SharkTums Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Pretty sure we've discussed these in the past! See last years thread here to be reminded of some of your favorites: http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=54126 So watch the big game today, but more importantly pay attention during those commercial breaks then come back in here to discuss! Here's the site we used last year to get you caught up on ones you missed, or for our international members: http://www.superbowl-commercials.org/cat/2011
larrygator Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 We were talking about this at work this week. What else would we talk about at an Ad Agency? Be prepared for a lot of Automotive and Movie ads.
Mr. Starr Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 YouTube is also playing the commercials right after they air, for anyone interested: www.youtube.com/adblitz
cfc Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Bud Light sucks and is not "the sure sign of a good time." That is all.
holyblakbelt Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I'm loving the Doritos commercials this year. They seem to get better and better with every Super Bowl.
imawesome1124 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I'm loving the Doritos commercials this year. They seem to get better and better with every Super Bowl. I agree, Doritos makes the best Superbowl commercials IMO. But there is still a whole other half of the game to go, let's see if they get funnier.
Shockwave Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 YouTube is also playing the commercials right after they air, for anyone interested: www.youtube.com/adblitz Because I'm waiting this on BBC, that's a pretty essential link!
cfc Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Well, I'm sure the halftime show was probably the best ever presented by a tire company.
ernierocker Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 The Pepsi Max commercial is the winner so far in my opinion!
Shockwave Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Well, I'm sure the halftime show was probably the best ever presented by a tire company. Wrong. None of them got ran over.
SharkTums Posted February 7, 2011 Author Posted February 7, 2011 I feel that Snickers is still doing a good job with their new campaign. Roseanne Barr getting hit was hilarious. Super 8 trailer really disappointed me, the first teaser trailer made it look like a scary awesome alien movie, this new one looked like ET 2.
cfc Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 ^Agreed. Who hasn't wanted to see Roseanne get clobbered by a log?
redmenace8 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 So far I've really liked these 3 commercials: Volkswagen- "The Force" Really cute, love how the kid reacts at the end. Carmax- The 50's service station. How far our standards have fallen--"I'm being carjacked!" "Is he stealing my engine?" We really wouldn't know what to do if we were treated so well. Hyundai- All that old technology. I love the guy carrying a record player with earphones and the silent movie "Kaboom!" The zeppelin in the background was a nice touch.
cal1br3tto Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 ...But there is still a whole other half of the game to go, let's see if they get funnier. They didn't.
ParkTrips Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I don't think a 2nd half has ever been better than the first, commercial-wise, at least I liked the NFL fans commercial the best.
davisal771 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I was excited for the Motorola Xoom's commercial, but it ended up sucking.
spaceace12 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Best Buy Ad......any ad with Ozzy rocks. Now if we can just rid the earth of the boy who shall not be named and anyone like him and get some more singers and bands like Ozzy, this world would be a better place.
doublestufforeo Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I definitely liked the Snickers ad watching Roseanne getting hit by a log, and the Best Buy add making fun of Justin Bieber. I enjoyed a few others as well, such as the dog that picks up its leg and hides it in his fluff to get the girl, and the karma beaver.
cfc Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I feel that Snickers is still doing a good job with their new campaign. Roseanne Barr getting hit was hilarious. In the local paper this morning, they ran their usual "reviews" of the Super Bowl ads, and while they liked the Snickers ad, they thought hitting Roseanne with a log was a bit "mean." I dunno--Roseanne didn't seem to have a problem with it.
Sir Clinksalot Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 There were WAY too many car commercials. Reminded me of the year there were so many .com commercials.
DiSab Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 I think the Chrysler Detroit/Eminem commercial was without a doubt the best car commercial of the evening, and easily on of the more epic ones in recent years. I also really liked the Bud Light Hack Job and Dog Sitter ones.
ParkTrips Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 There were WAY too many car commercials. disagree - it's encouraging to think that they think they can start selling cars again!!
ernierocker Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Just watched a few that I missed last night. Love the Doritos commercial where the grandfather is brough back to life!
Snowboard246 Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 There was a three way tie for me Best Buy- Ozzy and Bieber Chrysler- Eminem Doritos- Brings things back to life
