Mystery Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Well, Together with some friends we decieded to built our very own backyard coaster. That plan was started almost 3 years ago, and finaly we are making some serious progress, see the pictures for more: No coaster without a coach This is our very own small car, nicknamed 'the car of death' A good coaster has to have a tunnel, so we build one to There will be some light effects in the tunnel, we hope The start as seen from the other side. Be sure to watch that tree, you really want to miss it The very top of the coaster, It won't have a lifthill, you have to push the car back up that hill, hold in and place and get seated. Prepare for your ride of doom!
phazan Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Awsome!! Have you tested it yet? And do you think it would be safe to ride? Looks very cool!
COASTER FREAK 11 Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Looks like something that i would build, hope it misses that tree ans dosent jump track at the tunnel!
Cerberus Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Whoa, neat! You're lucky to have to room and terrain to build something like that!. Looks good so far. I'd imagine it'll actually pick up some decent speed there. Hmm, I know it'd take a lot more effort, but for a smoother ride it might be worth cutting those rails into shorter sections. That'd also allow you to perform more accurate manoeuvres. Cool stuff Also, WTF is up with the second photo?! A set of STOCKS?! What the hell do you DO in those woods?!
Reon Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Grr. I remember you from the origional backyard coaster thread. It's amazing how much progress youve made. As for me, I'm still debating on layouts Ah well, looks like fun so far...Nice job
Max Payne Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Saw this one on themepark.nl already... still a cool coaster methinks. Though you realise this is just the work of your brain trying to get you killed in new and interesting ways don't you? You might not know it, but you're actually a very specialised sort of suicidal
jarmor Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 That looks very scary...lol lol. And not in a "looks scary but I still wanna ride" way!
arrowfanman Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 Lol....wow, you're really going all out there! Looks freakin sweet! I have always wanted to do something like this, but I dont think its gonna happen. But I'm glad that your having success so far! -Jahan
gunslinger Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 HAH! I love this! I've never ridden a proper terrain-woody, but I've always been fascinated by them. You're so lucky to have this kind of open space to be able to do something like this. It seriously looks like it could be awesome. Now finish it and let me ride it!
Reon Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Just a quick question: what kind of wood did you use for structering the track? Just the part that the car rides on...*needs to know incase this option is cheaper than making a bobsled*
TwistedTrack Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Does the ride just go down the hill and through the tunnel? I have always wanted to do something like that, But not quite a track like that. You inspired me! Hoorah!
Mystery Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 Awsome!! Have you tested it yet? And do you think it would be safe to ride? Looks very cool! The track isn't finished yet, so not complete testings, but it does ride this part, the othet part won't be a problem ...Also, WTF is up with the second photo?! A set of STOCKS?! What the hell do you DO in those woods?! Everyone who says El Condor (First Vekoma SLC) is smooth will be put in that Just a quick question: what kind of wood did you use for structering the track? Just the part that the car rides on...*needs to know incase this option is cheaper than making a bobsled* The part that the car rides on, it are old barriers used by a railway construction company, they'll fit perfectly for this job Does the ride just go down the hill and through the tunnel? I have always wanted to do something like that, But not quite a track like that. You inspired me! Hoorah! Jup, down the hill, trough the tunnel, and something after the tunnel, but that isn't finished yet
Reon Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Thats what I thought. Wasnt sure if you painted wood, or just stole barriers...
verticalzero Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 Your coaster is looking good, will you having any "bunny hops" in the tunnel or just afterwards..? Post some more pic's when you have an update.
Mystery Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 Thats what I thought. Wasnt sure if you painted wood, or just stole barriers... Mystery Posted March 25, 2006 Author Posted March 25, 2006 I've taken a small onride today This is maby the worst onride you'll ever see, it is taken with my phone; Download it here. It is an .3gp, open with Quicktime In two weeks or so I'll make a good onride
Token Yankee Guy Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 That wasn't a bad on-ride. But what happend right at the end? Looked like you fell off or something
Mystery Posted March 25, 2006 Author Posted March 25, 2006 We were going to fast and went of the track (it was the first test with 2 persons on the car )
RtherBOnACoaster Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 How do you stop the car? Or how do you plan to stop the car?
Reon Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 How'd you upload that? I have a camera phone that can record up to 50 seconds, but I cant figure out how to upload to the computer...Anyways, nice that its finally done...
Mystery Posted March 25, 2006 Author Posted March 25, 2006 How do you stop the car? Or how do you plan to stop the car? There is a beam above the rear weels, when you press that down you'll brake How'd you upload that? I have a camera phone that can record up to 50 seconds, but I cant figure out how to upload to the computer...Anyways, nice that its finally done... Mine has a memorycard in it, I put it in a card reader It must be in the manual of you phone I guess
Reon Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 So you just took it out of your phone and put it in the comp? *I need to look at my manual more in depth* Jared"No seriously, I recorded 3 possible layouts for Wildcat in there"Becker
rollocoast Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 But what happend right at the end? Looked like you fell off or something We were going to fast and went of the track LMFAO!
