Yes and no.

It's not pure ERT, as much as it is just a bit of extra time in the park.

It tends to be really busy, so you're not getting as many rides as you'd expect during a tpical ERT session.

I really enjoyed CM when it was in September that one year, as the park was not busy that day.

But when they have it on a saturday in June it tends to be packed, which lessens the amount of rides.

It's worth going to as long as you're not coming from really far away just for the event.

I believe it is always on a Friday...but the times I went it was crowded and did not get too many rides on the coasters...if it is alot of rides you want to get on...I suggest going during the week in May...but Coastermania is a Blast a great atmosphere ...either way you will not be disappointed.

^ I've been twice and both times it was a saturday if I remember correctly.

Though I think this year it's a friday?

Just checked it has been on a friday every year except 2004 (cause of it being held in september due to the ACE Con)

(if it makes you feel any better it lasts till saturday sometimes )

Anytime there is an event where you can meet Jeff Putz in person... you know it's worth it.

Nice.

This year it's on a friday... But regardless, I'm not asking so much what the normal day is like, just how crowded the ERT gets. 10 min waits... That's cool 1 hour long... Not so much.

I've been thinking of possibly heading over to Cedar Point next year, for their Coastermania weekend.

Anybody want to TR on how it's been, lately? I think for myself, it is one of The Earliest Bucket List things

I have ever wanted to do in my life, no matter what was going on. Cedar Point was an ongoing beacon to me.

And, I might actually fulfill that very early coaster dream!

And still be physically able to ride those =&%#@*( rough ones, ha ha.

Take note, this year CP is limiting the amount of people that can attend coastermania since people said it was getting crowded. I don't know what that number is but they specifically cited so the ERT's will have less people so you can get more rides in.

Last time i went to Coastermainia it was a few years ago. it was on a saturday . It was kinda crowded as they advertised it on the radio and tv stations open to any one, even one with season passes that don't belong to a club. It was a fun day but the morning session took to long to get rides up and running so many didn't get many rides. I know I got 1 ride on maverick and then head over to get a ride on MF before GP. Waited about 15 for that . Evening session was a little less crowded rode Mf 1 at night was great, then headed over to TDD and got 27 rides in before they closed the ert. The last 10 rides were the best as there was no line and we got to stay in our seats. Well ok they did tell us we had to get and walk a round to prove that we were ok to ride more. Most interesting part of the night was we had a group of 5 teen party crashers that were trying to sneak on to the ride only to have security round them up and escort them out of the park. You had to have a wrist band to ride. We did have our ERT extend to 1 am as several of the rides didn't want cooperate.

I went 2013 and it was pretty great, albeit it was the most amount of coaster enthusiasts I've ever seen in one place at the time (Coasterstock last year beat that). Even with that, I'd highly recommend doing it at least once because it is an awesome event, especially if it's your first time to the park (like it was for me). You'll get a huge amount out of the park from doing it!

I hear it's been getting a bit packed like the above two had said, and with some folks saying that it felt a bit more unorganized. I can't say I experienced any "crowding" or un-organization of any sort, so I can't speak on that issue.

I just checked the site, and it's definitely sign-up only, as a "club member" with what they've listed, including Club TPR.

So it looks like they are limiting their numbers, from past years. And it's definitely not "open" like it used to be.

Which is great. It's a learning process. 2017, here I come...

^ Hey, wait till you're my age. Dense sounds so much better,

than sometimes not being able to filter (or remember) what you say.

Thanks for the honesty.

(And you ARE 101, right?)

Coastermania! 2016

And don't forget, one of you if not more, to post a TR afterwards, please?
