Chat Room Mods....

Hey everyone,

 

It has come to my attention that we might need to recruit some "chat room mods" to help us monitor the chat, and just make sure people are not being, well "annoying."

 

It's not something I really want to do, and personally I would have hoped that people could be responsible enough to "police themselves" and simply behave. But more and more lately that doesn't seem to be the case.

 

I really want to have the chat room open 24/7 and in order to do that and make sure it's not getting out of hand, we might need some help.

 

If you are interested in being a chat room mod, please PM me and let me know how often you are usually in the chat room, around what time, and why you think you'd make a good mod.

 

Also know that I really am looking to the "chat room regulars" to help out. (and believe me we know who the regulars are)

It looks like you need some people from around the world, becasue I am getting up when you are going to bed! *LOL* I hope you find the right crew for that! I am only from time to time in the chat room and wouldn´t really have the time for that!

One thing you might want to consider is adding a bot. I'm not sure if the current interface supports it, but some bots can be fun (ie. party bots, with 'food', games, and such), and also provide some sort of order (ie. logging conversations, kicking (and even banning).

I've found bots to be more annoying then anytyhing.

A bit off-topic, but what about more moderators for the message boards? I've done that on other sites and would be glad to help out here.

 

As for the chat room, I don't go in there very often, so I will politely decline that position.

LOL, I didn't even know there was a chat room until recently. I think a moderator would be a good idea, but how would they carry out their mod powers?

I won't mind lending my help in being a mod. I'm not an idiot when it comes to chatting and everyone knows me by name when I come in. Plus I already got some skills of being a moderator since I'm a mod on the sfne.com forums.
