Nozzy Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 ^ I think it would have been easier if they had listed which rides would be closed (Only thing I noticed was Skooters). I'm glad they were able to get things back up this quickly, and hope they have a good end to the season. There really is no place like Knoebels...
cal1br3tto Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Reducing prices seems like a nice gesture. Although the closure of a few well-loved rides is surely disappointing to some, overall there seems to be enough open for guests to easily get their money's worth. I'm glad the park has such understanding and supportive fans.
A.J. Posted September 15, 2011 Posted September 15, 2011 Italian Trapeze, Satellite, the super round-up thingy, and the Sky Slide as well aren't listed. EDIT: Tea Cups too. Oh, and the Flying Turns isn't listed. But that's become sort of commonplace.
Jim S. Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Not to slight Knoebels in any way, but I think some of you are mis-understanding the "special" pricing. It's almost certainly because of the short days, not the lack of rides. When they're not open 10 hours, the price list has almost always said "special". (And don't forget that you can use tickets any day.)

coasterbill Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 So what majors are not in there? Haunted House? Downdraft? So impressed with the park cleaning that mess up! Those might be open since it says on the bottom "Haunted Mansion, Scenic Skyway not included in POP plans" They may just not be listing them with the POP rides. I could be wrong I just figured I'd point it out because I was wondering about that before.
DenDen Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I am so impressed with this park right now! I dunno how many people here have suffered a flood, but it ain't easy! If I were in the area, I would totally go, just to support their efforts. JOB WELL DONE!!!!
cal1br3tto Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Even if the pricing for this weekend only reflects the operating hours, I guess it doesn't change my point: it should be easy for people to get their money's worth. Incidentally, Knoebels is the only normal-sized, desirable park where I actually prefer using individual tickets. I love how the low prices help your money go further than it seems like it should, and it's actually kinda fun to check prices and prepare tickets for each ride for a change.
A.J. Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Knoebels will as of now also have the Skooter Bumper Cars, Haunted Mansion, Satellite, and other smaller kids rides open this weekend, once again according to their Facebook page. Attractions-wise, it's like the flood never happened. I guess there was some seriously fantastic stuff going on during that cleanup.
coasterbill Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 ^Skyway was listed on the list though. Oh... well then I'm just blind I guess. Ignore me. Anyway, it's on the list now... they just added Bumper Cars, Haunted Mansion, Kiddie Helicopters, Kiddie Bumper Cars, Ole Smokey, Red Barons, Satellite, Space Walk, and the Umbrella Ride.
alilstronger Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I am going to the park on October 15th for the Halloween event. I am so excited! I just wish the whole park would be open. They normally do not open the whole park for Halloween which I understand but it is just a let down that some of my key rides will be closed like Power Surge, Downdraft, Flying Trapeze, and Satellite.
cal1br3tto Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I'm glad to see most of the best rides are fine. I didn't want to overreact to what happened, but I just never knew how worried I should be about the park. Thankfully, they seem to be recovering well.
dellice45 Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I am very impressed they did what they did now only if they could get Black Diamond going, but I do understand the situation they were in with getting the park back up and running. Can't wait to be back in Oct for the halloween event !!!!!!
A.J. Posted September 17, 2011 Posted September 17, 2011 I am going to the park on October 15th for the Halloween event. October 15? Pee-shaw, Phall Phunfest is where it's at! I'm going to be riding Phoenix in a tuxedo!
Reon Posted September 18, 2011 Posted September 18, 2011 I am going to the park on October 15th for the Halloween event. October 15? Pee-shaw, Phall Phunfest is where it's at! I'm going to be riding Phoenix in a tuxedo! So will they have everything ready for PPP? I already requested the weekend off from KI, but since I'm saving for a certain TPR trip next year I'm debating if it would be worth it or if I should just do another park that weekend.... Either way, I'll say it before and I'll say it again. Knoebels is AMAZING in all sencecs of the word. Great food, awesome old school rides, (one of) the best wooden coasters in the world, and even if they get hit by a flood that bad they can get everything cleaned up and bounce back in a week! How is NOT the best park ever?
Ccron10 Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 It's the first week in October and you know what that means... Phoenix Phall Phun Phest is this weekend. Anyone going this Saturday and would be interested in meeting-up? Oh, and expect a Photo TR from me as well.
robbalvey Posted October 5, 2011 Author Posted October 5, 2011 Speaking of Trip Reports, in case anyone missed it in the other thread, we have posted our totally epic TR from TPR's recent tour! http://www.themeparkreview.com/parks/photo.php?pageid=81&linkid=11003
A.J. Posted October 5, 2011 Posted October 5, 2011 Yee-up, I will be going to Phunfest this weekend by ANY MEANS NECESSARY. Unfortunately, my costume will not be, as I really don't want to spend the money to get it dry-cleaned.
A.J. Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Those of you planning on going to Phunfest - it looks like Knoebels has a SURPRISE! waiting in the wings... CLICK! Oh, and I'm pretty easy to spot in a crowd. I'm a lanky ginger with big hair and I'll be wearing a bright-colored shirt. Say hi if you see me!

Now I'm excited. I'll be wearing my bright yellow LaMarcus Bros. t-shirt. and/or a Hersheypark sweatshirt jacket.
QueerRudie Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Black Diamond is OFFICIALLY Listed on the halloween Map- 2.50 per ride...
Ccron10 Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Black Diamond is OFFICIALLY Listed on the halloween Map- 2.50 per ride... It was also listed on the 2011 Summer Season map, but with that being coal mining music, I think it's likely that it may be opening tomorrow.
robbalvey Posted October 7, 2011 Author Posted October 7, 2011 It looked REALLY close to being done when we were there and that was well over a month ago.
sspaz1000 Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 Guess I'm definitely headed to check this out tomorrow.
