Hhappy
Ok, i guess it's time for the final part of my Japan trip and it's updates. Tokyo Disney. I'm going to try something new (for me).. do my updates based on attractions/area's/shows in the park. I managed to do 3 visits to the park while being in Japan. A few hours at the start, 3 days in the middle and 2 days at the end (before flying home) I guess you can imagine the amount of pictures i have from these visits.. Anyway let's get this started. First up my favorite park at this time: DisneySea Here's a few pictures that will be all about Journey, 20.000 leagues and the Mysterious Island area where these are located. I do hope you enjoy them and comment on these. let's start with Journey get here quick or you might be looking at long lines let's have a look at the queue area paintings along the wall machine plan pleny of things to look at getting ready for the elevators our gateway to... and there's plenty of them quick peak inside hmm, light effects ok, here's something different.. fog i guess this is a better image hmm, this looks interesting... queue area, in the top left you can see the fog gate i posted earlier getting closer to boarding the ride the awesome vehicles ok, total fail and yet this gives you an idea of all the colors you get to see (check robb's onride for more details) ehm.. what's that?? Lava monster this has got to be one of the most amazing animatronics i've seen to date bye bye and then you get blasted away at high speed.. through the fog.. if you are quick you can look at the park while enjoying some airtime even the exit staircase area is themed true ok, here's a look at the Mysterious Island area drilling machine in the hill from across the water, and yes.. the volcano does work drilling machine from a lower point playing with shutter time.. looking back from the waterfall back inside to give you a Journey vehicle enjoying the airtime getting close to blowing i'm pretty sure i'll spot new details once i get back another look at the drilling machine a bit of sunshine can make a huge difference.. and yes. there is a awesome restaurant under those arches you can walk all the way around if you want to Journey vehicle on the bridge and then.. from the other side.. you can hardly see it anymore back inside, for just one more dril machine image and one more Journey vehicle in the same area you can also find this ride more awesome queue area theming big balls lovely suits there's a map, would it help? the theming just does not stop another map owh wait.. we're diving?? if you are lucky this could be the queue for you (empty) ride vehicle here's the same vehicle hanging around outside and then it's warp speed time what's that?? aaarrgghhh
QueerRudie
Incredible... The more pics I see of TDS, the more I'd like to go back and spend more than two hours there! And the Lava Monster bears MORE than a passing resemblence to either Godzilla or Moth-Ra's foe in "Godzilla Vs. Moth-Ra" Looking forward to further updates, Hanno- such a beautiful spread of photos! I could look at photos of Disney Sea all day (and I probably have... and more... if you added up all the time I've spent looking at photos of this amazing park since it opened nearly 10 years ago). I want to go there so bad I can almost taste it. And it probably tastes like.... sea salt ice cream!

Hhappy
Are you ready for more DisneySea pictures??? In this update i have some Sindbad, Tower and as a bonus volcano pictures. Sindbad was just awesome. Like a good version of small world. Still a song that gets stuck in your head but a way better ride. Tower.. owh my.. loved the story, loved the theming.. should have spent more time in the area for pictures of all the details there.. pre show was good as well.. just wished the drops would be a bit more forceful.. Volcano.. it's got fire and fire = good But don't worry.. there will be more updates still to come in future updates are the "kids" area, raging spirit, hotel, random park pictures, night pictures and the big show.. ok, first up Sindbad entrance area who turned of the lights? i guess this is the short version of the story angry monkeys?? getting ready to be boarded just cruising bird and egg go catch them how's it going?? (i failed with the big bird.. better luck next time) the key to.. ehm.. music maestro i see a tail town meeting, playing music playing the big drum banana monkey drum and bass moving on ladies 3 wise guys?? that's a different story (i think) sing along somewhere along the ride there are some elephants surfs up bye bye next up.. Tower (as seen from a distance) that is pretty big.. i think getting closer it just does not stop (all the little details) another look from the plaza in front tower of terror yeah and this time with the green stuff part of the queue area inside pre show it's green and ehmmm poof... gone more theming from above i believe this was outside the exit/shop back inside, more queue theming everywhere you want to look it's ok to smile ehm... ok, volcano time.. i think i see a box they might use to put "annoying/misbehaving" folks in.. i think it's getting ready.. here we go bring it on that's a pretty big/tall one.. fire = good bigger fire is even better get out while you can (Journey)
Nrthwnd
It was so cool when the volcanoe "went off", day or night. Great TR, Hanno.
RoCo
All of Disney's Towers of Terror are among the most gorgeous rides ever built, but DisneySea's makes the others look like puddles of puke. So spectacular. Eagerly awaiting more.

