sushi-x Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) The Facebook page is hinting at something new coming. Many have said it's a drop ride replacing the hangman. I wonder if the schwitek could chime in. Edited April 27, 2014 by larrygator
Shavethewhales Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I'm hoping they announce today. The park opened yesterday I believe. They apparently hadn't planned to add a new ride this year (White Water Bay is getting some new slides), but an opportunity came up so they took it. Not sure what that means, but hopefully its a quality, park model ride with some decent thrills. FC is lacking a good marquee attraction that isn't 30 years old.
larrygator Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 (edited) "Flying in soon" - I predict an Air Race or Flying Scooters. They seem to be the hot selling flat rides of late. Edited April 27, 2014 by larrygator
Shavethewhales Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 A flying scooters would make sense for the situation. They're fairly cheap, good for family-oriented parks, and Larson is nearby. I could see a deal falling through somewhere and then FC picked one up. I would be even happier with an Air Race though.
aLFREd_25 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 An Air Race would be pretty cool. I have been meaning to make the hour and change drive over to OKC to visit the park. Hopefully this summer I'll check it out.
valleyfairfanatic Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Do you think there is a possibility of a lake erie eagles kinda flat ride? That wording of the announcement could be a pun or it could be not even related to the ride
cal1br3tto Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Park hints "more info flying in soon" A new bird exhibit!
larrygator Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Do you think there is a possibility of a lake erie eagles kinda flat ride? rcjp Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Pregnant woman walk through anyone? That has to be one of the best ideas ever! I can't believe such thing actually exists!
coasterkid124 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 ^ There is one in Mexico. TPR made a video that's on Youtube. I would get the link but I'm too lazy. Just type in pregnant lady walk through and it should appear.
rcjp Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 ^I know, I know. I had already seen the video but was still amazed that they built it.
John Peck Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 "Birds Alive" (get it, like Dinosaurs Alive... snicker!) But seriously, they said they had to move a road. Maybe it is something larger.
WFChris Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 The clue clearly hints that they are building an Aquatrax. Duhh.
Shavethewhales Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 By 'road', they meant in-park pathway. I can't tell for sure, but it might have taken the location of the old Rotor that has been SBNO for years, or more likely some of the area formerly occupied by the Chance shot and drop tower. Edit: Scratch that, from looking at the satellite footage of the park it seems the photo was taken next to the go-kart track... Not sure why they are moving the path there since there's not much space in the area to put anything unless they are getting rid of the go-karts.
GayCoasterGuy Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Flying Turns Now that they know the design works well... would be perfect for Lagoon, a perfect family ride.
Tanks4me05 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Y'allz got it all wrong. Volare. -Tanks "I've been on two, and I actually like them both" 4me05.
Shavethewhales Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Trying to piece together tidbits from the GP who have seen it in person. So far they are saying that it's not a tower ride, but it looks fun, yet not terribly thrilling. My suspicion that it's a set of flyers is growing. Hopefully the park updates us tomorrow.
DoinItForTheFame Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Having been to Frontier City hundreds of times... I am not expecting anything "large" from this. I am expecting something like a Flying Scooters.
linearinduction Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Flying Turns Now that they know the design works well... would be perfect for Lagoon, a perfect family ride. Lagoon has an actual Roller Coaster Designer On Staff who has Successfully Designed 3 Steel Coasters for the Park, so I doubt Lagoon would go for something that is unproven.
