JuanSe_Colombia
Krater seems pretty much done, although the park has yet to announce an openning date. October 23: October 29:

XII
I'm impressed with how quickly they got this ride up. It definitely looks like an Iron Shark clone, and considering how I really enjoyed Iron Shark, I'm glad to see a clone of it popping up in a part of the world that doesn't have a lot of roller coasters. coasterbill
This looks like a really cool park and the new ride looks to be fantastic. Thanks for sharing your photos. I had never heard of this park so I decided to research it a little bit and they have some really interesting things here. I think it's awesome that a park that opened in 1995 has a classic Schwarzkopf thanks to Worlds of Fun and a Von Roll Skyride that was sort of pieced together from the Bronx Zoo and Knoxille World's Fair. JuanSe_Colombia
Krater has been testing, but the park hasn't announced the exact opening date yet, although they have confirm that it will open in december. They release a "trailer" on their facebook page:

JuanSe_Colombia
Hey! Finally I went to the park and rode Krater!. I was actually invited by the park to go and try Krater on the opening day, but sadly I got sick and couldn't make it. So I waited after the holiday because I heard the park has been packed most of december and january, with long hours waits, they were even opening at 7:00AM due to the crowds, and warning people on facebook not to get too late to the park, or they might find the doors closed due to the park reahcing full capacity. So I went last thursday since most schools and some universities are already back from the holidays break, and the park wasn't crowed at all, most rides were a walk.on or very little wait time. Krater was my first Euro-fighter, and I was thrilled, the ride it's short but it packs a punch. So if's anyone it's interested in visiting the park and need help or something, feel free to contact me, I will be more than happy to help. Here are some photos: It was raining when I got to the park, so I waited a few minutes and the rain stopped. Most of the day was chilly, so I didn't get in any of the water rides So sexy Operators at the station were encouraging riders to raise their hands. Some riders chose to hold on to the back of the headrest rather than the lap bar which I found kind of funny. You exited the ride walking right beneath the the first drop and the lift hill Lift hill porn. By the beginning of the day the ride was a walk-on so I rode several times in a row. They were running one train, I notiec Krater has 3 trains. I'm guessing later in the day they ran a second train. Cool sign right?. Definitly the coolest in the park. There it is!! You're definitly will get wet on this one. Went to do a quik checkout of this area of the park. Mostly kids and family rides. Here's the park map. Krater should be next to river rapids, it doesn't appear here, but it does on the maps they hand you with your tickets at the entrance. Of course I didn't forget about Broca. Since it was a bit of a cold day, Broca was running a little slower. That "rocky" path next to this sexy curve is the tunnel at the end of the coaster. It's VERY loud. Here I Am Train station. Have I mention this it's the slowest train ever? Some kids rides. This area of the park was empty. Barco del Café which mens "Ship Of Coffee" View from the upper part of the park. Bye! IronWolfman
Krater looks great and like a fun ride! The park seems to have both Krater and Broca landscaped very well.
viking86
I guess I'll post this here since this seems to function as the "park thread".... There was a horrific accident on Krater, the parks Gerstlauer Eurofighter, where a disabled rider was thrown from the ride during the first drop and is in critical condition. It says the rider was disabled, but it does not state in what form. The accident was caught on video from distance. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/disabled-man-seriously-injured-horror-10226274 A disabled man is fighting for his life after falling 32ft from a roller coaster. Laureano de Jesus Ospina suffered severe injuries after he plummeted from the National Coffee Park's Krater roller coaster as it neared the bottom of one of its near-vertical drops. The horrifying moment he slammed into the ground was caught in shocking mobile phone footage by a visitor to the theme park in Colombia. He was rushed to the nearby La Sagrada Familia hospital where he is in a "critical" condition.

It happened during the weekend, the guy who felt doesn't have both legs, so he shouldn't have been allowed to ride. He is still in the hospital. His wife was on national news in Colombia, she said she ask the operators if it was safe for him to ride in his condition. She also caught the accident in video, as did other visitor. JuanSe_Colombia
New Family Coaster coming to the park! I just stumbled across their post in Facebook and announcing the new rollercoaster "Yippe", inspired by the old jeeps that are sometimes still use to transport the bulks of coffee from town to town and growths. the coaster will be opening on march 23rd. JuanSe_Colombia
Hey! So now that I'm back in Colombia, I finally got to go to the park and meet face to face with Yippe. Yippe is great for family fun, and it really takes advantage of the terrain (it reminded me of Dollywood's FireChaser). It launches out of the station (a first in Colombias by the way) and then does a little turn before climbing up the lift hill. It has a good pace and heard a lot of parents and kids talking about "how fast" it is for a family coaster, which is good. It surprise me that it have about four interactive fountains - one right out of the station, second one just a regular fountain that shoots as you pass by, the third one is really cool since is kind of a "water tunnel" just little fountains that create an arch around the track and the train and the last one is a splash down little the one in Shambbala. Overall, the park its pretty well keep, beautiful as always, nice staff and rides looking shinny. I'm glad to see that the management does a great job with it and they keep putting more rides. Hope you enjoy this mini photo trip report. So this is the view from the upper part of the park This is the Coffee museum and of course the Colombian flagship Coffee store Juan Valdez This is the map of the park in case you're wondering how is the layout of the park. (Ignore my breakfast) There is a new skylift right by the entrance to get people to the lower part of the park. This new one seems faster than the other 2. So we are down at the main plaza, and they have this jeeps on display, basically YIPPE is theme to who these jeeps were used to transport coffee from the countryside to the cities. So finally I got a glimpse of Yippe and Is right there next to amazing Krater. Number Boats got a little expansion and the lagoon looks bluer and have more boats now. So this is the view you get for Yippe. Selfie next to Yippe Yippe propelling out of the station. The fountain starts splashing just as they conquer the hill Krater looking shinny and awesome as always One last look at Yippe and you can see the interactive splash down at the end Broca aka Montaña Rusa aka Zambezi Zinger looking good too. Photographers around the park are place to get these cool shots of you and your family. Of course you have to paid for them.
