robbalvey Posted October 6, 2010 Author Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) LMAO! From the savethebigdipper.org site: We have been made aware that there is a scam website being operated by someone who for some reason has decided to take it upon himself to try to trash this campaign. Please be aware that SavetheBigDipper.com IS NOT associated with the official Save the Big Dipper project nor is it condoned nor supported by the owners of the Big Dipper. There is also a scam Facebook page. We currently do not have a presence on Facebook. Again, SavetheBigDipper.com is not associated with this site. Can someone please tell them this is a "parody" and not a "scam!" Not like they would probably understand the difference! Apparently they haven't looked at the site and seen the note at the very bottom! --Robb "Wait until they find out there's a Twitter, too!" Alvey Edited October 6, 2010 by robbalvey
Sir Clinksalot Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 ^ Eh, they will probably loosen up when they get their free Cialis. I see that the actual site has a whole $120 in donations. I think the "scam" site can get more than that just with the awesomeness that is animated cats and Jon Hamm.
BaMiTsPaT Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Haha this is really funny guys! It made my day!!! Keep it up
Skycoastin Steve Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 ^^^It hasn't dawned on them yet that they are being mocked.
jjune4991 Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 I just wanna say that I approve of this thread. And of savethebigdipper.com/ It has truly put a twinkle in my eye of some good internet trolling. Anyway, back to the epic thread...

Pirouettes907 Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 I don't know what's funnier, the Save the Big Dipper site(s) or this thread.
Sir Clinksalot Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) I think this section of the site needs to be renamed "Theme Parks, Roller Coasters & Savethebigdipper.com Edited October 6, 2010 by Sir Clinksalot
mightbeawannabe Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) ^^Though call, there. I would go with savethebigdipper.com. ^It will happen overnight. I'm putting money on it. Edited October 6, 2010 by mightbeawannabe
Ace Of Spades Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Oi, has this gone over the top. >< Honestly, this would've been funnier if it had gone up after the project totally died down. Now it's just confusing, and all the commotion in regards to their failure is going way past where it ever needed to go. Seriously, can't we just keep the mocking to a not-childish-esque level? Take my sig for example: subtle, and that can often be the best form of mockery anyway. And before you all say "Where's your sense of humor? Didn't read the TOS?!?!?!", I get the joke, I just don't find it all that funny.
astroworldfan1 Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Oi, has this gone over the top. >< Take my sig for example: subtle, and that can often be the best form of mockery anyway. If you would have never mentioned anything of your signature, I would have never looked at it. So, I guess it's too subtle. A company shouldn't, at all, be upset over parody sites..Their outrageous plans are why savethebigdipper.com exists today.

mightbeawannabe Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Company? These are just two normal people. No more nor less than Robb and Elissa. R&E might have a short rant about a parody site, too. Does a TPR parody site exist?
robbalvey Posted October 6, 2010 Author Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) A company shouldn't, at all, be upset over parody sites..Their outrageous plans are why savethebigdipper.com exists today. You know, when you think about it, I'll bet Theme Park Review has given their organization more exposure than I'm sure they are willing to give us credit for! Edited October 6, 2010 by robbalvey
astroworldfan1 Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 How could you possible parody TPR? Wouldn't you be parodying a parody?
robbalvey Posted October 6, 2010 Author Posted October 6, 2010 ^Crazier things have happened. Yes they have!!!
Capitalize Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 I mean how long do you need to piss in someone's cheerios to ruin their breakfast? Instead of writing such patronizing words, can't you just donate to Price Desmond's effort? Only if he follows up with even more awesome animated .gif's
astroworldfan1 Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 What the savethebigdipper.com really needs is a page dedicated to the history of the Big Dipper roller coaster, but not that of Geauga Lake's Big Dipper.
mightbeawannabe Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 Wait...is TPR actually a parody? Because it seems too well done to be a true parody. (Yes Robb, that's a compliment.)
let1gre Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 ^You can't spell "coaster" without "shenanigans". The "henanigans" is silent. Why couldn't they have impulse bought Big Bad Wolf instead?
mightbeawannabe Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 (edited) ^Simple. It might have been worth it. Edited October 6, 2010 by mightbeawannabe
Ace Of Spades Posted October 6, 2010 Posted October 6, 2010 @Robb, Thanks for respecting my opinion... I'm generally a pretty fun person, and I've learned to deal with people making fun of me or my thoughts, but really? Just mocking up FAIL pictures against people advocating an ounce of sanity? What did you call me again? Oh yeah, lame. Oi.
robbalvey Posted October 6, 2010 Author Posted October 6, 2010 ^ You're 16 years old. According to the Today show you should be out banging chicks. What are you doing here bitching about Price Desmond? FAIL!
