RaptorBoyASU Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 (edited) I thought this was pretty cool. Google's Pittsburgh office has expanded into more of the building they occupy, and the new space is themed to Kennywood. There's some great pictures in this article. http://www.pittsburghmagazine.com/Pittsburgh-Magazine/March-2012/Google-Pittsburghs-New-Kennywood-Inspired-Office-Space-Will-Blow-Your-Mind Edited May 16, 2012 by cfc
Hilltopper39 Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 That's really cool, I'd love to work there (who wouldn't).
piers Posted May 16, 2012 Posted May 16, 2012 That's really cool, I'd love to work there (who wouldn't). Piers Kent.

IrishBuckeye Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Google is the best tech-related company ever, hands down! For many reasons. Drrrrrrooooiiiiiddddd.
RaptorBoyASU Posted May 17, 2012 Author Posted May 17, 2012 Google seems like the best company ever to work for, but after I visited their offices, I kind of thought "not for me". It was weird to walk into an office where no one was talking, your work area was less than arm's length from your neighbors, and every "perk" was designed to keep you there longer. I mean if I had been offered a job there, I probably would have taken it and stayed a few years as a career booster, but it was far from the "dream job" I built it up to be in my head. BTW, I thought I had left the scene in the conference room picture behind in college. Nerds with bad grooming standards playing Magic: The Gathering. Doesn't really embody the image of "the cool place to work" they try to promote.
cal1br3tto Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 Now that makes me want to get up and go ride Thunderbolt right now. Great attention to detail!
andybarnes84 Posted May 17, 2012 Posted May 17, 2012 I'd rather work for Bing in their Conneaut Lake Park themed offices Seriously, who uses Bing?
gisco Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Seriously, who uses Bing? Never intentionally! Kind of cool looking office Google did but the novelty would ware off in about a day.
BeemerBoy Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Nerds with bad grooming standards playing Magic: The Gathering. Doesn't really embody the image of "the cool place to work" they try to promote. This.
Ed Farmer Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Seriously, who uses Bing? Windows Phone does it's damnedest to integrate Bing into everything, so I do. I love WP7, so I'm willing to work with that. It doesn't forbid you from using Google either, so rock.
TPDave Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 ^ Lets not bring this into a Goole/Microsoft argument. This looks pretty cool, but I can't help thinking I'd rather work in a boring office and have them pay me more rather than spend lads of cash making the place pretty.
ambe_bambe Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 That is epic! if only my office looked like that...
ginzo Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 Doesn't really embody the image of "the cool place to work" they try to promote. I think it does come across as desirable to the type of employee they are trying to attract. I don't think such a tech-intensive firm is looking for cheap beer-swilling "brogrammer" types. Doesn't Google have famous guest speakers and a high end corporate chef at their main campus? That sounds way better than any of the dumps I've worked at.
