Six Flags Over Texas (SFOT) Discussion Thread

^They don't? Wow, but then again SFSTl really doesn't have any single rider lines at all do they? SFOT has four and they do make a difference, I've never waiting more than a few minutes on rides with a SR line.

^^Agreed, it was an afterthought. They were originally making people pour drinks out before getting in line, but with the heat that's not practical. So the solution for now is pour your drinks out in buckets before you enter the A/C building.. Give them time though, I think a permanent pour your drink out here station is on the horizon, but as far as a leave your drink here station goes, I wouldn't expect to see it.

Eh.. i can imagine a drain where you could do that.. but it would get really sticky and attract insects.. eww

I'm not one to complain about amusement parks as they are hard to run, but this trip I just took was possibly the most disappointing experience of my life. Mainly on part of the staff. They were so incredibly rude and slow, it was horrible. An op at Titan was trying to tell a lady to put her bag somewhere else and the op said "use yo brain woman, but I doubt you got one" In one of my drinks a peice of the soda machine nozzle was in it! That plastic thing was so gross. The lady who have us a drink more than likely lnew what happened because she gave us an odd look. She then walked away giggling. So much else happened like that it made me insanely mad. I was going to spend the rest of today there but we left to go back to wichita. I honestly don't want to come back because I know nothing will change.

I’m planning a road trip that includes the following stops:

Six Flags Over Texas Sunday and Monday, June 14 and 15, 2015;

Six Flags St. Louis Thursday, June 18, 2015;

Silver Dollar City Friday, June 19, 2015.

My main interest is in the coasters. If anyone would like to meet up for some rides, please let me know. Thanks.

That's why you install a water nozzle on it to keep things flowing, like at the ice cream shop for the scoops.

Did you report your experience to guest relations? They do have a habit of taking action and making things right.

That would be great, but considering Six Flags cant even keep running misters, i doubt this will stay either.

I went today and weather wasn't great but it shortened lines. A bunch of rides were closed for about an hour around 2PM and after that lines sort of vanished (hint: use these ride closures to get meals). We got in relatively early but due to random rain the original plan changed quite a bit. I'll get a Photo TR once I'm home since this was just day 1 and I'll probably post some random daily updates in this thread.

Just visited SFOT a few days ago for the very first time!

Rode everything once.

Highlights:

NTaG was awesome! That airtime hill after the 3rd overbank is insane, length is great, but I still prefer IRAT.

Mr. Freeze was much better than I was expecting.

Texas Sky Screamer was terrifying.

Justice League was great.

The park was clean.

Honestly the park is really missing a big looping coaster such as a floorless B&M. Hopefully the park gets something soon to fill that.

The only thing that bugged me was the staff. Some of the worst operations I have experienced at an amusement park.

They were lazy, slow, and just looked miserable. I witnessed 6 minute dispatches on NTaG.

Overall it was a decent visit! I will definitely go back soon.

I think a wingrider or floorless would be nice. The park has a shortage of B&Ms imo.

I wouldn't say shortage unless we are talking about SFA or SFM. Two B&Ms, both incredibly forceful, is pretty good.

Yes, I am classifying Titan as a B&M, since it uses the same track and Giovanola had relations with B&M.

Titan doesn't feel like a B&M to me, honestly. It has the same track and all, but the layout isn't really B&M's style. When I think B&M hyper (closest B&M style to Titan), I think clamshell restraints and out and back with floater airtime hills.

SFOT is still in more dire need of an Intamin than a B&M, I'll give it that.

Because La Vibora is too much of a novelty coaster to count as a normal Intamin.

I will never be able to understand why people prefer iRat to NTG... iRat just bores me. NTG is... relentless, its.. AMAZING!!!

It's neat to see how each person views each coaster differently.

Iron Rattler is far from boring, but I agree on NTaG being better. Iron Rattler is missing the high positive G that you get between hills on NTaG, and it doesn't last nearly as long. Although the first drop on IRat wins and so does the setting, but as for the coaster itself I prefer NTaG. I also find NTaG more rerideable.

Visited for the first time today. I think I might be the only person to be slightly underwhelmed by NTaG... It's still a fun coaster but I found the pacing to be kinda dull and monotonous. It has airtime but not much more than that going for it in my opinion, and it's hard to enjoy when you're stapled anyway. I also found it to be kinda slow in general... This could be because I was on Outlaw Run only a couple days ago and Twisted Colossus a week before that, so my RMC expectations were high.

Other than that it was a pretty brutal day at the park - little relief from the heat and dismal operations, but I expect that from six flags haha.

I wonder how long Giovanola's relationship lasted with those women?

I would not count Titan as a B&M...

Glad I'm not the only one who thought this. Rattler destroyed any hope for Texas Giant for me.
