One of the other rides will be an Air Race, and the other will be a kiddie ride if the rumours are to be believed.

Have never ridden a Volare so can't pass judgement until i have, but they do look terrible. Am looking forward to the Air Race though.

Will look forward to visiting sometime in the next few months to try the Air Race out and to finally try out a Volare! Maybe not too looking forward to that but there we go, we'll see. I'm surprised I haven't ridden one yet to be honest.

Well sadly no Air Race, but a Zamperla Volare, Zamperla Junior Twister coaster and a Zamperla magic bikes confirmed. Interestingly none of these are going on the old corkscrew site, that site will be filled in 2014 or 2015.

^ I feel exactly the same. While I find the egg beater lift pretty cool (to look at that is...), the rest of the ride is awful. I had the pleasure of riding the one at Wiener Prater last August...and only for the credit. Easily the worst ride I've had on a coaster as of now, the first abrupt turn had some of the most violent headbanging I've ever encountered. The rest of the ride was basically Mike Tyson boxing my ears around every corner, and I came off with a headache and bright red ears. Ouch!

I don't really remember the Volare I have been on ride wise so It obviously wasn't that eventful. To be honest I still think it will be good for the park because it is only the second flying coaster in the country. Obviously if you are dumb enough to try and compare it to Air you deserve to be tortured by the ride but I think it will suit the park well.

I will also be interested to see what goes on the old Corkscrew site.

so, it looks like hero has had an uneventful opening now, only volare I've been on was at canadas wonderland - it destroyed my sunglasses!

there's a reason its 2nd worst on the mitch hawker poll

This will be a commercial success for them. It's alright enthusiasts slating it, but a lot of people that go to Flamingo Land won't have been on a flying rollercoaster before.

So, i had a 3 day weekend away the other day, some of these photos are mine, and some are other peoples, but up to date. when i go to theme parks i only take photos when i have done everything i want to, or in a long line, however throughput at flamingo land is actully pretty good, the lines go down pretty fast!

First up, this fun el loco, line was around 25 mins, 2 train service, wish it had 3 running, but it was ok as the day wasnt packed.

This has got to be the best themed kids area, the ship is real wood, not cheep low quality theming, and theres loads of water places, this is VERY popular in the summer! Great Fun!

[Not my photo] Well, my best ride at the park, this fabbri top swing, the airtime is the best in this, you need to ride it ASAP.

And then these, people say there painful? Nah, just dont have your bar to tight, these never have a line, and i rode them 15 times in a row, decant duration, around 2 mins, went fully over about 10 times, and done plenty high swings, and even a 3 sec. hang time at the top ;)

The old rock-n-tug ride is moved now, close to hero, were the dodgems used to be, or if you want, the old evolution!

kumali time, also has the best roller coaster entrance ive seen! Why is this park so under-rated?

1631174648_images(5).jpeg.119223ddb1d6826665e8c97df33586be.jpeg

after kumali, we walked over to this, it was a hot day after all

And this entrance is the best ive seen overall, so beautifully themed, and looks amazing, great theming, id be happy with this in disney or universal parks!

This starflyer is the best themed, by far, its part of dino stone park, called pterodactyl, and it makes you feel even more safe than a funtime starflyer as the restraint locks!

cliffhanger-drop-shoot.jpg.4225d2f243e309a771fd4dc397268e03.jpg

well it hit 5:45, rides were closing.. i asked the woman running cliff hanger about the hold at the top "combo element", she said the piece has been sent to america to the s&s work shop to be fixed, and they will be adding it all back to it by next season, she was 1 of the high up staff as she had the diffrent jumper and shirt, and she was very kind, last ride on cliff hanger, she shot us up 3 times!

I can only assume that you banged your noggin' a few too many times on Kumali's restraints!

My step-father-in-law-ish lives right next to the park and I object to the assertion that throughputs are good! I've sat and timed Mumbo Jumbo get an amazing 240pph and Kumali on its 5-10 minute dispatches!

kumali is pretty smooth tbh, not quite b&m smooth, but far smoother than coasters like the smiler, saw, rita, speed and rage, its like b&m's with rattle in back row, still enjoyable though

I'm coming to that conclusion too. The bit where he describes Velocity as "the best in the country". Yeah.

Yeh I think "best in the country" is going a bit far, although it is a fun ride it is nowhere near as good as Stealth. "Best Launch Coaster in the County" is more like it

Bad news for all Flamingoland Fans! The Rock Slide is no more!

Always a Flamingoland favourite

Now lies in tatters!

However it has made way for a really nice new themed area behind Cliffhanger.

I keep hearing wood coaster whispers for flamingo land i know years ago they thought about it. Not sure if its an old rumour doing the rounds again.

Any idea on manufacturer? Is this for 2015? Was thinking it was just old rumors been recycled .Hope it turns out to be true a big fun would fit corkscrew site and proberbly not need planing as it would be slightly smaller than the ride removed!

I visited in october and the quality of their coasters wasn't great. Also the throughput was terrible, Kumali could have been close to doing ten minute dispatches.

Agreed about the load times especially mumbo jumbo. But love Kumarli , Velocity and Mumbo Jumbo. The spining kiddie coaster is insane.

For a family park not a bad line up they dont have the budgets of the merlin parks. Yes they may not be as WOW as some coasters but a pretty Solid line up. Just need that woodie.

It's going to be very similar or a clone of Roar-o-saurus at Story land New Hampshire. It will be manufactured by Gravity Group.

They have a good lineup of rides for a park on a small budget yes, but they have no excuse for those dispatch times. Hero is the worst coaster i've been on and velocity was not much better. Honestly, velocity has a good launch but is very, very rough.

I think a small woodie would be perfect for Flamingo Land and hopefully get the UK back into adding wooden coasters!
