Genx24 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Four indoor rides. Don't forget about Houdini. Oops. I always do. I've never actually been on that.
boldikus Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Sounds like you have a first to look forward to today. You should definitely do it.
chickenbowl Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Here's something interesting you don't see too often. Removed track pieces on El Toro's second hill. Carpenters are doing a little track work apparently. Photo from reddit
Canobie Coaster Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Great to see the park taking care of El Toro! Last thing I want is the American version of Colossos.
thrillseeker4552 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Last thing I want is the American version of Colossos. These were my exact thoughts. This is probably what Merlin didn’t do that allowed Colossus to go bad. Props to Six Flags!
El Toro_Ryan Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 I made that original post on Reddit lol god bless the Internet for all the lightning quick sharing! There’s some more work going on at the bottom of the turnaround. The piece of track covered by the white tarp is also being worked on.
boldikus Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 LOL! Guys its 19 degrees right now ("feels like 7"). They started up Nitro and Green Lantern. Edit: and now Superman. I love this park. But I wonder what's up with Batman? This is the time it really shines.
Genx24 Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Here now. Nitro was running very well for it being 20° out
coasterbill Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 (edited) I hate to say it but I have a sinking feeling the B&Ms might be done for the year. Throwback Thursday to three hours ago. Good times, good times. Looks like they heard you were talking sh*t. Edited December 28, 2017 by coasterbill
boldikus Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Let's see how long they last today. And what's up with Batman?
Jason Maier Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 So I'm scoping out the forecast for my possible trip (either Saturday or Monday) . . . . Saturday - High 28; Low 15 (snow showers) Monday - High 20; Low 8 (sunny) Wowsers!
Jcoaster Posted December 28, 2017 Posted December 28, 2017 Just got back from he park and let me say that its a trip riding Ntro in 18 degree weather. We stayed for about 2 hours and rode Nitro twice, Justice League, Dark Knight, Green Lantern and Harley Quinn. Batman was closed as well as Joker. We skipped out on Skull and Superman. On another note The Pecan Pie Cider was awesome.
Genx24 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 As mentioned, I was at the park this afternoon. It was brutally cold, but that didn't stop the park from running Nitro, nor me from riding it. Also rode Justice League, which seemed to last longer than usual. Whether it was running more slowly, or it just seemed that way, it was nice to be in a heated building. Nice day to close out the 2017 season.
boldikus Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 So are we placing wagers on what's going to run/not run today? Projected high is 26, a good bit warmer than yesterday. It'll be around 22 @ opening.
coasterbill Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 I'm going with everything but Big Wheel and Joker. But I'm also popping in today so I'm injecting a bit of my own optimism into that.
boldikus Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Nice! We'll need the full play-by-play. You better bundle up!
Jcoaster Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 I will say oddly enough yesterday was the best ride i’ve ever had on Green Lanterm in 16 degree weather
coasterbill Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 I will say oddly enough yesterday was the best ride i’ve ever had on Green Lanterm in 16 degree weather Makes sense. One of the first stages of frostbite is numbness so you probably couldn't feel the hilariously excessive amount of headbanging or awful, throbbing leg pain.
boldikus Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Bill I think you should ride it today to see if that theory stands up. Come on, do it for science.
boldikus Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Even if its the only B&M open (which is a very real possibility)?
coasterbill Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 Then we'll be playing truth or dare with this sign.
Genx24 Posted December 29, 2017 Posted December 29, 2017 All jokes aside, GL was actually running very smoothly yesterday. It's still a garbage ride, but there was no headbanging to speak of.
