Hattuchili
^^^ LOL, nice beer PTR, Ted. At the moment I am ill at home, my throat hurts so much! So, that means no beer for me in the next days! --Sören
FlyerACE1
Naked Fish is awesome stuff, Heath! We had some a few years ago at the Post Eastcoaster Party when Walt brought some up. Unfortunately, because they moved Eastcoaster ahead a week, we missed out on it again this year. If they bottled that stuff, I'd be having it all the time! Yeah, I'm realing digging the Naked Fish. It's probably one of my favorite DuClaw selections now. It's so good, that I think I'm going to head down there on Sunday and pick up another growler full. Allrighty, the Troegs Nugget Nectar has finally hit stores, so I picked up a six pack to see how it differed from what I tasted in the brewery sample room the other week. Surprisingly, it was quite different. At the brewery, it had a very citrus taste but was not very hoppy. In the bottle, it is the complete opposite. Some nice citrus accents with a big hop bite. As a matter of fact, this is probably the most hoppy beer I've experienced from Troegs. Which makes me very happy. Just stopped by the local beer heaven and picked myself up a 6-pack of Troegs Nugget Nectar. I'm getting my hop face ready. I just couldn't pass it up! I actually stopped in for a 4-pack of Heavyweight Brewing Company's CinderBock, a favorite of mine from last weekend. Hmmm...what to have on my birthday tomorrow?? DerekRx
Its the weekend, and I have almost 2 hours until my night out begins. Thats 2 hours more than I should have to wait for a beer on a Friday night. So, since I'm home, and pretty much ready to go, why not! Its not going to be as beerrific as last weekend, but it IS supposed to snow like 6-8 inches here, so I have nothing else to do but drink and drink some more Victory Hop Wallop, saving the HopDevil for the lil lady
Pelydr
No beer tonight for me, sadly. However, I do have a bottle of Beefeater, so at least I should have a good time!
saturday97
I went up to Park City for dinner, and one of the more liberal establishments had Sam Adams, so I had a couple of those and I feel whole again!!!!
DerekRx
Derek presents: "My night out!" Since The Works has gotten to be super smoke-filled with slow wait service, we decided to move down the street to the Viva Good Life Lounge. And WOW, what a difference! (At least in beer selection) The finest of the Lambic ales. I'm punching out for the night. Its time to call it a night, but first, some dessert beer! One sip too many, and now I'm in hell I must be in heaven OMG, this place not only has Rogue and Victory, but it also has Stone IPA. Are you sure I'm not dead?? Dave says "talk to the Hand" because his Molsen told him to One of our finest nurses, Cindy, has clearly had 1 too many Long Island Iced Teas Ok, starting to feel slightly pale, coming down with the "flu" Next up, Flying Fish Extra Pale Ale, good in those winter months when we're extra pale from lack of sun Yeah, I's be happy, living guy holding a dead guy Started out with a Rogue's Dead Guy Ale, can't beat that! I've been wanting to try the CinderBock. It's one of a couple of Heavyweight offerings that I've been tempted by recently. I'll have to put it on the short list. Tried another new one that just came in this week. The Sierra Nevada 2006 IPA. This was a decent IPA but I think that in the future if I'm going to think Sierra Nevada and hops, I'll go with the Celebration. Sierra Nevada IPA 2006. Pretty much a step up from the pale ale. DerekRx
No plans for the day thanks to the snow. Looks like I'm at home drinking again! Rugged One
The latest stop from the Otter Creek World Tour series. Mexico, and the Cerveza Cacao. This had an awesome aroma and taste of cocoa, as it is inspired by the ancient Aztec drink: xocolatl. Whatever the case, it was damn tasty and helped warm me up after fighting the snow home from work. Where will the Otter go next....? The latest stop on the Otter Creek World Tour. The Cerveza Cacao. FlyingScooter
Arrogant Bastard Ale. Good stuff. I wish i hadn't forgotten that i took a few decongestants before i drank them... I figure I'll try a new beer every week. World Market has a ton of beers I've never even heard of before. Dang Good Stuff!