Hhappy
Another update: part 3 of DisneySea Raging Spirits, the under water/kids area and some hotel pictures. Before riding Raging Spirits i was thinking about that one ride in Paris.. so i braced myself.. This one was way smoother and actually fun. The kids under water section was a nice area to go to and relax for a little while (and also hide for the heat) Hotel MiraCosta.. Amazing place and i'm glad i stayed there for a few nights. Worth the money for me to be able to recover and relax a little after the trip. Enjoy hmm, me angry me hungry just passing by that's a lot of metal wave for the camera there's a lot of things to see in this image and plenty of green yeah, it does have a loop just look at the amount of theming some random riders scream if you like it another point where you can get pretty close to the ride more theming brake run it even has fog through the fog what can you say?? water fun the name of this ride awesome looping sign ok, next stop this lovely area. This is impressive soo many details to look at Royal Proclamation first look in the area i loved the under water vibe it gave painting on the wall.. teacup ride waiting for some riders just another overview looking at the teacups again the theater with a pretty darn good show (no pictures allowed inside) jellyfish themed ride this picture is interesting (to me) while being there i never noticed the stuff on the back wall... it was when i looked back at this image that i spotted the plants in the blue balloon race bubbels themed shop ok, time for some Hotel Mira Costa images. Here's the globe you see when going to the DisneySea park first look at the hotel (you have to walk underneath the hotel to get in the park) getting closer (you can see the tunnel) amazing and all around theming on the other side there are rooms behind those windows so yeah, this was the view from my room for the 2 nights i stayed there after the trips this thing is massive and yes.. it was wet after the practice run of the summer show ok, let's check out the inside of the hotel.. first up lobby looking across looking up one of the elevator areas another look up pretty surfs up east wing? random hallway hotel entrance area (without the water) pretty hotel just a tease.. a night image one more lobby image and the night view from my room.. getting ready to watch the show
BeemerBoy
Hanno, it pretty much goes without saying (but I will anyway), awesome pics as usual! On a side note, I guess I've never looked up an actual statistical comparison between Disney Sea and Epcot. From all the pictures I've ever seen of this place, it always seems as though there's more walking involved at Disney Sea than Epcot. Is that just an optical illusion, or is that a fair assumption? SharkTums
^^I think that walking around DisneySea is a bit easier than Epcot. If you think of Epcot as a big Figure 8 with the top circle being World Showcase and the bottom being future world, DisneySea is similar, but I believe the top circle is smaller and has more cut throughs kind of like Future World at Epcot. Nrthwnd
What Elissa and Hanno said, above. And - I never have gotten bored walking around and around Disney Sea. Tired, yes. Eventually. But never bored. Too much awesome themeing. Small details not seen before. The American Waterfront alone, yields tons of stuff to see and enjoy. Epcot is laid out as the map shows - and except for several here-and-there surprises in a few of the Showcase pavillions ~ Yes to UK and it's gardens! ~ it has become somewhat cut-and-dried, to me, IMhO. Diseny Sea could take much longer to move around, than EPCOT does. But I'd never notice it, lol. (EDIT To ADD: Disney Sea has exactly the same kind of up-the-middle escape route, not easily marked on it's maps, like the one is Disney Paris is noted. But it helped me get from Raging Spirits up to the entrance, back to my hotel to change a camera battery - and back into the park all under an hour, with monorail travel! I was very impressed, how well the access path system worked there at TDS.)
Hhappy
Time for another DisneySea update. In this update i have some more random images/locations in the park and some evening images.. Just trying to show some of the other things in the park and give you an idea of how gorgeous the park is at night. Next update will be about the show they have at DisneySea Feel free to comment the castle near the waterfront, next time i have to check it out a bit more.. Looking back towards the hotel/entrance and yes.. that is a normal amount of people entering the park (i believe this was on a Saturday) Tower on the other side random theming there is a credit hiding in this image lots and lots of green (and a credit) sorry, no train hmm popcorn, i still remember the smell and taste this reminded me about Epcot.. yet it's more green here random character in the park yeah, random fire moment another look over the water towards the hotel. This water area was used for the evening show (more on that later) back to old england i totally forgot to walk down ther and check it out.. next time Titanic?? wth?? yeah, Duffy is big in Japan another volcano angle this area looks interesting during the day.. (but amazing during the night) random themed crossing between different sections where's donald?? every single time we passd this place.. there was a line. Guess it had some good food caroussel place and the entrance this looks pretty during the day.. but at night it was amazing another day, this time before the crowds entered the park pretty tower coastr track this just does not look like Japan.. does it? random tram passing by another volcano image i can't get enough of this place, can't wait to get back there just look at the laguna and the location fo the hotel area near Sindbad ok, time to check out the park during the evening.. and yes.. there is a journey vehicle going downhill pretty lights for the kids area i believe this was close to the Chip&Dale game still close volcano at night one of my personal favorite images awesome area tower at night darn the lightpole.. getting ready for the evening show stormrider building at night spinning another volcano angle aquatopia Venice look area and the globe at night, hope you enjoyed these images
QueerRudie
Once again, simply stunning all around- It does put a fire under me to visit the park in depth, as it's just that visually beautiful.
