StLCPfan
Did anybody on here do the overnight marathon Wed-Thurs? I don't think they would have repainted Ninja last year if they knew it wasn't sticking around for a couple more years. But with the addition of Boomerang it will probably be the first coaster to be considered for removal if they don't plan on expanding to the east. SFZIP
The marathon didn't happen, don't if it was because of the accident or why, but it was moved to a friday night in September.
ArizonaGuy
Is Boomerang back up and running???
HWFan
Great news! I can confirm that, unless something crazy happens to disrupt this, Batman: The Ride will be repainted for the 2014 season. It will continue to be black instead of yellow, however.
prozach626
^^ Would have loved to see blue, but I'm happy with the repaint, period. Who's your source? Are they doing anything with the queue?
SteveStL
Good news, but Yellow would help to add some color to the Skyline.
Vonni
^ Right, and help differentiate it between Ninja as well. The both just blend together from the distance. I'd also like to see Ninja red again.

Peeps28
finally got to ride boomerang Saturday night rite before close.about a ten minute wait.i have to admit the ride wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.a little rough on the brakes on your way up to go back down in reverse.our 5 year old enjoyed it.they really have to do something about that parking lot behind waterpark.i know it doesn't get used a lot.but its due for some overhaul. HWFan
^^ Would have loved to see blue, but I'm happy with the repaint, period. Who's your source? Are they doing anything with the queue? My source is my monthly lunch with Dave Roemer. We bounce a lot of ideas back and forth off each other. They chose black mainly because it needs painting the least compared to yellow. When it comes to the queue, a lot of theming elements that are falling apart will be removed, and there will be some rehab to the remaining queue. I can't share most of what we talk about partly because it's not set-in-stone plans, but I will say that the future is very bright for the park. Also, I had the opportunity to test ride the SkyScreamer backwards for Fright Fest. I personally thought it was awesome.
deathbydinn
^ They need to be adding theming to Batman's queue, not removing it. It's line was in a very sad state when I went last year. I don't get why so much of the theming has been removed from the Batman rides chain wide. But if they're working on it hopefully they'll add some shortcuts to it, especially in the garden section. Sky Screamer backwards would be kind of interesting I guess, but I'm surprised they would pick running that backwards over a coaster.
StlSS
Yeah they let the theming just die seems like its good for a while then the themed pathways just become an annoying maze to get to a ride. The Batman seemed to be the easiest possible theming. "Urban Junk" but hey it worked now we have "gravel" sorry ..."urban gravel"
prozach626
Thanks for the information, HW fan. I'm hoping the queue gets shortened, in addition to rehabed.
DanM64
^^ & ^^^All the "junkpile" theming was removed from the Batman clones right when Six Flags started with the "Cleanest Theme Park in the World" stuff. I guess Shapiro decided the theming looked too "dirty." I really wish they'd bring it back. You're entering the station to a freaking storm drain, it's supposed to look dirty!! jray21
It's still odd to me after all these years to be reading reviews of a new coaster and have it being a boomerang.
Vonni
Its been a while since I've been to Fright Fest. The last time I was there (and every time before that) there were only two haunted houses, the haunted hayride, and the family friendly haunted train ride. Do they have more haunts now, and has anyone heard anything new for this years Fright Fest?
theymitbgi
They had 4 upcharge haunted houses last year. One near batman, the backlot terror tour drivethrough, the slaughter house(mine train building), and the best by far was in the covered pathway between thunder river and mr freeze. It was well worth the price. Last year they had a flash pass type package for the haunted houses and we did all of them 2-3 times. I haven' t heard any news/ rumors about this year. Vonni
^ Well I'm glad to see it has certainly expanded since I last did Fright Fest! I'd like to see a haunted woods/trail attraction somewhere near the back of the park. They have plenty of wooded area to do so....
Woodie Warrior
Visited the park today. We arrived around one and immediately used our dining passes to eat at Macho Nacho Burritos. Definitely the best food in the park. It is higher quality and healthier than Taco Bell, but it took way too long to get our food. American Thunder was, as always, short but sweet and full of airtime. Mr. Freeze: Reverse Blast was fun. River King Mine Train was boring. Same old, same old. On a side note, the ENTIRE parking lot was full. Yes, even the side that I have never seen full since around three or four years ago. I guess the water park must have been near full, because the theme park wasn't very busy.

HWFan
I think that part of the higher attendance this year has to do with the thrill and season passes. This year is the most we've ever sold. With the thrill pass being the same price as a one day admission, they've had us really pushing that at ticket sellers.

ernierocker
The park was busy today as well. I was very impressed with the park which came as a surprise after the first two Six Flags experiences we had on the Texas/Midwest trip. All the staff from the managers to the ride-ops were awesome. An Iron Boss could really do this park wonders.
deathbydinn
^^ Thrill Passes are only good for the park you bought it at, don't include Fright Fest and don't come with any of the perks a normal season pass does.

An Iron Boss could really do this park wonders. Would you be ok with shortening the Boss in order to feed costs down? Or would you keep it the same instead? What about a barrel roll or two and no I-beam track or whatever it's called? That's what Dave Roemer asked me when I suggested Iron Boss.
