infinitespin Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 I am curious about the status of rides at magic mountain. Is everything running properly? X? Freefall? Also, I recall once going to MM on Christmas, but I noticed that it is closed this Christmas. The year I went on Christmas I remember it was basically empty, such an amazing day to go. Anyhow, does anybody have any experience with crowds in the couple days after Christmas. Thanks. ~Nicko
robbalvey Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 At the moment, this is what's down: Freefall Revolution Roaring Rapids Tilt-A-Whirl This is what has been down recently due to weather (wind or rain): Ninja Deja Vu X This is what is down due to being a lawn ornament: Flashback Everything else seems to be up and running! ---Robb
waterviper Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 LMAO!! Lawn ornament!!! Well looks like another typical day at SFMM with a lot of rides closed! :? Everytime I used to go to SFMM before I moved to Colorado about 3 years ago there was at least 5 or more rides closed during the off season! Looks like its keepin up with its tradition to this day!
arrowfanman Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Dont forget--the Orient Express is down!
infinitespin Posted December 13, 2005 Author Posted December 13, 2005 What about the Sky Tower, is that going to open ever?
robbalvey Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 Sky Tower has not been open since at least 2001. --Robb
infinitespin Posted December 13, 2005 Author Posted December 13, 2005 But did you post a picture from the top of it?
rollercoasterdan Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 I believe the elevator does work, just its closed to public (permits?). And, it was six flags that took those pictures, not Robb.
Homer Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 I believe Sky Tower will reopen when Tatsu opens. It takes quite a few years to plan a coaster, which is why I belive Sky Tower was down. Chances are, I'm wrong, but it seems logical.
socalMAN123 Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 ^ That would be pretty cool if Sky Tower reopened for Tatsu. I mean, all they do as of right now is send people to the top to clean of the bird poop. I think it would be cool if they also opened up Flashback so I can at least get my credit on it! ---Brent 8)
ebl Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 ^ You only get the credit if you survive your ride on that thing. Eric
DATman Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 ^very true. I could only handle 2 rides on that thing.
Loopy Posted December 14, 2005 Posted December 14, 2005 I would want to ride flashback simply because I remember it as "Z-Force" at Six Flags Great America! I was too young to ride it then, but it looked really cool.
coasterboy76 Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 that's what I thought when I saw it at MM, then I rode it, and found it to be an extrememly rough ride! I rode it just for the credit anyway.
Blazen_AZN Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 LMAO!! Lawn ornament!!! Well looks like another typical day at SFMM with a lot of rides closed! :? Everytime I used to go to SFMM before I moved to Colorado about 3 years ago there was at least 5 or more rides closed during the off season! Looks like its keepin up with its tradition to this day! i guess you could say that, but its really not being fair... freefall was down for... somthing, who knows what, but it wasnt being lazy, they did somthing to it... revolution is down for construction, as is roaring rapids. the tilt-a-whirl is down for rehab. and dejavu, ninja, and X are down for weather (which has been particularly nasty recently [for socal anyway]) so really there are only two rides at the mountain which are down on account of the park's neglect. Flashback, and sky tower. skytower, however SHOULD reopen next year. so don't bash them when bashing isnt due! Mark "defending his home park!" W.
chaos Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 Am I the only one who really liked Flashback? Of course, the last time I rode it I was bearly tall enough. Is Thrill Shot down for a while as well, because I've been trying to get on it for the past two years. -Luke
V2-dude Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 I havent been there in awhile and I was just wondering, how many trains is each coaster running?
Scaparri Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 I believe Sky Tower will reopen when Tatsu opens. It takes quite a few years to plan a coaster, which is why I belive Sky Tower was down. Chances are, I'm wrong, but it seems logical. Well, though it isn't a half bad thought, I can't think of any reason why it would be closed while it was being planned. Revolution wasn't. Also, when i spoke to Jeff Pike of GCI in October, though he may deal with woodies, he told me that the whole process from conception to construction takes about a year, and I can't imagine steel being much different.
alpengeistdude321 Posted December 20, 2005 Posted December 20, 2005 I must have went on a good day today. Deja Vu, X, and Ninja were open today. It wasn't crowded at all so I got on everything at least once.