DerekRx
Still snowed in, still drinking. Tastes like Hudson River water mixed with Brooklyn lager So what does Brown taste like? Smells like bad What exactly DOES brown smell like? I decided to try a new beer, the Brooklyn Brown Ale The outside looks like the picture on the bottle! DerekRx
After barely being able to drink that awful thing, its time to have a brown ale that I know is good! Now THAT is more like it! Rugged One
I would like to introduce the newest member to our family. Our new beer cooler! Kim was getting more than a little annoyed by all of the beer slowly taking over the fridge, so we decided to get a dedicated one to hold all of our tasty libations. I didn't have room to fit all of my stuff but enough to at least hold all of the chilled ones. I had to keep the 22 oz bombers in the regular fridge. Hopefully with a buddy of mine coming into town next weekend we'll clear enough room to fit them in by Monday. One nice feature is the little shelf in the back that I can fit 14 "shorties" on. Definitley helps save some space. I didn't count how many bottles I fit in there but it sure seemed like a lot. Our new beer cooler. Now Kim can have her fridge back. Rugged One
To celebrate the new home for my beers, I cracked into a little something from the Middle Ages Brewing Company. The Wailing Wench. I actually wasn't sure specifically what kind of ale this was when I bought it, just that it was supposed to be hoppy. Turns out it's a rather hoppy amber ale. Tasted very similar to the Rogue Dead Guy Ale and trust me, that's a good thing. Gee, what a novel concept to sell a bottle of beer. A big set of hooters. Heh, it worked for me! waterviper
^ Hehe I got me a wench too. But this one is St. Pauli Girl!! Special Dark! Everyone should enjoy a wench every now and again!!
DerekRx
No wench for me tonight, but I do have a fish, and some head! DerekRx
Finishing off the night with some Storm King I could only be happier if the Pope was ice skating on TV for our enjoyment I could probably do a Car Bomb with one of these, but why waste good beer in a chug? There's a reason why its called "King"

Rugged One
Thanks to the recommendation of Adam the other day, I decided to check out the Cinderbock from Heavyweight Brewing. I really dig lagers and this one had a lot of interesting things going on with it. It had some nice malt and fruit flavors but the thing that really stood out is the smoke flavor that is present. Almost like a smoked meat flavor. Very unique but not unpleasant. The Cinderbock from Heavyweight Brewing Company. That goat is smoking for a reason. I really dig lagers and this one had a lot of interesting things going on with it. It had some nice malt and fruit flavors but the thing that really stood out is the smoke flavor that is present. Almost like a smoked meat flavor. Very unique but not unpleasant. Nice choice, man. Glad you enjoyed it too! The smoke is very prominent in this beer and next to a smoked wheat from Bullfrog Brewery that I tried at the Split Rock Festival a few years back, this is my favorite of the style. Not a lot of people enjoy a smoked beer but I love them (especially complimented by some German food). We definitely have similar tastes in beer. The photo of your new beer fridge had me drooling! We're definitely a couple of hop heads for sure. Speaking of hops, I need to make a side by side comparison of the Troegs Nugget Nectar with Victory Hop Wallop. I think I prefer the latter. By the way, I'm really keen on these Heavyweight Brewing guys. So far I've been very impressed with the two I've tried: Cinderbock and Lunacy. DerekRx
Tonight I took my mom out for her birthday/Valentine's Day to some foofoo fancy restaurant in the city. I ended up having some sort of sweet italian sausage in some cheese something or other with a corn whatchamacallit, followed by some dijon spiced pork tenderloin in a marsala wine demiglaze. But the highlight of the night would have to be the Victory Hop Devil on tap! So I started out with one of them, and followed it up with a Legacy Hedonism, which wasn't as bad as I was led to believe a few weeks ago. It was a pretty hoppy Irish red ale, though there wasn't much of a finish until the hops really killed your pallete. Mound of pork in marsala with some broccoli and mashed taters The Hedonism was a very hoppy red ale. Better than I expected, though no HopDevil! Random sausage thing with my HopDevil Oh sweet HopDevil, will you be my Valentine?

Rugged One
By the way, I'm really keen on these Heavyweight Brewing guys. So far I've been very impressed with the two I've tried: Cinderbock and Lunacy. Heh, that's why I post in here. To get idea's from other beer drinkers on what to try next. I really dig the Heayweight beers. They brew some really unique stuff to say the least. So far from them, I've had the Lunacy, Cinderbock, and Perkuno's Hammer. I'm hoping to try the Stikenjab and Baltus as well sometime soon. My local place also got the Old Salty in but I'm not a huge fan of barley wines. As for the Nugget Nectar Vs. Hop Wallop, the jury is still out. I need to try a few more of the Nectar's to give it a fair comparison. As for tonight's selection, I went with the Troegs Oatmeal Stout. I really ejoyed this one at the brewery and it was darn tasty out of the bottle as well. This is what I would call a rather "drinkable" stout compared to some other locals like Victory Storm King and Stoudts Fat Dog, witch can put a whooping on your tast buds if you aren't ready for it. This one is very smooth with a creamy, coffee taste. The Troegs Oatmeal Stout. Yet another great offering from the Trogner Bros.
