dougr Posted November 25, 2005 Share Posted November 25, 2005 Well, When I went to Vegas in September, Manhatten Express, really wasn't all that bad, I had a smooth ride in the middle of the train. See, I keep hearing about these "smooth rides" people keep getting on Manhattan Express. I'm just not buying it! In fact, if some one could show some proof of these smooth rides, I'd LOVE to see it! Â But what I CAN show you is proof of how rough the ride is. Â Here is a small clip from the video we took just a couple hours ago. I apologize for the crappy quality, I didn't have my firewire cable with me, so I had to grab the footage via USB, which sucks. Â But anyway, enjoy this short Manhattan Express clip..... Â Ouch! restoca Posted November 25, 2005 Share Posted November 25, 2005 I stayed at New York, New York in January 1997 just a few weeks after it opened and learned quickly that Manhattan Express was more fun to watch than ride. :? And I had read such good things about Bandit... Â I wouldn't get on it today. And after watching that clip it should be called Manhattan Ex Press Your Luck! Looks and sounds like the track will rip the wheel assembly right out from under the train! Â Last time I was there Canyon Blaster was still a good ride. robbalvey Posted November 25, 2005 Author Share Posted November 25, 2005 So tonight we had our Thanksgiving dinner at Tratoria de Lupo at Mandalay Bay which is probably our favorite Vegas restaurant. Â Elissa has her amazing hand made fresh raviloi's, I had my sausage and polenta and Derek had some random chicken thing. It was totally a "foo-foo" meal which totally puts Mythos to shame. Â After that had some more fun with the slut machines, had another beer at the Monte Carlo Brewery, came back to the room played some strip Mario Party for money, and now it's time to just hang out before going to bed. Â Here's some photos from tonight..... And let me just remind everyone of the happy faces of Manhattan Express! Maybe just one beer is ENOUGH for Robb! Elissa tounges her High Roller Red. Back at the brew pub for some Belgian Ale. "Two years with Robb is more than enough! I want my half-naked Aussie men!" 5 cent Monopoly slots! We sure are high rollers!!! New at Luxor - the pissed off Carrot Top show! Foo-foo dessert alone was $25! Lupo's is awesome, but what's with the upside down sheep??? Robb gets freaky with a red pepper. Derek has some foo-foo chicken. On our way to Mandalay Bay, we made a stop at the catle to pick up some wenches. We call these guys the "porn slappers" They slap the porn together to get your attention. It really is an "art form" kind of like the "sign twirlers!" Â When I lived in vegas, all the Aussie thunder would be at the gay bars after the show, usually at Gypsy, but now that there's a gay resort there, they probably go there. Â If you go to circus again, go to the west casino, and drop $20 in a $5 slot, one coin at a time, preferable on a red-white-blue, Moohla, or Peppers machine. The place was AWESOME! We had seen it before, but had never eaten there. Now we have at least two "foo-foo" places to go to next time in Vegas, and both by Food Network Iron Chef's! Â Ok, onto today's photos.... "Here Roy....c'mon out...I won't bite you!" The white tigers looking for their next victim..... "Let's go see what's left of Sigfried & Roy!" Forget coasters! We're escalator enthusaists now. Ceasar's is great. Partial nudity and curvey escalators! Did someone ask for a photo of the chocolate fountain? Here you go! Crazy-eye Robb! ATTACK POO-LOOKING ICE CREAM!!!! That is one DAMN LUCKY bowl of ice cream! "Guuuuuurr....YUUUUUMM....DESSSERT!" "No, Robb! Eat JUST the burger...not the plate!" Yay! The chicken tacos come "Elissa Friendly" style where everything is on the side, and Robb can eat the Elissa rejects! Derek got some habanero chicken thingy which looked mushy, but was really good! The spicy goat cheese queso dip with blue corn chips kicked serious ass, but Elissa would not be eating this! So far Elissa's plate seems to be empty! The place was very 'contemporary' with a theme of southwestern food. Will Elissa find something to eat here? "Hey, check me out! I'm Bobby Flay, you can see me on the Food Network cookin' up some Elissa Friendly Food!" Yeah....Mesa Grill (they didn't have enough money for the full letters!)
