SharkTums
Ahh, cool to see finally where they are putting this thing! No wonder we didn't notice. This is technically 'outside' the park, to the left (opposite side of the train station) of the entrance. Can't wait to ride it!
Gutterflower
another new blog and some new supports are up. dont think im expecting much more than a stealth clone here though
Gutterflower
SOrry for double post (but they are several days appart and its new news) this web site http://www.sankei.co.jp/news/060220/kei056.htm has it at 130 kilometers per hour (80miles per hour) and 65m (214ft?) Not 500ft but not too shabby
SharkTums
It looks too small for a Stealth/Ka/TTD type ride. I'm thinking maybe they'll go more Giant Kanonen?!
Shockwave
Those supports on the right look almost identical to Stealth's after the Top Hat. But I'm still hoping on a big looping accelerator too!
Shockwave
Stealth Clone. Oh well. It'll still be a good ride for Space World though.
TheStig
Wow, creativity at its best! Has anyone noticed besides me, that Xcelerator is th only rocket coaster that turns to the right in the vertical twist? Kinda odd, means nothing at all, but odd... Good to see another rocket coaster going up, and isnt this the 11th? Ive seen pictures of another rocket coaster that was recently build (and Im not sure is even open). Oh well...prime numbers are lucky... Colin C
TheStig
^ Yeah I though so! Looks like it also has a S&S Screaming Squirrell... http://rcdb.com/id3465.htm Colin C
DarkStitch626
All these new Accelerator coasters seem to do are the same idea , good launching speed and a hill, I guess thats all the park figured they'd need to simulate a shuttle. It will proberably be "The Shuttle" or something plain in chinese. Why can't parks think of names like "Armegedon!" Its like when Kingda ka was announced the parks management said the ride may be short but it does the job "It hits you like a lightnin bolt" then you go back for more. SharkTums
Darn, oh well, now I don't have a reason to go running back. Kind of a disappointment for a lot of us, but the Japanese will love it!
DerekRx
Well that's kinda a bummer. Oh well, the locals should enjoy it, as there is nothing else like it nearby (except for Dodonpa, which is only slightly similar) Could have been worse, Space World could have finally installed the world's first Arrow-batic! Shockwave
Where did that come from? This will probably get opened before Thorpe Park's version at this rate!
SharkTums
Japan is so awesome!
Shockwave
^Whereabouts in Japan is Space World? My geography knowledge of the country is next to nothing!
Ed
I know it's probably the angle... But that hill looks alot sharper than Stealth's does!
viking86
I know it's probably the angle... But that hill looks alot sharper than Stealth's does! Its probably just the angle because the hill on Stealth looks pretty similar in this pic http://www.rcdb.com/ig3081.htm?picture=
SharkTums
Space World is on the Southern Island of Japan, named Kyushu. About 5 - 7 hours by bullet train from Tokyo. The park is extremely easy to get to and has it's own JR Rail Station. If you look at a map it is near the major city of Fukuoka.
Gutterflower
And up we go Looking very stealth-esque.
Ed
No cool paintjob though.
rollermonkey
The 'reported' height and track length for Zaturn (according to RCDB) are a little larger than Stealth. So while not an EXACT clone, another Mini-Ka has not been ruled out.
ECZenith
At least they can't get away with theming the trains to classic cars. I actually think the paintjob is kinda cool. Appropriate for the park it's in.
rabid disney
I was hoping there rocket was going to be more like Storm Runner or Superman Escape but I guess for locals a new coaster is a new coaster.
stormrider
There's a Youtube video of the ride in action here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmfcJvDG7tU So it borrows alot from Stealth and Kingda Ka.
Jon Sabo
Looks like a mother's child between the two. *Those with sensitive "virgin" ears may want to turn down the sound though (language)..lol
