Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

P. 512: Holiday World acquires Santa's Cottages resort

Actually, speculation started way back in late April, when I'm pretty sure somebody from HW leaked something to Screamscape about tree clearings being made by The Voyage and then threw out the term, "steel coaster". The reason I say someone from HW leaked it is because it was less than a week later that the free coaster enthusiast event was announced, saying "you don't want to miss this walk in the woods." That really got the speculation going. At the event, they announced the 66 days at seas campaign/website and here we are today, with probably the best planed out ride announcement in the history of the amusement industry. Okay that last statement may have been a bit biased

If it were not for this thread I would have not even registered lol. I am registered on another coaster site but they have become not nearly as friendly and take themselves far to seriously,... So I registered here for this coaster campaign. Glad I did now! Heck now I'm considering becoming a member!

^ Nope. No leaks in our Mayflower. Must have been someone in town - there are a few enthusiasts (who don't work here) who like to squeal to Lance.

Here's a hot-off-the-press article from this afternoon's Hard Hat Tour for reporters: http://www.courierpress.com/news/local-news/big-brother-is-watching-but-giving-up-no-details-of-holiday-world-secret_68029259[/quote

Wow I'm surprised Paula didn't have to sign a non disclosure agreement for The Voyage as well. This really must be something huge for the park! ZeroGravity - I agree this teaser campaign has to win some kind of awards or something somewhere. It's just incredible how well planned, thought out, and executed this has been... And NO LEAKS!! Ughh my stomach is churning with anticipation of the announcement.

^ Yeah the time zone in that part of Indiana is all kinds of messed up. You can be staying in a hotel 20-30 mins from the park and be in the eastern time zone, while HW is on the central time zone.

Hmm, this seems like the ideal park to visit now. You can technically sleep for an extra hour, then drive to the park (which will be an hour behind), and get in a few more rides.

Lance rumored that it was a Mack, similar to Blue Fire. Means nothing, I'm sure, but she did mention Lance.

I want to Thank and give congrats to Paula and all of the amazing HW team. They did really well planning this whole thing out and it worked very well. No one is sure what type of coaster this is going to be and that just shows how well the whole thing was put together!

^^^^The worst part about it was when I had to commute an hour to the park (and an hour back home again) when I worked there. It was nice in the morning, you got that extra hour of sleep after a long day before. I could leave my house at 7AM and get to the park at 7AM. The down side was the commute back home and even more so after a long day. Leave the park at 10PM and get home at 12AM.

Son of Beast (RCCA), and now Giraffica (Intamin) have both been replaced by a beemer (rumor).

Parks are seeing the huge potential in these wonderful coasters. Wing or Dive coaster, plz.

Incredible job by the team at Holiday World - how many other parks have been this successful at allowing ZERO leaks ahead of time? I know it helps that they're not a GIANT park, but still...impressive.

They're like the LeBron of the amusement park industry.

I wonder if we will actually start to see track or steel arrive on site as soon as tomorrow? They did a lot of work to the right of the cam view today it appears... Right in front of that building and to the right.

Can we just take this time to appreciate how huge of a land mass this is? And it's right by the road so that everyone can see it!

And just to be clear, this is really the scale of the construction site. Massive.

^^They did say that they would make tonight's announcement before any certain type of construction began where we would be able to finally guess what's going in.

Also, this thread is absolutely assaulting my inbox right now, haha.
