^ It's like that huh? I never said they wouldn't get wet... I simply said "Drench" seemed like and overstatement.

Hahaha who said it was you I was referring to with that comment? Always thinking everything's about you... gosh!

Anyone going opening weekend? It's in 2 weekends! I'm going to try and go down, but it's not looking good.

I'm planning on going opening day! It's the beginning of my spring break, got my Gold Pass in December, mind as well get a head start on using it!

Hello everyone,

Never been to this park and will be coming all the way from Baltimore the first week of April. Here at Six Flags America you can not take bags up on the platform for almost all coasters at the park. Does this park have this same policy? I figure it does but I keep hearing rumors the park does not enforce it.

Thank you!

Thank you!

They do enforce the rule on most of the major coasters: Medusa, Superman, Roar & Kong, but V2 & Boomerang have cubbies where you can store your stuff since they only have 1 train.

They will make you go back and put your stuff away, but I've seen some of the ride ops let people come back through the exit rather than waiting in line again. Also, on Superman I've seen people have their friends ride first, then hand their stuff over to the friend as that person exits the ride.

However, since the major coasters are basically in two areas, I find it easier just to get a darn locker and then ride all the coasters in that area.

I'm juiced, just got a season (gold) pass for SFDK, going this saturday! Time to ride Full Throttle Jr (S:UF) and take advantage of the morning ERT session (Since S:UF is a Premiere coaster, I plan on shouting YOLO! as the ride shoots out of the station, similarly to how I'll shout Take the Tunnel when I hop on Gold Striker)

We decided to do so since we're heading to SFMM next month, may as well just spend a bit more and get the pass since I need to reunite with one of my #1 steel coasters.

So question of the night for you SFDK veterans: Are fanny packs allowed to be worn on the rides or do they have to be stashed in a fluffy bunny?

^ Fluffy Bunny, cal1br3tto found that out the hard way back in December when they denied her at one of the rides.

And S:UF is NOT YOLOcoaster Jr.! First, Junior can't come before Senior, second... Superman was and never should be dumbed down to YOLO standards.

^Early entry appears to be a special event and is for all season pass holders on both days:

http://www.sixflags.com/discoveryKingdom/events/OpeningWeekend2013.aspx

Season Pass Holder Exclusive!

In honor of SUPERMAN Ultimate Flight's second year, Season Pass holders can enter the park TWO HOURS EARLY on either March 16 or 17! Enjoy the rides at Roar Plaza - SUPERMAN, Roar and V2 before the park opens. Just show your Season Pass at the main gate and follow to Roar Plaza.

Also the double rides on all coasters is for all guests all opening weekend long:

To mark the second year of SUPERMAN Ultimate Flight, you can ride all of our roller coasters two times in a row, all weekend long! That's right. TWICE the thrills and two times the fun!

The double rides is a nice added bonus for everyone to enjoy!

I didn't realize that this promotion was happening. I wasn't originally planning on going opening weekend, but I just might have to head to SFDK this Sunday for a few hours...

I would wear nylon shorts with zippers. Got mine at Sports Authority. They are great. All I take to the park is a small coin case(Kipling brand) which I store a little money & ID & the other pocket I store my phone which is all I need to take to the park. & Believe it or not a freezer bag works on the rapids ride. Before riding I put my money & phone in the bag & it fits flat in my pocket & is nice & dry after the rapids.

My wife sowed some zippers onto my TPR hoodie, and it works great! Costco had some nice cargo shorts with tons of zipper pockets last year, I'm hoping they have them again this year.

I will be in the Bay Area this weekend, and my stop by the park. We'll see though, I may not have a ride as I'm driving with my parents.

I think that for this weekend I'll take my bag and cave in for a locker. I want to get some more photos of S:UF and now that I've been messing with RAW on my camera, I really wouldn't mind getting some nice shots of it. Future visits I'll just take the necessities (Wallet, phone, sunglasses...anything that can be stuffed in a pocket).

Looks like the weather's going to be nice this weekend, perfect for theme parks! I can't wait to do the whole 'double laps' thing as I'm itching to increase my S:UF lap count. I also still need my Roadrunner credit as I keep pushing it off.

The park just posted on Facebook wait once ride twice for tom & Sun only in celebration of Superman's one year anniversary. Is that for season pass holders only & will cost extra? & Does this mean the park will be extra crowded?

My interpretation is that the double rides were for everyone. The 2 hour ERT is for SPH only. I was actually just thinking about the double ride promotion and at first I was bummed that I couldnt go but then I thought about how slow the lines will be moving with everyone riding twice.

I'm able to attend a 1/2 day tomorrow! I'll be there bright and early!

I just hope I'll be able to purchase a Season Pass there, since I don't have access to a printer!

Update: good morning everyone! Superman received a catwalk during the offseason. Time to get in the park and ride now!

^ Takis ads...certainly tacky!

The double rides thing was certainly a fail on the guests behalf as the park is currently packed...top it off with the coasters (excluding Medusa) are single train. I got the bulk of my riding done before the park opened if that says enough. I'll post the full report later but figured I'd share something as I wait in Medusa's twice-as-long wait.
