HWFan
I'm glad you had so much fun and got to meet Donna! I've gotten to know her pretty well at SFSL, and she's one of the smartest/nicest people. I invited her to go around with me on opening day in the afternoon (as my only job was to talk to Guests about their day), and it was cool to see how passionate she was talking to the Guests about the ride. I convinced her to play a game after she saw a cape she liked. She's just a really cool person to meet. Here's the pic of her celebrating her win: A Glorious Win Wasting no time, Rich Hill, John Wood, and Lauren are all here at SFSL today, and a few full-timers got to preview the ride today. I was down there for a bit and even after touring the construction a half-dozen times, it still amazes me with how cool it looks. One of the main differences between SFOT and SFSL seems to be the queue. Our queue is broken up into three rooms, so 90% of it is indoors with just a bit of extra overflow queue built outside. In the end, it's an amazing ride. Just wait five years, and I think you'll see some really cool stuff going on with the existing and new rides. ArizonaGuy
It looks like Six Flags is definitely trying its best to get back in the game. With JLBFM, BTR, Twisted Colossus, and Wicked Cyclone it looks like it's going to be an awesome year. All parks are pretty much going to have their new attractions up and running by this weekend. Texascoaster89
Good for Six Flags Over Texas, I'm hoping to make it out there tomorrow after work, if not, I'm off Friday and I'll try and get in early! Now, I don't know if I'm the only one, but now I hope and pray that we get a big new coaster to bring the last 4 years all together! But for now, this ride looks fantastic! johnychen
Great report Chadster. Nice seeing you at the event. I actually got a couple of photos of you while I was taking pictures of the ride vehicle and setup. They really mounted and lot of camera equipment on those ride vehicles. KBrylczyk
Looks like it should be fun. I'm usually not big on shooting dark rides but they're always fun enough for a diversion. Can't wait to check out this and the rest of the park next week!
Erik Johnson
Thanks for the report! It looks like another real winner from Sally. I am curious, did any of the preshow footage have any live footage or was it all CG? Sally Corp, downtown Jacksonville, Florida.
chadster
Thanks guys. The preshow is CG with the exception of the cyborg animatronic and very well done. I'm told cyborg took one man 6 months to hand craft, and then he started on the second one. He is so detailed in every way that the welds on his skeleton frame were ground down and polished. Rich told me that if you took the skins off that the actual moving parts and the way it's done is more of a work of art than the outside skins. Bag_O_Laughs
Love the joker animatronic, he's just as impressive now as he was in IAAPA. however I'm not sold on the CGI. It looks like a PS2 game. I don't understand why ride movies suffer so much with this (not all ride moves of course) but for a pre-rendered movie in 2015 I expect more. Still looks fun! aeyrolet
My highest score was ~ 268000, and I found some of those secret targets. Anyone else know what I'm talking about?
chadster
After more people have ridden I'll share some of my favorite targets that pile on the points if they've not been mentioned by others, no fun in cheating straight out of the box!! For now, my new high score Remember if you have a 6 on the end of your score you've found the ultimate Easter Egg!

mikeykaise
What an awesome ride, another great job by Sally, Voyage to the Iron Reef could have been this good instead of just meh if Sally had worked on it.
Texascoaster89
I just realized you sick people have a 400 foot Sky Screamer. I'm going to have a heart attack. I have no problems holding arms up while riding a ride like Top Thrill Dragster, or any coaster for that matter...but this overgrown swing set on a windy day actually bothers me. Am I the only one? I went to Cedar Point last week and their version of the rider I feel much "safer" if that makes sense. You get a lap restraint like on any big roller coaster along with a nice bar in front of you. I just feel too vulnerable on our Sky Screamer. I'm sure that's part of the effect, but.......

I'll see if I can muster up the courage to go on the one at SFNE but it's likely that I just lie to myself saying I don't have time for it in order to catch all credits and a few extra rides on Wicked Cyclone and Bizarro. PhilNotPhil
I haven't been able to get on SkyScreamer a second time. That thing did the job on me. I was impressed. Not quite as impressed as I was by the people I saw on my last trip intentionally twisting the cars around almost 360 degrees. Insanity. The twisting is the scariest part to me. Texascoaster89
I don't mind the twisting so much as just staring at a wimpy bike chain in front of me holding the seat up (Yes I know there's an actual arm behind the seat). I also just am not a fan of the wait for it. Maybe Six Flags had an agreement with Funtime and Cedar Fair had an agreement with Mondial. I have to say that after being on both models, the Modial version is much better. It feels WAY more secure as a rider AND it can hold an astounding 64 people per ride! It can chew up the line which ours is not very good at (especially with SFoT ride ops). In other news, I gave the JLBFM a couple of spins yesterday. I was VERY impressed with how it turned out, I feel like a lot of people were on the "that was a lot better than I was expecting" train; I was also. The graphics during the shooting scenes really pop out at you and make you feel a part of the action. Good job Six Flags on this one, now like the memes with my hands crossed, I'll sit back and hope for a large new coaster next year or a few thrilling flat rides to bring the park together. We have a great dark ride now, but we have some gaps in our park. I personally hope that Six Flags starts doing what Cedar Fair did and that's totally revamping the front entrances with a new coaster as eye candy. Maybe I'm crazy, but I always believed that they should completely revamp the front, that would give them more room without building into parking like they did with Titan and just make a permanent entrance by Titan like they do on a temporary basis giving them 2 entrances. TexasParkman
Went to the park to ride JLBFM....WOW.we were in the very end of the switchbacks in the Centinial Park portion. We entered the line at 7:50 and entered the ride vehicle at 9:15. The ride was good. I was our lobby was "grander"- other than that I wouldnt change anything. I did 8 days in Orlando in march..... IMHO is in the same league with Spidey and Transformers. It is not better, just in the same league. Shooting through the smoke was a nice touch. The sets are very good. I am tempted to ride and not shoot just to compare the ride and the storytelling. I really enjoyed the ride. SFOT has a winner here I believe. chadster
Wow, a 1:25 wait with a full queue on a brand new ride is not bad at all, glad you liked it!
Sportsdude360
I just took a couple of rides on JLBFM, even though I had to stand in the rain most of the day. All I can say is WOW!!!! the theming is the best SFOT has ever done in its history. The ride itself is truly world class with the last two chase scenes being worth the wait all by themselves. The Cyborg and Joker animatronics are truly spectacular. The ride is fun from start to finish and gives the park a fantastic new attraction.
