  1. Pretty sure it's Chimera from Chapultepec Park in Mexico City! Who would have ever guessed that a park that was super closed and bankrupt would reopen, and save a coaster we all assumed was doomed!!!! 2020 baby!

  4. I'm not used to saying "The problem with this ride in it's prior location was poor maintenance but Indiana Beach will take much better care of it" Also, this Quimera thing is so crazy that nobody has mentioned that they're naming a ride "Polyp" yet.

  5. Luna park Sydney has just announced they will be opening 9 new rides. https://justforfun.lunaparksydney.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Luna-Park-Sydney-to-invest-30m-on-major-updates-and-upgrades.pdf Luna Park Sydney unveiled today a $30 million plan to update and refresh one of Australia’s best known and most loved destinations, including the installations of new rides and attractions. The plan was officially announced by the Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres, and will transform the 85-year-old park into a worldclass amusement venue fit for the 21st century. Mr Ayres welcomed the $30 million investment economic boost and the creation of jobs at a critical time. “This investment will attract more people to Sydney and ensure that Luna Park continues providing joy and excitement to millions of families and children for the next 85 years and beyond,” he said. “We are excited to announce the introduction of nine new permanent rides that will thrill and excite all age levels, including six new children’s rides; a family coaster; a thrill ride; and a new Big Dipper, which will be the first inline seating launch roller coaster in the world. The new Big Dipper is a state-of-the-art ‘one seat wide’ train that is smaller than the original Big Dipper at Luna Park. It has been specifically designed to ride very low to the terrain where appropriate, in harmony with the historic landscape features of the site. Editor's note: the new Big Dipper will be the first installation of an Intamin Hot Racer coaster.

  6. ^ I have to give the new owners credit, 5 of the 6 roller coasters weren't broken by the end of my visit in 2020 and a piece didn't fall off of Cornball's train. I'm stunned Indiana Beach is saving Quimera and that this is the Schwarzkopf from La Feria that was saved first. I'm certainly not complaining though since Quimera may possibly be the most intense coaster I've ever ridden. That was partially because of Mexico City's altitude and partially because La Feria ran it without the brakes. I imagine Indiana Beach will actually use the trims and run this coaster as it was designed, but that still makes it a fantastic ride on par with Galaxyland's Mindbender. I can't decide what's more shocking- Luna Park getting the first Intamin single rail out of nowhere or this. I'm going with this. Indiana Beach seems to be one of the few parks with good news in 2020. It was saved from the grave and then adds a coaster that many thought was going to be scrapped.

  7. Agreed, this is spectacular news. More Schwarzkopf greatness in the US is always appreciated.

  8. This ride gives me Tampico Tumbler vibes from the old days at Knotts.

  9. It looks like a Gerstlauer family shuttle coaster, like Rewind Racers in California.

  10. Super cool to see that Intamin has already sold one of their Hot Racer coasters. It’ll be really interesting to see how these compare to the RMC Raptors. While the layout looks a bit tamer, I think the train/restraint design looks MUCH better on Intamin’s version. With that being said, Big Dipper doesn’t seem to be a very lucky name for coasters in this park...

  12. I agree, friendly competition is fine and all. These parks and companies are hurting though across the board, attacking neighboring parks in social media posts isn't tasteful right now. Ice Breaker was supposed to open sooner and had to push back for circumstances out of their control. Universal keeps building this reputation that they don't play nice with others, which is ironic since they're number two in Orlando anyways. It's like second place making fun of third place and acting like their first. It would take one post by Sea World addressing the pandemic and not being able to open on time and Universals witty comment could backfire. I love both parks, and in a normal climate I'd find it funny. However, I really would just like to see parks stay open and keep adding new rides. Just my two cents on the whole thing.

  13. I wonder what other rides had their last riders in November? Wonder what ROBIN HOOD would say? Maybe he's going back to his dungeon?

  15. I honestly think that Universal Tweet is pretty pathetic. Why do they need to shade on Sea World!?!? Have some confidence and focus on your own park.

  16. AMEN!!! It's so dumb to me that a company (Premier) which made headlines and won awards and praise from all of us for taking OTSR's OFF of rides that didn't need it is now needlessly putting OTSR's back on rides that don't need them!!! UGH!!! AND THERE IS NOTHING COMFORTABLE ABOUT COMFORT COLLARS. Sorry, I'm just really passionate about this and I think it's crap.

  17. Does being open count as a characteristic of the ride?

  19. Thank you @bert425! I usually get the display up within a week since I only have a week off of school before Thanksgiving. Thankfully my family are wonderful hardworking elves so I don't have to install all 40,000 lights by myself.?

  21. Hey everyone, its been awhile since I've done much more than browse the board, but I wanted to ask everyone here for some deep hard prayers for Josh (HWFan)... Some of you may already know whats going on, but I'm not going to get in to specifics out of respect to Josh and his family, just asking for prayers. So big prayers to you Josh and your family
