willthegolfer
Here's a shot from this morning, a crane is clearly visible on the right side by the station.
GoBears
I think they forgot to bring the big crane today...
willthegolfer
One stack of bents is being lifted by the crane!
GoBears
Are they transferring the bents from that one wooden platform where they assembled them over the to side so they can remove that wooden platform and start building the right side of the overbanked turn there? ytterbiumanalyst
^That actually reminds me of how they got two big coasters within a 2 year period! And remember in 2010, they got Little Dipper, which in my opinion is a very important acquisition, to save a great coaster that otherwise would have been scrapped. Little Dipper may not be as big or impressive as Goliath, but for a segment of their audience, it's their favourite coaster--and that's worth holding on to. I'm actually equally excited for getting to ride LIttle Dipper and Whizzer with my daughter for the first time. I like new experiences, and Goliath and X-Flight will be new experiences for me, but nothing beats being with a kid on a new experience for them. Ed Farmer
I've been wanting to get back to Chicago since X-Flight was built, but the last couple of years plans have fallen through. Now with X-Flight and Goliath both, we're going to have to make this happen. I would advise you to ride X-Flight first.

rcjp
Now that's starting to look more composed. Just imagine how tall the finished ride will look!
willthegolfer
Here's some new pics from rcdb. As you can see, the track is being painted, but the track appears to be for the twist and shout, not the overbank. I'm really liking the track color. rcjp
^Is the track going to be red? Like on RMC hybrids? I surely wasn't expecting that.
willthegolfer
It looks like a dark orange, almost a cross between the IRAT and NTAG colors, looks great though!
rcjp
^Yeah red/orange/dark orange, whatever. I'm guessing this is the first wooden coaster like this.
GoBears
Looking at that 2nd photo really shows how narrow this space is, especially once the first drop and zero-G stall bents go up. I still can't believe people complained that the ride should be longer when it was announced because "there was enough room for the ride to wrap around again" or "they could have made it longer". They are literally using every bit of space they have width wise. It's going to be a great coaster! As far as the colors go, it does appear to be a dark orange color. I like it. GoBears
Another thing I was wondering, how were these photos even taken? Possibly from a camera drone. I know the park owns a quadcopter one.
CMV
I'm pretty sure Duane from RCDB has one. He posted some pics from over Hades 360 on his Twitter back in June.
willthegolfer
^ That's who the photos are credited to on rcdb.
GoBears
I'm pretty sure Duane from RCDB has one. He posted some pics from over Hades 360 on his Twitter back in June. Yeah, Duane Marden has one. He probably just got permission from the park and took his own shots then.

NAMTABSFGAm
NoCoasterCon 2014 This is all from DejaVu2001 on SFGAMworld, so all credit goes to him. Entertainment Reflections: Sights and Sounds of the 60's will be returning to the Grand Music Hall Six Flags - Grand Finale new night time show and parade. The preshow will use most of the igNight set. The only thing being removed is the runway. Pictorium is TBD Goliath Opening May 24th Media Day May 22nd Private ride time for No Coaster Con attendees 12:00-2:00am on May 23rd Thrill Seekers will be the Goliath merchandise location. This sounded like a new building, but it wasn't entirely clear Goliath Snacks will be replacing Wolf's Den Events Coasterfest Memorial Day weekend. No details provided about what this is. 4th Fest Coasters After Dark June 13th and August 10th New Labor Day Weekend festival Fright Fest September 27th-November 2nd. 6 weekends, 6 haunted houses, 6 shows. At this time, nothing is known about any rides at our park adding seatbelts Pictures I apologize about the quality of some of the pictures. Unfortunately the event was set up in an all tables configuration this year which was a really stupid move in my opinion and made getting shots harder. yay101
Noooooooooooo I'm supposed to be going for Physics class in March or April and Goliath won't be open then! Oh well... Actually I'm glad Goliath construction and everything is going well! Even though we all prefer speedy construction, I'd rather they take their time and make everything just right rather than to rush the construction. tarheel1231
Wow! I really like the new concept art for Goliath. Especially the sign! This Goliath should be more unique than the others.
