Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom Discussion Thread

This is one of the rare times I'll be rolling alone at a park, so I assume they're going to pair me up with some family that's suddenly going to hate their lives on the flume?

 

No. They don't pair people at Dorney. Not only is there nobody else to pair you with but it's not their policy anyway.

 

We always joked about forcing people to ride together on Thunder Creek Mountain. Believe it or not there were a few days during the 2015 season where we had to group on Demon Drop, but grouping isn't done on TCM because of the "crotch party" issue with that ride. Nobody wants a strangers knob on their back.

 

Crotch parties are mandatory at Great Adventure. They love a good crotch party.

As long as it's during the day it is relaxing. I took a solo ride on it after close once, it was just creepy. So quiet, so dark, empty train on steel force goes barrelling through the helix right as I passed it. It was just... weird and creepy.

I'm very intrigued that many of Cedar Fair's smaller parks (Valleyfair, Worlds of Fun, Dorney Park) all have announcements lined up soon. I can't help but think that all 3 of them are receiving something similar.

The last time the park made an announcement this year was with snake pit. So I wonder if something 'big' is coming. Like a flat ride (even though Cedar Creek flyers were an end of November announcement) or water park expansion.

Well... Got to the park around 9:15 and finished everything by 11:30. I'll probably post a TR later on but I may as well have just gone to Great Adventure (or even better, gone way out my way to Kennywood again). On the bright side--dining plan Chickies and Petes is so much win.
