jarmor Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 While bored at work today I start taking pictures of my cube! So I thought, hey lets have a office space thread. I dont know if this has been done yet but oh well here it is again! So start posting pictures of your office space and to make it even more fun lets guess where each other work! I'll be posting mines later, right now im going to sleep!
Angry_Gumball Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 No camera handy today but my workspace consists of 8 computers, 1 monitor, a switch (for switching computers) and a DVD rack...Well, it's my new job. Basically, I rip DVD's and get thumbnails from it and print it for the DVD cases, pack 'em up and send them off to the next work station. Edit: I'm too lazy to bring my camera into work as my co-workers would think I"m nuts taking pics of our work station, so I whipped up a MS Paint version of my work space.
CoasterJunkie Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 My messy desk. How it gets this bad I will never know. I am the only girl in a room full of men and I am not the messiest either..LOL...
KevinT Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Here's me in my cubicle. I'll set the building on fire.
RBOrrell Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I am an IT consultant working with IBM mid-range series hardware (AS/400 or iSeries as they are now called). This is the computer room that one of my clients has - I spend about 50% of my time a week there. The black units are the newer of AS/400 systems in the pictures. Their old beige coloured systems are in the background. My client is very particular about the lok of the computer room. He put down red packing tape on the floor to plan out where each unit would sit. Once it was done, it looked like Stonehenge. AS/400 model 500 (left) and AS/400 model 300. AS/400 model 700 with SPD sidecar (left) and the 3570 tape library on the right.
jarmor Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 Ok here are some shots of my space. I sit right by oen of the entrance doors and people are always stoping and asking me do I like roller coasters, and quite naturally I tell them no! My space keeps me sane when disgruntal people are bitching about nothing but then say their blood pressure is high...im like quit yelling and im sure it will drop a notch or 2. Well here ya go!! Of course you have to have to green life in your office space so here is my flower and my custom design flower pot! you can even see the coaster comming around from the left! The "core" corner is where the focal point is in my cube. It has another of my coaster models and some pictures of me and my cute little cousin! The top view of that same wall but you can see the top of the coaster calendar as well as one of my coaster models! my coaster calendar and my invitation! when it gets really boring I just grab one of my coaster mags and read. Also you can kinda get a glance of the homepage of the website im working on! I consider this the boring corner right now since I havent put anything in it since the move a month ago... One of the walls. If you havent noticed I kinda like myself and have basically only pictures of myself up...with the occasional roller coaster picture! This is one corner of my cub. I wanted to cover up the console and since I just moved AGAIN like a month ago instead of the photocopied images from the net I decided to go the collage way w/ my own pictures! See if you can figure out where I work!! This is like my 'FYI" board showing off the park and things. This is the first thing people see when they walk in the "floor" area. What a pleasant site!
CoasterJunkie Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 AWESOME CUBE!!!! I am going to say you work at Wachovia Bank...LOL..
Space Freak Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Yeah, I say Wachovia bank also... Or at least one of the financial institutions associated with Wachovia. Here are a couple of pics of my current workplace (until october). Robbo! This isnt where I work perse (no pics of my vacuum facility), but there is a HUGE hint as to where I work here... In more particular, I work with these! Any guesses as to what they are? And these! And these! I am working on these!
Erik Johnson Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 Here is my work space. I put on an average of 700-1000 miles a week in my work van for the wine/liquor company I work for.
SharkTums Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 ...in a van...down by the river... sorry but your van has creepy kidnapper written all over it!!!

I actually got to "pet" the shaggy van from Dumb and Dumber while it was in that fancy mall in Westerville Ohio. I think there was a Planet Hollywood there.
Erik Johnson Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 ...in a van...down by the river... sorry but your van has creepy kidnapper written all over it!!! Actually my "friends?" call it "The Molestermobile" . I hate that name! Come on, its not as scary as an ice cream truck.
Kroger8 Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 IDK Erik dude that is pretty scary^ lol hahahaha, why doesn't it have the name of the company or SOMETHING on it?
Erik Johnson Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 IDK Erik dude that is pretty scary^ lol hahahaha, why doesn't it have the name of the company or SOMETHING on it? Heh heh heh, because if it had the company name on it, everyone would try to break into it to get some "free" liquor and wine.
Kroger8 Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Oh then thats smart, instead of luring them in with a Liquor/wine sign, scare them away by making them think its a Kidnapper's van!

Real Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Jarmor - I have that calendar as well. Its very, very nice. I left it on Thunderhead and Shivering Timbers long after the months were over. Just to gaze at their beauty
DRWP2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 I don't really have a desk, so this is a picture of a part of my new office that got a lot bigger this year!
BiCoastal Kid Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Here are a couple of pics of my current workplace (until october). Robbo! There's no way you're working on ionic propulsion...
Flyingcoasterfreak Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 my office. this is not the current setup of the racks but it's close enough. I'm not allowed to pusblished the current racks setup. or the rest of the servers.
Space Freak Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Here are a couple of pics of my current workplace (until october). Robbo! There's no way you're working on ionic propulsion... Yeah, I am. I am working on puting together a Data Acquisition and control system for Hollow Cathode Swaged Heaters, which are used to 'ignite' the hollow cathode which is basically an electron emitter that ionizes the fuel into a plasma. So, I am pretty much working on both Optical Ion Thrusters, Hall effect Ion Thrusters, and Plasma Contactors (because those are the applications of Hollow Cathodes). Its part of my senior design project for school. We have a partnership with NASA Glenn Research Center in Ohio, and every year the school sends some students there to do research. If you want to hear more about it, send me a PM... Cheers! Rob "Really working for NASA" Doughty
