gratification lifestyle and are out there just buying nice things and living it up. Wut? Lol this is absolutely delusional None of this shit is as simple as you seem to think it is. We get it, you don't like paying taxes, none of us really do, when we all know they piss away a lot of it and especially me when a lot of my taxes go to fund the police who also have these same awful entitled attitudes that many of them have, including yourself.

  5. But.......aren't you doing the same when you generalize people that live in "shithole" neighborhoods? (Your words in another thread) And before you say I don't know what I'm talking about I taught public school for 28 years in one of those types of neighborhoods.

  6. They should have at least built two of them though like Disney or Nagashima for capacity.

  7. Disney was probably one of the last parks on Earth to monetize the 'skip the line' programs so I really don't think they started the problem!

  8. Fast Lane + is gone. There is only Fast Lane. The former FastLane + rides are now included in FL. I have had each meat option at Grain and Grill, my faves are the beef and pork. The couscous salad is the best side they have! They did downsize the indoor seating to accommodate cashiers and drink machines. Pull pork fries at Potato Works is on the meal plan! You will not be disappointed.

  9. Yes and no. They were the last one do to a true "pay to skip", but... I'm also considering the decision to let resort hotel guests book their FastPasses before other guests as a type of monetizing. Original FP was truly free and equally available to everyone who paid for a park entry. That also started the snowball effect of FP being a de facto requirement when visiting WDW because they had to add so many things to FP in order to even have enough reservations to give out.

  10. As long as it's not run like the Arrow mice in the chain, the park'll be fine.

  11. ^ Agreed. You don't need every single ride to be the most extreme thing around. You want to have something for everyone, and this budget cut of a ride absolutely fulfills that.

  12. Awesome! The list was pretty solid this year. All 10 of those parks deserved to be there.

  13. They had Big Bear testing all afternoon today. Trains have working headlights and tail lights. Area and station look nice. Trains look small. Park was not crowded at all today. Most everything outside of LR and FC was a walk on.

Andy shared these pics with me. . taken from a more central location for the fireworks. .and as he's a really good photographer? way better than my pics. so sharing these too, from the same showing we saw, tho we were off to the right near Tomorrowland entrance, and he was dead center with a real camera, not an iPhone

  16. Since Knoebels hasn't said anything about it, it's probably going to the nearest scrap heap.

  17. I don't count flume credits but I do prefer the left side. Thanks for the info Kim. Mike

  18. The bridges are temporary. Usually, both sides are only open on really busy days, plus there has to be enough staff to do it. When only one side is open they usually use the right (as you descend the stairs to get on) because of ADA access BUT that side is currently down for a mechanical issue; hence the bridges for ADA access to the left side. Take advantage of the left being open when you are at the park, it's a lot harder to get rides on that side, lol.

  19. This is the first new steel roller coaster track SFStl has had in the park in 16 years. There have been people born and driving who have never seen this happen before.

  20. The mindbender would be so inferior to anything that is currently at Knoebels. That is 100% not the place that this ride should end up. One of the best wooden rollercoasters in the world does not need the MindBender. Knoebles is a gem just the way it is.

  21. I'm not gonna linger long because honestly, my desire to be involved in this hobby is gone and probably never coming back. The Mindbender is something I rode and I'll readily admit that it was a source of enormous "anticippointment" - I hated the accordion restraints and realized people had just made up stories about them being better/different than other attractions like Taz's Texas Tornado. But there were the bones of something very good there. In honestly, the real reason to even interject myself here is just to say somewhere online that Mindbender going away is just part and parcel of what feels like a kind of "end" for that generation of attractions. A lot of stuff that was a big deal domestically and abroad when I got into the hobby - The Ultimate, Montana Rusa from Mexico, Mindbender, countless giant wood coasters, Big Bad Wolf, Eagle's Fortress - all that stuff is gone. What's taken its place is honestly "better" in terms of dynamics, pacing, forces, and such, but I find it to feel much more generic and interchangeable. There's less weird when every coaster is built by one of every 6-7 firms and there's 20 examples of everything. And what is "weird" now often has no positive, good properties. Screaming Squirrels are weird but they suck. But then again, if I think everything sucks, maybe the Screaming Squirrel is actually fun. And that's why it is time for me to move on.
