jray21
It would be fun to ride a coaster in the snow, but it must be so incredibly cold!
Guy T. Koepp
Beech Bend used to have a Christmas festival where they would run Kentucky Rumbler in the snow. I remember getting off that thing with icicles running from my eyes and nose, and snow in my hair. It was awesome! Riding coasters in harsh conditions have made for some of my most memorable rides. To this day, my favorite ride on X at Magic Mountain was in stinging rain. I got off the ride with my face beet red, and my hands numb. It was amazeballs! cfc
^I rode the Big Bad Wolf while it was snowing once; thanks to being hit in the forehead by a steady stream of freezing water, I ended up with brain freeze. The pain of a thousand Dole Whips.
DJeXeL
I love how BGW operated BBW while it was snowing but SFMM won't run ninja if it's less than 60 degrees.....

robbalvey
Been having fun doing this higher quality 4K videos. If you have a 4K HDTV and you stream YouTube directly to it, these look INCREDIBLE! Check it out...
Nrthwnd
^ I just love these things! My first one was at Astroworld (1992); then this one at NS (2007); and then the Dive Ultratwister at Rusutsu Park (2013). They should build a few more of these in the world, yes? No? Guy T. Koepp
Can't wait to watch this in 4K. I get my new monitor when I get back from San Antonio on the 15th. Looking forward to riding Switchback on the 10th as well.

strz
That ride is shockingly fun--Togo actually scored there. Good to hear as I had the "pleasure" of having (2) TOGO's at my home park of SFGA back in the day! Oh my!!!! That said- the footprint/station is now home to one of the best woodies in the country! Ultra Twister: http://www.greatadventurehistory.com/UltraTwister.htm Viper: http://www.greatadventurehistory.com/Viper.htm That said- I give credit to SFGA for being a major risk taker on ride concepts back in the day....... SixFlagsAstroworld
Wish America had one of these... Actually, there USED to be one here, Ultra Twister from Six Flags Astroworld. I think it's in storage at Six Flags America.

Well, I don't see how that is possible. TOGO went bankrupt and closed in 2002.

SixFlagsAstroworld
^ So, let another company make them, then. Actually, other companies did attempt the Pipeline Coaster design (Arrow Dynamics and Intamin), but they never caught on. Besides, their pipeline coasters were not as awesome as TOGO's version
cfc
^Agreed--the Togo Ultra Twisters were great rides (certainly much better than I'd expected them to be).

rcjp
Seeing it run with the trim off on that POV reminded me of my first ride on it when it was also off providing great air in the last hills (made even better by the restraints)
Henry M
We need more old style wooden coasters to be built. They have more character.
viking86
I must say I love the mounted backseat POV's you have been putting up. First Dominator earlier this year, and now Lightning Run. You rarely see good high-quality backseat POV's, and it gives an interesting view of how the train moves throughout the ride.

robbalvey
I'm bringing this thread back! Pass the beers, everyone! Loved Thunderhawk when i was at Dorney last, best 'classic' woodie I've been on. Yeah, sorry, I've been forgetting to post the new videos in this thread. I'll be honest, when I get like THOUSANDS of comments on YouTube & Facebook (while, yes most of them make your brain melt) it's sort of hard to remember to post them in this thread too when you get like 0 to maybe 5 responses per video. You gotta cater to your audience and unfortunately lately that's been growing more and more on social media.
