Photo TR: SFoG, KD, and a Black Widow

Ok so let me spin you the story of a lucky guy.

 

I decide to go to this fundraiser, for a cop that was killed, I heard about at my local Circuit City. I paid $10 to get in and was going to buy something since a portion of the proceeds went to the family. There were of course prizes to be won which is where lucky comes in.

 

So as I stand listening to all the small prizes go to other people I think to myself, "If I don't get one of these I won't win a thing." Long story short I won the 2nd prize which turned out to be a $500 Sony DSLR Camera!

 

So how will I celebrate? Why go to SFoG and take lots of photos tomorrow and then post them here in my first ever Photo TR!! As for the Portal style, well I could never come up with enough good captions so instead I decided to theme the pictures to a song and I thought of great ideas for the lyrics to the Portal Credits song and I hope it turns out as planned and I get more then 5 views!!!!

Part-2: TP Photo TR!

 

So unfortunately I didn't get all the photos I wanted for my Portal theme so you will have to suffer through some lame captions, and some stolen captions.

 

The crowds were crazy today, there was a 2 hour wait for the mine train! I went around for about 2 hours taking pictures for here and then I put my camera in my car and head back to the park to ride.

 

Around 7:00 I was going to ride Mindbender one last time and then head home, well I got off Goliath and they announced closure for inclement weather! What luck I had to have just ridden! So it wasn't raining at all and it was still sunny so I was wondering when Cedar Fair had bought Six Flags without telling anyone but as I came down the exit ramp I looked to the right and BAM super dark scary lightning storm was coming.

 

So I casually walked out of the park as the crowds were bum rushing the sidewalks to run to their cars before it started raining and then I got in my car and headed home.

Great Tr and photos. Makes me want to go. I went to SFgradv this year and am definatly going to hit SFOG next year. Does anyone if the flash pass at SFOG works just like the one at SFgradv?

^you find the ride on the pass and reserve a time. Regular price you wait just as long but not in line and Gold they remove about 75% of the wait time. Up to 6 people on one pass and 1 ride reservation at a time.

Seriously, who is that cat-like girl supposed to be, I've been seeing that character around at other parks and i can't figure it out. I thought i watched enough super hero cartoons to know this, but i'm having the hardest time.

I was at the park on Saturday as well for a bit to meet some friends. All I can say is that we were only there all of an hour. We got to ride Superman 1 time and it seemed that everything else was either down or over an hour wait. And we got there at opening. It was ridiculous how many people were there. On top of that, it was hot as hell and we were drenched in sweat in about 30 minutes. We had enough and left the park around 11:30. Glad you had fun!

So I took a trip to my local zoo expecting a few smaller animals nd nothing exciting, being it was in a park and was $6, but boy did I get shown!

 

I was amazed that they had a black widow, which is FREAKING awesome because I've always wanted to see one on my terms where it can't kill me!

I might be going on tuesday with my sister & the kids,a word of warning though for a saturday trip :Get to Dominator ASAP!!! even with three trains going the queue fills up fast & moves slow,especially if waiting for the front row.

 

BTW the best seat in the house would be front row,outside left if you havn't ridden the ride yet.

I planned on hitting Dominator first because I know how new rides get. I think I'll aim to make Volcano my #100!

Definitly! Best experience I had on the ride was that seat.

This TR is a winner because it has 4 of my favorite things: Rapids, Funnel Cakes, Joker, and Goliath. Well done!

The rapids there was pretty good too, nothing amazing, but it had a bunch've "Oh S*** that guy/girl got plastered and that could've been me!" moments so I enjoyed my ride.

 

Especially since I had flash pass and waited 15 minutes instead of 3+ hours!

 

P.S. The funnel cake fulfilled some of my portal requirements! lol I'm going to try and get some more Portal song or other song references into my KD portion!

Ok so depending on whether I can stay up long enough or not this will either be a 1 or 2 part update, not that I have tons of avid posters begging for my photos or anything!

