I just canceled my gold legacy memberships, I'm going to just buy the season passes in full now. The price differences simply weren't worth considering I'm saving $100+ now a year.

The 3 main differences are...

I had 20% merch discount down to 10%. I don't buy enough merch to warrant paying extra for 10% difference.

2 bring a friend free ticket down to 1 bring a friend free ticket per pass. Not worth paying extra for me.

1 refillable drink bottle down to 0. I don't drink that much soda to begin with and usually bring in water bottles anyway so I'm fine with this.

I'll also have access to all the Cedar Fair parks now too and for less money than I've been spending per month. They had raised the memberships 2x in the span of like 8 months and it just became not worth it at that price point. Now with it being cheaper and I can go to Dorney a few times a year as well it just made sense to cancel and get the new season pass.

I'm also owed $20 back per membership because of a refundable deposit so it's going to be interesting to see how long and how much of a headache they make that for me. It's also a reason I'm not interested in buying new memberships since it says the $20 is non refundable per pass now. I just don't see any benefit anymore in getting a membership over just paying in full for the season pass.

Yeah, I don't care that much about merch discount or bring a friend free either, I often don't even use all the bff that I have. Which is why the food was possibly the tipping point for me. I guess I just need to sit down and do the math and calculate the differential between buying food or not and see what the difference is likely to be and if it's worth it. Of course this means I have to do math 😒

I think also a little part of me is reluctant to give up the memberships just because I've had them for soooo long and I know once I do there's no going back. On the other hand that's a very first world problem and probably not worth all the consideration I'm giving it, lol.

So............per my previous posts I've been a dog with a bone over trying to find someone who can give me an answer about the future of the meal plan that is currently on the DE VIP memberships. Well I was finally able to speak to an actual customer service person at the corporate office today and got an answer. Maybe. According to her the current meal plans on memberships will still be available in 2026 at all legacy SF parks but not legacy CF parks. However, I'm somewhat skeptical because 1) She did not immediately know that answer and had to go "find out" 2) That is the same as this year if you did the all park passport add on and 3) She seemed really unsure about the whole thing. In the end I think the only way to know is to try it out next year and see if and where it works 🤷‍♀️

You can add the all parks dinning plan that is 2 meals per visit. $155. I think you need ten meals to make it worth your time

Yes, IF you get one of the new passes. But you cannot add it on to a membership. And even if you could that would be dumb because it would cost way more than getting a prestige pass and doing the add-on

I was told "yes" you can add that $155 dining pass to any legacy membership.

They allowed you to add meal plans on memberships this year. Can't imagine that will change. Like this year, you'll probably have to visit guest services to get it all squared away after purchase. You will have to pay the full amount up front.

I went online to see if you could add the dining when this question came up before and it wouldn't let me BUT I have no idea if that was because it wasn't working properly, or because it knew that I already have dining on my membership so therefore it would be redundant, or what. I mean it's a moot point for us because we already get 2 meals and a snack grandfathered in our membership. I think right now it's all somewhat of a crapshoot depending on what day it is and who you are dealing with.

Not to derail this conversation about passes. Seems like i missed something that people keep saying Peanuts characters might be leaving  cedar fair parks? I rad that they own the rights till 2030 for now?

Not sure if i missed something else.

Supposedly the Peanuts license for the chain concludes at the end of this year, with an option to extend it to 2030.  No one really knows if they have extended it or not, and with the doom and gloom surrounding SFEC as a whole, people are speculating that since it's supposedly cheaper to rebrand everything to Looney Tunes (or just de-brand everything), that's what they're going to do.

It's just more frustrating speculation based on rumors and hearsay if you ask me.

IMHO, if they were going to let the contract expire, they wouldn't have installed Peanuts-themed things this year, but I'm not an "industry insider" who gets paid by generating clicks on my videos/articles, so what do I know, right?

When I went to add dining, it was insistent that the plan would only be good for legacy Six Flags parks so I didn't. If it was good for legacy Cedar Fair parks, I would definitely have added it on. We will have at least eight days in Six Flags parks next year (road trip: SFFT --> SWSA --> CotaLand --> SFOT --> SFFC --> SDC --> WOF --> SFSL & a separate trip of two days at CP), but four of them are legacy Cedar Fair.

I was just at SFOG on Monday, and they had in park electric signs (ie: advertising) featuring Peanuts characters.  (Charlie Brown, Woodstock, and Snoopy).
over by the Theater next to Monster Mansion, and across from the Mine Train.

it was so noticeable, I even pointed it out to those I was there with.

you should adjust that slightly:  Start at SWSA, then SFFT, then Schlitterbahn (which you pass on the way towards Austin, in New Braunfels - I suspect COTAland won't be open yet, so you will likely have a free day to visit one of the best waterparks in the USA)

The all parks dining works at all parks in 2026 just like the product title and description say.

It very clearly says it will only work at legacy Six Flags parks.

We rarely touch water parks. If Cota isn't open, we will likely replace it with a lengthy detour to Magic Springs in Arkansas and adjust the park order accordingly.
