  1. I don't think you're talking about the same watch. . . They are talking about the qbot watch thing where you can reserve rides and things, you are talking about simply keeping up with time.

  4. I was referencing the fact that they priced WT based on the track heigh ($215 / 215 feet tall), meaning that dragster will be $420

  5. I don't remember Batman having any of the double strap seats.

  6. All these jokes about Aquatraxx and TTD, meanwhile SeaWorld San Antonio is (probably) getting a launched log flume.

  7. It is my understanding that it was a go on the end of Six Flags and there had been preliminary contacts to RMC and that it was to be a possible 50th celebration ride for 2021; then it all got blown up by the virus. If they were starting the process in early 2020 for the next year's anniversary that would make sense timing wise but someone else may be able to shed more light on it.

  8. Hey, I am a local. Yes, the park has been dead this summer most of the time. Sorry, I can't answer the Batman seat question but I don't ever remember seeing this. I don't expect the back of the park to be closed during Holiday is the Park. Especially because they just re-tracked GASM this year. If you have any other questions feel free to ask me.

  9. Guys my friend's Dad works for Intamin and they said they're gonna install a compressed air launch. 0-135 in 0.8 seconds. -2.5gs over the top hat.

  10. There are not as many 'locals' posting here compared to the other parks' pages. This is likely due to there being a very active Facebook page just for SFoG fans. Lots of discussion goes on there. That said - I plan on visiting this (my 'home' park) possibly Sunday, and definitely next weekend when Fright Fest begins. Park has been very un-crowded all summer. Keep in mind, SFoG is closed this Saturday the 10th for a private event.

  12. I think we all agree Magic Mountain needs another Coaster, actually maybe 3 more.

  13. This is one of those things that I just ignore, not because it's necessarily wrong but it just strikes me as one of those things that someone said once and everyone just took it as gospel forever. None of us have any clue what the limitations are, and technology is always evolving. I'm sure it's possible if they want to do it. They can even put LIMs up a curved hill if they want to, Intamin does it all the time.

  14. We visited for the first time this past weekend. I was surprised at how nice the park is compared to Valleyfair and Dorney. Mamba was probably our favorite ride there, but I don’t want to overhype it too much. It was a lot better than Steel Force and a bit better than Wild Thing but I prefer every other Morgan hyper that I’ve been on.

  15. To address a few of the things brought up: I don't think there is any worry about the park being open weekends only because the festivals are only on weekends. Lots of parks, much bigger more premier parks, do festivals that run weekends only. Takes lots of extra staff to man the booths. It COULD be a way to get more locals to the park IF they ADVERTISE it to the GP and have some really good food booths and drink specials, etc, etc. Our park doesn't always do a very good job marketing to the masses. I have been on JL and in my opinion it is better without the 3D, clearer. At worst I don't think a lot of people will even notice a difference in picture quality. And yes I believe it was a chain wide thing. Thunder River went down for a mechanical issue around a month ago and they pretty much knew then it would not come back in time for this season The ride op that lives in my house has said that they are "supposed" to add trains in time for FF so hopefully only a couple more weekends of one train ops. Although I agree it's disappointing that they didn't have them for a holiday weekend. As far as Boss, I had it on very good authority that there was a firm plan to RMC the thing before the virus that shall not be named struck. Do with that info what you will. Is there any chance now with the new CEO? Probably not, at least in the near future, but I really don't know where it stands at the moment. I've been butt hurt ever since they removed the helix.

  16. I agree. You can already see the ripple affect all across US parks. Where’s the 25 million dollar B&M? 30 million dollar Intamin? No one is building that. Instead parks are either rebranding current rides or finishing rides that are already on the books. That’ll happen after a pandemic and economic down turn. You can look back in the thread from 2008/2009 and see a similar SF situation and park’s building family rides or nothing at all.

  17. SFSTL has been taking a year off from major rides since 2008, and look where that has the condition of the park? It's the same conversation each year. "Take a year off and refresh the parks." The same parks take repeated years off. Meanwhile, they get the same mediocre water treading refreshers that other parks in the chain get, including the ones receiving the major additions. SFSTL fans can't even get RMC treatment on what has been the roughest roller coaster in the chain since Rattler. We'll pass on the "let's take a year off" philosophy. That has been the idea since 2020 for the park, and still half of the Go Kart track remains along side of roped off areas and piles of dirt in plain view. The new paint and 5 refreshed flower beds don't make up for not being able to bulldoze and grass seed major eyesores. Although, next year the park is getting a snow cone weekend as a highlighted event, so it's not like it's being completely disregarded.

  18. A trusted source no longer with the park confirmed the RMC information as well. Before his departure he always gave me reliable information. But, it doesn't matter. It didn't happen. Shafted once again.
