I couldn't wait to show pix I just found, of this new attraction being built in Amsterdam. All the more so, because hopefully, it will have opened just before I arrive there for a week's+ stay, end of this month!

And the whole system is built in an already existing church! Now that's unique, hmm? And I do believe there's a hill in there, if you look closely? With a reverse track turntable, too?

This is definitely going to be a neat unexpected add-on to my visit there.

Note: All pix are from www.whooshmagazine.com

(Also - sorry the pix are shown in reverse order. I still haven't gotten numbering sequences and posting skills, etc. down good...yet. )

I think it starts around here, on this part of the track. Hmmm. Wonder if you start forward, or backward...

What the upper track passes over...

The turntable - and can you see the hill yet? Heh heh heh.

The lower track and a car 'base' it looks like, on it. Hmmm...

Now you can see that hill, right?

And this is the company that produced the Dungeons of London - Edinburgh - and Hamburg. I believe these other three 'Dungeons of...' have boat rides thru them? And none of them in a converted church like this, yes? No?

Ah those wonderful, crazy Dutch peeps. What were they smoking when they dreamt this one up, LOLO???!

If every church had one of these, I know I'd be coasting my way to heaven!

For the really good airtime, ride the Moses train in the back.

I do believe the other three use a boat ride thru part of their setup.

But Am'dam's is the first with a coaster element.

I also just found out, that this will cost (adult) 14.50 Euros admission  That's quite alot for a coaster credit, lol. I realize it's for the entire 'package tour' with talent involved. Not just a coaster ride...

Ah well, a credit IS a credit, and this will be a pretty unique one, yes?

I find this quite funny actually.

When visiting foreign countries with vast, extravagant churches I'm always sitting there bored, tracing the walls with my eyes wondering how cool it'd be to suspend a coaster from the ancient architecture whilst everyone else just admires the windows or something

I'm surprised nobody kicked up a fuss about it too!

The Edinburgh Dungeon features a boat ride with vampires--as I recall, it's basically darkness, spooky sound effects (such as evil whispering), and some basic dark-ride monster-on-a-spring-or-wire effects. Pretty cheesy (not that this is necessarily bad--I thought the place was a hoot). And I think the "boat" actually rolled on wheels in a few inches of water.

I wonder if there has been any letters to say a coaster should not be built in a church.. Good place for 1 I say.

Amen to that (no pun intended)! Some like this may actually get my ass into church.

you have to remember that this is NOT America...

also, a church basically loses its purpose when it's not used what it was orginally intended for. It becomes just "another fancy building"

Heck, the Church at Williams Grove was turned into a Laser Tag arena!!!!

"Holy Laser Tag, Batman!"
