razoredge Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 For some of us it was our favourite ride. Some of us hated it. But 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is never coming back.... What would you most like to see replacing it now that they're planning that stupid Pooh's playground?
ChrisZer0 Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Id like to see some sort of minor thrill ride designed for the kids and kids at heart. Something like stitch but with more broadbased appeal.
kenshinmac Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 I believe it is to be a staff area and a playground... Â I think honestly they should use the tunnels for something. Even a walkthrough attraction would be better than nothing. Disney needs more cool rides that can be enjoyed in the summer.
SharkTums Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 AQUATOPIA!!!! Â Â Elissa "that would be cool!" Alvey
nemesis20 Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Hey Aquatopia's a good idea Elissa! But they'd have a high water bill considering they drained it already lol I think it should be a Journey to the Centre of the Earth.
Not For Sale Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 AQUATOPIA!!!!  Elissa "that would be cool!" Alvey Agreed, but how would they fit that into the theming of Fantasyland?
ChrisZer0 Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 JTCE would be a great ride. But, I wonder if another mountain (Space in WDW, Everest in AK) would be in the cards??
Not For Sale Posted March 10, 2005 Posted March 10, 2005 Now for the rumors. When I went to the Dine With An Imagineer program at MGM I asked the Imagineer about what was going here. He said that it is a prime location, and most likely two high quality rides (D-E Tickets)...Don't expect the Hundred Acre Woods to stay long.
CoasterEricHP Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I really hope they do something other than a playground. That's about the best piece of real estate at the Kingdom and all they think is "playground"?!  I heard the same from my friend in the Disney Design Group though.. two attractions, maybe three.. one E ride and two smaller ones... so who knows.  I do think they should put an S&S Tower where the old stage used to be in Tommorowland and put a rocket coaster in there with the speed way  Eric
socalMAN123 Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 Disney and a rocket coaster? No way, that would never work. The top speed Disney would make it go is teh speed of Test Track, and that's really slow for a rocket coaster. Put in an S&S tower kinda like Power Tower, with two launching and two dropping. But then again, Disney would make it like 50 feet tall.
JT3000 Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 I really hope they do something other than a playground. That's about the best piece of real estate at the Kingdom and all they think is "playground"?! Â That's Disney for you. At least they aren't attempting to spend a lot of money on another E-ticket like Mission: Crap.

At least they aren't attempting to spend a lot of money on another E-ticket like Mission: Crap. Hey, I like Mission: Nausea!!!
coasters 4 me Posted March 11, 2005 Posted March 11, 2005 hey, i could imagine a rocket coaster in the magic kingdom! that would be funny. Lol!
Jose Eber Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 O.k. now I want to get pictures for y'all. The ol, arm over the fence. Â The reality is entertainers are a dying bread. And entertaining attractions are a dying breed at WDW as well.

socalMAN123 Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 The 20K site at WDW is just like teh Submarine Voyage lake right? If tehy are the same, PUT IN AQUATOPIA BABY! That would be soooo cool! A good ride at a Disney park. HOLY CRAP!
razoredge Posted March 12, 2005 Author Posted March 12, 2005 I doubt anything they do will involve water now they've drained it. There was a rumour of a splash mountain style 'Villain Mountain' attraction but i can't see them doing that now. Well at least Pooh's Wood will be cute if nothing else

There was a rumour of a splash mountain style 'Villain Mountain' attraction but i can't see them doing that now. Well at least Pooh's Wood will be cute if nothing else Why does everything have to be cute to Disney? I mean, can't they ever make something more like Alien Encounter once and a while?
nemesis20 Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 I can't beleve they did that to Alien Encounter, and then they even had to dumb down Stitch because it was still 'too scary' for the kids. Surely a height restriction would be enough. How about 'Pooh's Haunted Wood Encounter' in pitch blackness....
ChrisZer0 Posted March 12, 2005 Posted March 12, 2005 AE was one of my fave attractions at any park...I think it totally stinks WDW dumbed it down for the "kiddies". I think every kiddo that went in there (with sense) had a great time
CoasterEricHP Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 The 20k site is pretty much smack dab behind the castle. It's just across the midway from Pooh, Snow White, the Carousel, and Dumbo. Â I think a rocket coaster over the speedway is plausable! Of course this is Disney we're talking about so it'd probably be a Vekoma Rocket Coaster... ouch... Anyways, that's just my wish.. I think a real coaster would do well at the MK but would be too much of an eye sore for the park. Â I know Disney is all about kids.. but from my experience (based on turning away countless kids that are wayyy under 54' at Dueling Dragons daily) most kids would rather ride a coaster or a ride a Test Track, or Mission:Nausea, then play on a cheap plastic standard playground that you can find at any decent shopping mall or almost any big or small amusement park. This is DISNEY WORLD.. can't they think of ANYTHING else? Â I guarantee that Auqatopia is more popular with the kids than Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground.. Â Eric
coasters 4 me Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 a vekoma rocket coaster? NO WAY!!! that would kill you if you got on it! Â Yeah, families like thrill rides too, not just a small crap ride thats boring, because small kids like thrill rides.

Surely a height restriction would be enough. How about 'Pooh's Haunted Wood Encounter' in pitch blackness.... There's Disney for ya. And 'Pooh's Haunted Wood Encounter' would probably make kids crap in there pants even though the scariest thing Disney could do is make a tree fall over.
ChrisZer0 Posted March 13, 2005 Posted March 13, 2005 Disney's themepark arm(US) is afraid of one thing right now: Spending money. We've seen this at DCA with its never-ending cheapness. I hope the new administration, who enters after eisner gets the boot, will pump the dollars into themepark spending that it so sorely needs.