 

So I left Greenville, SC at 1PM Friday and took 4 hrs to get to Blacksburg, VA in order to drop off all of my CRAP! I was up til' 11:30 fighting my printer to give me my E-Ticket that saved me $15 on park admission so I got to sleep around midnight, woke up at 6AM sharp as if going to work and hopped in my truck and started the 3 and a 1/2 hour drive to Doswell to search for Aliens, wait coasters! Along the way I ran through part of a Stephen King novel, as you will see, and had two awesome moments in the car. (Side note: Jeopardy just had a TP catagory woo! Second side note: Taking pictures with a DSLR camera while driving should be ILLEGAL, as you will see )

 

Ok so the first car moment came around halfway through the I-64 section when I was coming up on a random ghetto dude (Backwards straight brim hat, spinners, wife beater, etc.) and when I got within ear shot he was totally listening to High School Musical and singing along!! I almost died from running of the road laughing. The second moment was when I found my first ever, "We play anything radio station," when the order of songs went.

So I finally got to the park at 10 o'clock and was VERY glad I did because I got front row Dominator in TEN minutes at 10 after 10 and then caught the crowd before the park opened so I got on Volcano in 10 minutes and then proceeded to finish the park, including a show and lunch, by 1:30!!! However I was TOTALLY depressed when half of Rebel Yell was closed completely ROBBING me of #100 because I wouldn't bring myself to make Scooby's Coaster #100, but my depression was quickly remedied by a frozen strawberry lemonade and an awesome power hour of great photo taking!

 

I eventually made it home at 2:30AM after consoling a female ride-op that was brought to tears when a fellow worker cursed her out when she closed the line after he wanted to leave it open 5 more minutes, seeing 6 people get kicked out for causing a scene by refusing to get off Volcano, and 5 other people get kicked out for, "I'm coming back from the bathroom" line-breaking! I was happy to see a park actually enforcing the rule.

 

My top three coasters were Dominator then FoF, then Volcano (Yes I know it's weird but W/E!! ) OK I swear you will see pictures now including many Rapid Fire series, which I have decided will be the highlight of all my future TR's since the SFoG ones came out so well!

Rapid Fire!

A Mini is my dream car and at 6'3" with 4 foot legs that seems odd to people!

YAY Italia....I mean Stunt Coaster!!!

This was the surprise ride of the trip, I had NEVER heard of it and knew nothing about it but I had a TON of fun riding it, aside from the 2 times it turns you head into a punch-me-clown on viagra...

I had fun riding this at night with my sunglasses on, as that is what I do!

Arrows are so photogenic!

Like Shockwave I was "smart" enough to think the back would be fun.....oops

This was the only good part.

This ride might've been better if I hadn't played, "Lets see how tight I can squeeze the restraints into my ribs" LOL

This was a good Drop Tower too I must admit.

So I only took one photo of you, even though I can only take one angle anyone shhhhhhh...

You bruised my leg and made my knee bleed you a-hole!

But, I just got here!

Notice how swervy I was when taking pictures by observing the center line with long shutter bulbing!

One large mutilated (dead center of my vision of course) bug later I was apple pie in the sky!

Fortunately there was 1. No acid spiders, 2. I wasn't in a supermarket and 3. My ending was MUCH happier lol

An hour in I found my Stephen King credit!

Ok Part-2 now that I have slept, gone to work, showered, ate tacos, and watched Lady in the Water!

 

This part will have all mentioned coasters with a LARGE amount of Dominator fotos and a bunch've rapid fire series from the remaining rides!

The blur is the train and if not for the spotlight I would've bulbed the whole run so the track was fully blurred but it wouldn't have worked with the spotlight

The launch out of the volcano and the first low speed roll were all I really liked and other then that it was kind've boring for me, still 8/10 though.

I didn't know this was an Intamin until I got home, but I should've guessed from the smoothity of it. (Patent that word for me please.)

I'll just go ahead and give Natatomic credit for this caption without even quoting it.
