DP Haunt has a Twitter and they posted some shots of the new haunt facade. They say Haunt announcements are August 25. That's a month away. So we won't know the name or theme of the new haunt until then? Or is it possible someone could leak something? Also, what is happening with Asylum and MHH? Are they getting redone this year, and will Asylum have a new name or theme since they took the Asylum letters down from the facade? Anything else new this year, or is that basically it? An idea, since Cornstalkers is no longer on the service road between WWK and DP and the path toward Thunder Canyon, they could bring back the Cedar "Freak" Cannonball since the crossing by WWK is no longer occupied by Cornstalkers.

Usually for a leak to occur people would have to care enough to spend a few minutes looking for additional information. Since nobody cares I doubt anyone would spend time looking into it.

Asylum will get a new name but will still have the Asylum theme according to someone who works for haunt. It will be different. For Mansion House Hotel, it will be getting renovations this season so it will not be leaving.

Where will the photo spot be this year for Haunt? For the past four years, it was at Desolation, before that, at MHH. The facade for the new haunt replacing Desolation looks kind of like it could be a two story building facade with a second level balcony, but I'm not sure. Are they gutting out the inside, too since the Desolation theme is no more and creating a whole new maze layout inside? Also, will it be extended out the back not just in the building? The building by itself is quite small. I wonder if DP has a gag order on what the new names are for Asylum and former Desolation until announcement day August 25? I was hoping they would redo Asylum into something new, will the maze layout inside be changed or is it just a refresh/repaint and other minor improvements? What is being changed inside MHH?

^I love park days like that. One good thing that I can always say about Dorney is that the lines have never been long on the times I've visited.

 

Steel Force's non-air, magnetic, air gates really confused me though . I felt quite "special" when I couldn't figure out why they weren't opening..

Desperation and disbelief will do that. Allentown is the third largest city in PA, there's roughly 100k people living in the area. There's a lot of people that want something new, Cedar Fair just won't oblige.

Corporate has to decide: Do they put money into a park that the locals don't visit? Do they park money into parks that are well supported by the community?

 

Why should corporate support a park if the community does reciprocate? What level of support is needed to bring in additional revenue? What level of support is needed to maintain revenue? What are the dynamics of competitors?

 

Those are the questions Cedar Fair must struggle with every day.

Or could it be South Whitehall that won't oblige? They are pretty stricken with what Dorney can and can not add. The park had to do a lot for S.W to give the okay to add possessed.
