Do You Bother With Water Parks?

Recommended Posts

Use to I HATED water parks. I would avoid them at all cost.

However, as times have changed, and the older I have become. . . I find myself actually enjoying Water Parks, enough to the point where we actually plan vacations now to include water parks. I could spend an entire day at a water park just floating around a lazy river. Though, I do love me a nice trapdoor slide!

I am as much a water park fanatic as I am coaster. I can spend the majority of the day in a water park when it is included with the regular park. Im really excited and cant wait for volcano bay to open!

I like water parks but don't visit them often except when I go to Dorney. When I am visiting a new park like last year at Kings Islamd and Cedar Point, my focus was getting all the coasters in and other rides in the dry park I wanted to try. When I visit Dorney when Wildwater Kingdom is open, I usually ride each coaster once, a few flats and spend the majority of my time in the water park and riding the water rides in the amusement park.

I like going to water parks not mainly for the slides (which are basically equivalent to the coasters at an amusement park), but for the big play structures. Being a small child inside, there's just cool stuff for me to discover and play with around every corner.

I don't do the water parks that much anymore though there are still a few slides I want to try. Of the ones I have visited I have always liked Kings Island's water park the most. I've been to Holiday World but never Splashin' Safari (this was back when Voyage was new). I've always wanted to visit The Beach across the freeway from Kings Island since they've reopened but it's hard when KI is the focus of any trip to SW Ohio.

When we used to have Geauga Lake I would hit WWK first thing for a few hours then spend the rest of the day on the rides.

I was never a big fan of water parks. I prefer sticking to the coasters. I find most body slides uncomfortable & only really do the tube slides & lazy river I would say though that my favorite water park is Blizzard Beach in Disney because of the theme.
