robbalvey Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 THIS PHOTO has surfaced recently on GCI's Facebook Page! Any idea what it could be? Be sure to leave a comment on their FB page and send them love from TPR Readers! --Robb
technfxrick Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) Anyone seen any footers going in at there local parks? GCI posted on there facebook that they are building something in the US www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=4799585&fbid=431778879094&id=23030364094#!/photo.php?pid=4799585&fbid=431778879094&id=23030364094 Anyone know where this may be going? SharkTums Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 ^How about Wild Adventures? Perhaps FINALLY a relocation of OzCat?
technfxrick Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 That would be nice, that ride looked pretty good when we drove by it, it was sad to watch it rusting away.
larrygator Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Wild Adventures is a good guess since I'll be there in 10 days. Why is it a good guess, because that means I would have to drag myself back to that park again. UGH!!!!!
Skycoastin Steve Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I just saw that a little bit ago. Very perplexing. I'd love to say it's in my back yard, but it's not, so that's one location down!
robbalvey Posted August 27, 2010 Author Posted August 27, 2010 I had heard there was going to be a new GCI project announced soon! Hopefully this will be it. With most of the parks still open for the season I have to assume someone will have to spot the guys onsite somewhere. TPR Members! Keep your eyes peeled for GCI Celebs at a park near you over the weekend! --Robb
technfxrick Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Could this be Silver Dollar City? didnt they say at one point they wanted to put a Terrain Wooden Coaster in.
robbalvey Posted August 27, 2010 Author Posted August 27, 2010 All I know is that GCI certainly likes to play guessing games with us. Remember THIS thread about their woodie in Germany and then THIS one about their woodie in China. Looking forward to more info on this project! --Robb
Band-Aid Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Hopefully the theory of the relocation of Wildcat to Wild Adventures will be true
alpengeist04 Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 My guess would be Silver Dollar City, with Dollywood getting the Sky Swing. ...Though I'm hoping Elissa is right about OzCat and Wild Adventures.
Chroniq Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) These are my favorite threads on TPR.... Here's where I am on the hunt to solve this... The logo on the gentleman's hardhat appears to be a Red Z.. A ten minute google search brought up nearly the exact same logo for "Diamond Z Engineer, of Cleveland Ohio" .. The only problem is the logo on his hat appears to be a square not a diamond.. All the other companies I pulled up in the states that other posters have mentioned don't seem to do this level of commercial work. Here's a link to their site http://diamondzengineering.com/contact.html . I called them and they said they weren't involved with any of this so its may be a poor guess. This picture a[pears to be from a temperate flyover state because they are pouring concrete in the middle of the summer and one of the workers is wearing a t-shirt with an eagle on it (not something commonly seen north of the maison dixon on the coasts).. If anyone sees anything that I'm missing, please post it here.. Edited August 27, 2010 by Chroniq
Erik Johnson Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 My guess is also Wild Adventures. Everything else has been moved there recently.
robbalvey Posted August 27, 2010 Author Posted August 27, 2010 I called them and they said they wern't involved with any of this so its a poor guess. I would have to think that if they were involved, they'd be under some kind of NDA agreement and they wouldn't talk to anyone about it unless it was one of the contacts already established on the project. --Robb
let1gre Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 I'd love to see Busch Gardens Williamsburg getting a terrain woodie, but it's probably not there (stemming from the Drop Tower rumors)
Chroniq Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 [quote name="robbalvey" I would have to think that if they were involved' date=' they'd be under some kind of NDA agreement and they wouldn't talk to anyone about it unless it was one of the contacts already established on the project. --Robb[/quote] I agree completely as we have worked under those auspices in the past.. I just wanted to put it out there so others wouldn't bother them.. So far that is the only company I've found that has a similiar logo (white Z on redbackground) and works with major commercial projects.. Do you or anyone else see something different in the hard hat logo? Chris "Destroying productivity one post at a time" Connolly
thrillrider Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Maybe holiday world? I know they are closed durring the week.
let1gre Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 On second thought, that soil doesn't really look like red clay (to me) so that would rule out pretty much the South.
coastermoosh Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Del Grosso's? It's been long-rumored that the park has wanted to add a wood coaster to it's ride roster.
SharkTums Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) Maybe holiday world? I know they are closed durring the week. I'm guessing Holiday World is busy trying to get the 'new' trains on Voyage and not putting in another coaster. Del Grosso's? It's been long-rumored that the park has wanted to add a wood coaster to it's ride roster. Don't they already have a coaster rotting away in their posession? Edited August 27, 2010 by SharkTums
C.Diesel Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 The truck looks like a four axle front discharge mixer... Very similar to what they use at ernstconcrete.com/? That would limit the choices to Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky and Georgia.
thrillerman1 Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 One of the GCI interns blogged that they'd be breaking ground for their shop building expansion this week, so my guess is that this photo is from that. While that's cool and all, I really hope it's for an actual mystery coaster.
SoCalCoasters Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Wishful thinking but could this be CGA's woodie? I heard some people saying that there were some construction vehicles on site a few weeks back...probably nothing though But Cedar Fair still has yet to reveal what their doing with the rest of their planned spending this year (I belive somewhere between 5-20 million) whick would be plenty for a CGI woodie... And they are building that new football stadium too...this could happen
Blind Idiot God Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Hasn't Canobie Lake been in talks with both GCI and TGG about a new woodie?
