Norwegian coasterfan Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 This is my first trip report so be kind if i make any mistakes So this is probably a themepark you`ve never heard of. It`s located 20 minutes from Stavanger on the west coast of Norway, and it is themed to teddy bears. It`s more of a family park and not so much for thrill seekers, but fun nonetheless. Today it was not very crowded with the longest queue being maximum 20 minutes. But i have never experienced more than 30-40 minutes queue at the park. Now over to the photos. The entrance Entance plaza Here you can borrow a camera for FREE! Games The new attraction for this season, "Fossen" (The waterfall), it`s a log flume. All the theming was not finished when i visited. On this log flume you actually get SOAKED! And they have not installed all the water effects yet, so then you will get even wetter. It`s the only log flume in scandinavia that runs backwards. The station/gift shop building. Station Queue First lift hill. Here you can dry yourself. Gift shop. This is the only attraction of it`s kind in the world! Now over to probably the best themed Reverchon spinner in the world. The park is quite hilly, and the spinner is on top of a hill so you get a really good view from the queue You can still see the color it had before it was relocated. The park also have an ABC tilt tower. Palm trees in norway... And they have two of these jumping boat rides. They also have a 1000m long bob-sled This is also the only one of it`s kind in the world. Nothing to declare You spin the cups yourself, and the q on the cups is the logo for a milk brand in Norway called q-milk This is the building around the bumper cars. This is the parks second coaster, it`s Vekoma junior coaster. The station The entrance The queue Inside the station. This is the entrance to "Nordavinden" ( The north wind) It`s a graviton. The queue There is some really creepy music in here... To get to this attraction there is a hill, some stairs, more stairs and even more stairs. The park map. And i end this trip report with a picture of the gift shop in the enrance plaza. Hope you liked it. Oh, and they're building a new attraction for next year. It's quite a big area maybe it's a coaster?
Moose Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Wow what a great little park. The place looks decently themed and really well taken care of. Thanks for the report of this out of the way park!
SuperShawn Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 What a fun and quirky looking park! What kind of ride is the one of a kind that looks like you ride in a Firetruck?
_koppen Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Awesome photos! I have been wanting to check out this place for a while, but I'm not sure it's worth the insane drive it requires, yet. The log flume looks really cool.
Nrthwnd Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 Ooo! Ooo! ooo! I love it - it's awesome Can we go next year's tour Elissa? PlplplpleasepleasepleaseplplplpPRETTY PLEASE???
Norwegian coasterfan Posted July 18, 2013 Author Posted July 18, 2013 What a fun and quirky looking park! What kind of ride is the one of a kind that looks like you ride in a Firetruck? You go through some sort of "training" and then you are supposed to put out a fire. I'm not quite sure because it's a childrens ride
SharkTums Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 What a great looking park! Plus I see one of our favorite inside joke signs from the last Scandi Trip...OBS!!!! What a great word! Bill, if you look at a map you'll see this park is impossible to hit on the Scandi trip, it does however give me more incentive for one of those Norwegian Coastal Cruises as they port nearby for a day!
Moose Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 A bearwash? I think a lot of people on this site would love that attraction What are you trying to tell us Jake? Do you like washing bears?

Yes you can take the ferry from Denmark to Stavanger And they just got brand new really nice ships
SharkTums Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 ^I realize the park is possible to get to, I'm just saying it's not possible on our trip with the closest park we'll be at over four - five hours away!

Oh Elissa, I already knew this was going to be a weeeee bit of a distance to get to, lol. But thank you for emphasizing the reality of visiting it. (Not during the Scandi Tour) And a Norwegian Coastal Cruise sounds pretty awesome to me!
_koppen Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 And a Norwegian Coastal Cruise sounds pretty awesome to me! Believe me, they are! Unless it's raining..
RoCo Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Again, thanks so much for sharing this cool, funky park! They really go for it with the theming; that has to be the best themed Gravitron ever. I can't wait to see what they do with the flume ride.
cfc Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 Looks like a great family park--I love how they've themed their attractions (especially the Gravitron queue).
Nrthwnd Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 What is the food like, there? Do they have one-of-a-kind snacks or meals, like the rides there? And that is quite the queue for a Gravitron ride!
Norwegian coasterfan Posted July 20, 2013 Author Posted July 20, 2013 What is the food like, there? Do they have one-of-a-kind snacks or meals, like the rides there? And that is quite the queue for a Gravitron ride! They have quite a few food options actually, a medieval chicken restaurant, a BBQ buffet a burger restaurant, pizza, pasta and so on
cfc Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 "Medieval chicken restaurant"? Do you toss the bones to dogs under your table after you eat the fowl's flesh?
Norwegian coasterfan Posted July 24, 2013 Author Posted July 24, 2013 Kongeparken have released a series of films on facebook with some guests testing all the attractions. It`s in Norwegian but there is some nice footage from the rides. Episode 1: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Kongeparken?fref=ts
StealthFan Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Some great photos there. The park looks awesome. Its nice to see a small park take such care with their theming, some bigger parks should take note! -Craig
gisco Posted August 9, 2013 Posted August 9, 2013 What a nice looking park. We could have a lot of fun there. To bad it is out of the way for next years trip.
