Here we go, after some dogging I found some photos. If the assumptions are right, in that the lift motor will be mounted the same as X, I would be right.

Photos from TwistedRails.com

Excellent new photo sets, Chris! It looks very menacing... which is a very - good - thing.

I was wondering tho - it may have already been posted here in this thread... but - what is going to be below it all? On the ground there? Plain old asphalt? Maybe something more ... wet and pool-like, perhaps?

Thought I'd ask. Looks like it's going to be a nice one to try in a (hint) year or so (HINT) during a....um....'tour' perhaps?

Great pix, Chris!

The area under and around Double loop was grass and trees. The whole area was plowed under for this construction.

There are still trees on one side of the lot, and the ground surface is actually very similar to up on Mt. Fuji: Lots of reddish brown igneous rock. As the park still hasn't even announced the coaster yet, there's no conceptual artwork to make guesses about possible theming.

I've been On X a lot (this one looks funner) and that last outside raven turn, OUCH! especially on the outside seat. It was kinda bad in the beggining and it's just getting worse and worse. I'm kinda surprised they put one on this. w/e

Awsome Pics!

Will this one be like X and have two lift motors?

X was down last week for about 4 days because one of the motors went poof. Its fixed now, but still, since the "reopening" of X, they did slow down the lift 2.88mph.

Its in the manual.

I was also thinking, will this run under ArrowVision? Or maybe some other software developed by S&S?

I am not sure as to if Fuji's 4D will have two lift motors. As for ArrowVision, Im going to guess its the same program and algorithms etc, but with a name carrying the S&S logo, just my guess.

Thanks for the update Chris!

I approve of its in-depth level of attention to detail! Awesome captions!

^Aha! Maybe that's why they aren't worried about repainting the ride from the wear associated with assembly.

Although I would expect most Japanese amusement parks to powerwash the rides avery 6 months or so.

(Nara dreamland would be the obvious exception.)

It's alright... I have no shame. This is the real reason I'm going to Japan.

Wow! This ride looks like it's got a lot of tricks up it's sleeve! Especially those two... uh... Raven turns. Have fun Wally. Just remember to wear the proper safety restraint. Watch your head on those OTSRs. I'm told they can smack you around pretty good if they arn't on nice and tight. That full full on the front side looks amazing, I wonder if they are gonna have a half half on the backside? I'm wondering if they've done any chassis modification on this one? Cause X rides real rough in the rear. Let me know Wally, as I hope to get to Japan as well next year and I wouldn't want to miss this ride for anything.

P.S. Your little Asian pen pal looks very sweet as well. Mabey you can finally meet her when you get there. You know, for coffee or something.

^Guy, you've let me down.

I give you MAD PROPS in my photo captions, to be read and viewed by thousands of peeps, and you didn't even notice.

Sheesh.

Unknown 4D at Fuji-Q Highlands!

(That's just not as funny as 'screaming' TATSU, to bring it back on topic. )

I'm sorry I have let you down. I indeed noticed your tip of the hat to "It came from the 4th Dimension," and I humbly thank you for it. I will let you know that I only had time to make one post this morning as I was running out the door. So I made it to the one that was most recent. I should have put it in cronological order. My sincerest apologies. I will have you know that your caption has truly inspired me and has begged the need for a 4D Sequel. It may take a while as the ride won't open for several months and I probably won't get to Japan untill next year with Robb & Elissa. But it will happen! I'm thinking this time of taking the rider on a trip into the Fourth dimension.

Thank you so much for your inspiration, as well as the awesome shout out!

I know it's disgusting how dirty the supports are under it....X's lift is pretty slow as it is sheeeesh

Well ArrowVision is just the operator control screen, has nothing to do with the ride operations since Arrow never made PLC's. I assume Arrow used Allen-Bradley PLC's.

The ArrowVision interfaces with the PLC to give the operator status on the ride (as with Road Runner Express at SFFT - Powered by Windows 98), but that is usually not used for maintenance as the Electricians and Mechanics who work on the ride would be versed in PLC maintenance.

Being a Schneider distributor, I hate that American's are so fixated on AB. As for the AB everywhere comments, I am pretty sure that Schneider got the controls on Tatsu. I saw a few Powerlogic meters on the control cabinets and the Integrator on the job is a Scneider user.

I think AB has something like 50% of the US market and less than 1% of the international. Sucks that like Nema, AB seems to have really marketed well in the US and as a result no one else seems to get considered. My guess is Schneider and Siemens will start to erode AB's US share as the new platforms from both companies are more robust than anything AB can offer.

AB looks nice and programs well, but Schneider at least can do everything AB can and more. I guess it is just a matter of time.
