Thank you very much. That's exactly what I was thinking of but I never noticed that button before. I only checked the buttons on the list of topics and not within the topic itself. Sorry about that.

I do remember a post a while back about somebody not being able to find the dropdown box for the page numbers. I'm just not able to find that post at the moment.

Anyway these boxes are now back again.

Hope you like them.

we've also added some extra fields to the user profile. You are now able to save your facebook, twitter and other links in your profile and new/fancy looking buttons will show on the left side under your name when you do.

I tried to post a link earlier today and it showed up as text. I posted a link one other time since the upgrade with no problem. I have also noticed that the "first unread post" button is skipping over some of my unread posts and starting me off later in the thread.

Every once in a while a bunch of icons will show up in one spot. Here's what it looks like.

Have you tried cleaning your cache/history and cookies for your browser(s) ?

Every time I log in, I click the "log me in automatically after each visit" button, yet, it doesn't do that when I return. It's no big deal, it just shows how lazy I am.

If you hit the logout button when leaving the forum this would be normal behaviour.

If you just close the browser and start browsing other things.. this should not happen.

If it's the last option that is happening to you... please clean/clear all cookies/history and cache files in your browser(s) and let us know if it helped.

Hey Robb (or anyone who works on the site), is it possible to get a little marker on threads that we have posted in? Another forum I'm on has that and it's a godsend because often times I forget about posts that I've made and if someone has made a response to my post that I want to respond to, I never get around to it just out of forgetfulness. I realize you can review all your old posts on your profile, but marking threads that you've posted in makes that a lot easier. No big deal if you can't. Thanks!

If you look up a little there's a text called "View your posts" if you click that it will give you a list of topics you have posted in...

Another option would be to use the "Notify me when a reply is posted" for topics you want to be updated about...

hope this helps

^Yeah I know you can go back and look at a list of posts you've made, I'm just saying it's helpful when you're actually in the forum and can instantly spot threads you've posted in without having to go search for them. It's just a nice feature of another forum I post in and I don't see it in very many other forums.

Those 2 lists are not the same, and if you knew that then in my opinion its quite lazy to be complaining about one extra mouse click.

I have a bit of a question, is there a way so that the forum marks every topic as "read" every time you exit the browser (like it did before), so that you know exactly what have been posted since the last time you visited the forum?

Yes, I know that there is a "Mark forum read" button, but I'm lazy and forget to push it daily...

Other then that I say, Great work with the TPR forum overhaul!!

Huh...I'm not sure that was an actual feature of the old forum as mine never did that!

I had the same thing, In the old version when you exited the browser, if you hadnt read all the topics it just marked them all as read. I used to hate it because if you hadnt been to TPR for a few days, i used to have to make sure to alot an hour or 2 to sit down and read everything. Now whatever you havent read stays as unread.

If you want to mark everything as read theres a button at the top of the page that says mark all topics as read and that clears it all out.

^ Actually, I think I know what was causing this.

If you logged into the forum from a different IP address it would not remember the session you have previously and wipe all of that clean.

For example, at work we do not have a static IP address so my IP is constantly changing. Thus almost every time I would re-fresh the page, it would not remember what threads I viewed or didn't view and mark everything as read.

The new forum doesn't do that as we have so many people that don't have static IPs.

There would also be a problem on the old forum where if you were in the middle of uploading a photo trip report, for example, and your IP changed, you'd lose everything.

This new system fixes that.

ps. Did anyone notice we added back the "users browsing this topic" feature?

If you look again, I wasn't complaining at all, I was just making a suggestion. I even said at the end of the first post I made about it that it wasn't a big deal if it didn't happen. But thanks for the unconstructive criticism.

I love the new forums Rob! My only comment would be the "Online" banner that comes across the one corner is kind of distracting. If there was a way to change that into just a small "light" (I guess is the best word) that was either on or off indicating if the member was online, I think that would be a small improvement.

Overall, fantastic upgrade!

Yeah, it's actually one of the minor things that's on our "to do" list. The alternative actually looked worse so we decided to keep it as it is for now.
