intimidator305rocks Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) Everyone on this site is talking about aquatrax. I don't know what it is. Can someone please explain it to me? Edited October 15, 2012 by jedimaster1227
simaticable Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) This might help. TPR wise, it's a joke that enthusiasts like to throw around when there are rumors for new rides. Edited October 6, 2012 by simaticable
UrbanLegend Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Also noteworthy because there's actually only one AquaTrax in the world, but you wouldn't know it from the various rumors floating around TPR... Actually, is there any traceable origin of the AquaTrax joke?
Tanks4me05 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 ^^I'm not positive about this, but if I remember correctly, the origin was during Maverick's construction, as it was rumored to be an Aquatrax, and the joke just stuck after that.
ambe_bambe Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 ^Shut up Goggles!!! oh how I miss saying that everyday. Ooh, maybe the new ride at SW Australia is gonna be an AquaTrax O_o
MrSum1_55 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 For the obvious explanation, it is pretty much a sarcastic joke. With only one having been built nearly 10 years ago, everyone knows that none of the currently rumored new rides will be an Aquatrax, hence the joke.
TPDave Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Aquatrax are the greatest rides in the world, several are opening next year though I can't say at which parks because that is top secret info. Dave
monkeyoverlord71 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 SW7 at Alton Towers is actually going to be an Aquatrax... FACT.
biker7766 Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 I'm not quite sure what an Auqatrax is, but I have heard of a Aquatrax... When people in the community use this saying, they mean it as a joke.
A.J. Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Basically, an Aqua Trax is a water coaster without a splashdown, produced by Intamin. It uses unique cars that sit eight people in four rows motorcycle-style (with their feet under the seat). The only installation, Atlantis Adventure in South Korea, is very elaborately themed and uses water sprinklers in a trough that the track is mounted to. It also has a neat interactive effect where, if your arms are long enough, you can touch the water while going around a very low banked curve.
Loefet Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 Heide Park in Germany were going to get an Aqua-Trax, but they ended up with an Accelerator instead...
The Angry Darren Mullins Posted October 7, 2012 Posted October 7, 2012 Actually, rumor at among some of the higher ups at Lotte World was that Maverick would be an aqua trax. I think someone on TPR said it may have started out as an aqua trax in the design phase. It is plausible Maverick was originally going to be an aqua trax as Cedar Point had removed a water ride and later did build a new flume.
Meteornotes Posted October 17, 2012 Posted October 17, 2012 ^I've heard that rumor as well, and it actually makes sense. Would love to see another one of these built. It's a really interesting ride. dt
