Well suck me sideways, all of that has been built in a month. Already about 100ft. up...which gives us an idea of the impact this building will have on the skyline:

"Zuh Tower of Terror" is scheduled to open on Halloweennight 2007, but looking at the speed this ride is being constructed at, it might open quite a bit sooner.

We'll see...stay tuned !

Anyone else find it amusing that the first ToT opened in 1994, and now all of a sudden from 2004 - 2007 we'll get 3 more!!!

I'm actually shocked it took them 10 years to clone this ride EVERYWHERE!!

Eisner quickly signed a few more papers before he left...hence the flood of new rides (and parks !)

Are there any pieces of concept art avaliable?

Yes...

It will be, minus subtle color changes and details, the same as the one in California.

I'm really looking forward to ride this attraction. I'm fan of Disney and of free-falls. Ofcourse this isn't only a free-fall ride, this one is also beautifull themed and has a nice story.

I'm really impressed how fast they build TOT.

2 years to go,...

No it won’t.

You can already see that it is going to be different.

Look at the window frame styles and the lack of out-of-structure elevator shafts and... well.. lack of anything that looks like the California version!

Only the ride system will the be the same. The tower, theme and everything else will be unique to this installation of the attraction (Just like at DisneySea!). I'd personally expect the building to look more European.

The gothic style windows might be indicating a sort of cathedral styled building. Borderline Gothic and Renaissance. Probably some sort of 17th Century Baroque, perhaps. The windows are the only thing to really judge it by so far.

Hopefully it'll look as pretty as the Tokyo one that's also currently being built.

^the tokyo one is a DCA clone w/ a different theme, so why can't this one be a DCA clone with a different facade???

It's pretty obvious that Eisner didn't want to be creative and build 3 different ToT's, but 3 clones w/ different buildings/themes.

^ I said the ride system will be the same.

But on a ride like this, the theme and visual appearance are most of what the attraction is offering, so when that sort of stuff is different, the whole thing becomes different.

A top spin in a fairground with a zillion spangly lights is bold and energetic. A top spin in a park themed to 'Icarus' is subtle and mysterious.

Same basic attraction, very different resulting ride given.

I think it all had to do with the new parks that opened in 2001 and 2002, being California Adventure, Tokyo Disney Seas, and Paris' Disney Studios.

From 1994 till 2001, they just didn't have the space for the (apparent) massive power supply buildings needed for this attraction, like they had at WDW and the Studios there. And in the DCA one, it seems they 'just' had enough space to fit them in, beside the attration.

So, I guess if any of these three parks had opened earlier than 2001, you probably would have seen a ToT started earlier, etc.

EDIT: I also agree with Cerebus that this Paris ToT will look different than the other three, basically for the same reasons that Phantom Manor looks like it does - for communicating visually, the experience ahead. They'll have to do something different visually, and maybe, just maybe, they aren't really showing all the concept art for this one, hmm?

I'm happy to see WDS get a ride like this one, and I sure will try to get there in late 2007/early 2008 to experience it. Still, I don't care how well they theme this thing to fit in with the cultures of Europe, if the "elevator door" opens and you have to walk thru a hallway to get on the elevator, then get dropped off at the same point you started and you have to walk thru said hallway again, turn the corner and walk thru a very unthemed hallway to get to the exit, its not very well planned nor themed. Oh how I wish they'd make it more like DMGMSs ride system and less like DCAs.

I was at DisneySea last week. They are just starting to uncover the facade. I didn't have my camera with me, but it looks a lot different than CA's and WDS' so far.

R+E will be there soon enough!

^ I hope so. Here's the artwork v for TDS's version, c/o Joe's TDR Photo Site.

Definitely different than the other two ToTs.
