Six Flags St. Louis (SFStL) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Can you use the bring a friend free and the bring a friend for 9.99 in the same day? I have a family of 4 I want to bring in the morning but only 3 of us are going.

I'm gonna say no they won't let you do that..

I would check the fine print on the coupons, but I would guess that you can't.

Bring a Friend Free Jul 14-18

Choose One Day Jul 14-18 to Bring a Friend for Free

Present your valid 2014 Six Flags St. Louis Gold Season Pass card at turnstiles on the date specified and receive one free general admission for a friend. Free friend must enter park when Season Pass is scanned for initial entry, Pass Holder may not re-enter with friend. Only one free friend per Season Pass Holder. Admission cannot be sold and is valid only at Six Flags St. Louis.

The 9.99 one is "one discounted admission allowed" but the free one is not a discounted admission it is free. One is at ticket booth the other is at the turnstile. So in my opinion you can use both but I am not a lawyer, I just act like one online.

I guess I will try calling them, I just don't have much luck with that.

Just in case anyone is curious I was allowed to use both today.

Edit: received an email last night stating I wasn't supposed to be able to do that, so the turnstile agent must have made a mistake. YMMV.

Not a word. Nothing in the park is showing any hints either..... no survey markers, paint marks or anything. Usually by now , some workers have a clue of whats coming, and I know these workers, and they havent said a word yet. It may be one of those years of nothing. Even though thats hard to believe because usually corporate tries to give every park at least something small. Maybe theyre skipping a year to save money for something bigger. I believe in the past 10 years the park has received something except in 2010, but I cant remember for sure on that. If SFSTL isnt getting anything, then hopefully its a major "facelift" year like we were all talking about earlier, but who knows.

With two of the biggest rides, Goliath and Zumanjaro, opening late this year. Besides a couple parks, the final 2015 decisions are being made later than normal this year. As of the last week in June, the Dave Roemer didn't even exactly know what they were getting. My guess is that with corporate video conferences all week this week, 2015 plans may become more solid.

2015 announcement day should be 6 weeks from tomorrow (based on what has happened the last few years), for the parks' to have no idea at this time of the year what is coming in 2015 (very little rumors about anything but the two parks closing roller coasters down), continues to show how clueless Six Flags current coporate mangement is about a long list of things when it comes to operating a theme park company.

That definitely confirms that Iron Boss isn't coming next year. I'm guessing it'll be some type of water park ride, but then again we just got a new water ride this year. Maybe something similar to Extreme Supernova at Great Escape or Demon at La Ronde? I wouldn't complain about either, a new thrilling flat ride of any type would be cool.

Edit: Forgot about Excalibur. So maybe a ride like Extreme Supernova wouldn't be the best addition. However, a top spin like Demon would be pretty cool.

How reliable is Excalibur? I remember riding it in 2010 and it sounded like it was on its last legs with all the creaking it made as the arm made the one revolution. A Frisbee type ride would be a different experience.

It was down a lot of last season because they needed a part but they fixed it up and every time I've visited this season it's been up.

Yeah, it's actually been fairly reliable since the fix last season. I don't really see it going anywhere for a while, but who knows. I wouldn't mind, as I'm not really a huge fan of Excalibur. And as for 2015, I'm gonna guess that we're getting something in the water park, probably from ProSlide.

I'm gonna doubt that Iron Boss is on the table, but maybe some last minute decisions will be made. Dave, if you're reading this, I'm telling you: stick it to the man. Let's get ourselves a world class attraction.

Just kidding, it's gonna be terrible.

The last time I have visited Six Flags St. Louis, "Evel Knieval" (before the name change) was the new ride (and fun), but the thing I remember most was one of the older (age wise)park employees telling me the park was "looking into" a "Flyer"....something that would run to the north of "Screaming Eagle" and back down towards where the waterpark is, due to the elevation changes. I might have posted this to the rumor/crazy ideas thread a few years ago, but I have always thought then and now that this would be a "Significant" coaster for the park....hope it happens one day. I have absolutely no concrete proof, just an employee yapping at me during the line of Screaming Eagle....and again, this was years ago...........

Given that flyers aren't the new hotness anymore and the age of your source, I doubt it. But that does sound like an interesting idea. .

^definitely no iron boss for 2015. If it were to happen SF would have already told people to get their last rides in on the original version like they did with magic mountain and new england. But I did some digging and it sounds like something new might be coming next year, but dont get too excited......

Do you know if it is significant, or something like a show or small attraction?
