^The Southwest Territory amphitheater is set aside for salat during Muslim Family Day.

With the park claiming it will be the 5th B&M at the park, is Great America planning on keeping Iron Wolf?

Posted (edited)

^ Sure, as long as it lives on!

Iron Wolf is actually a really good ride if you don't mind a bit of roughness. It's got grey out forces, a bit of airtime, and a really nice layout.

I would prefer the park to keep IW, maybe spruce it up a bit or get some new trains. But that's probably not going to happen If Chang gets approved on this last meeting.

^ That is correct.

The park's PR lady told the press that they were still seeking expansion, they are just not going to appear at THIS board meeting.

Some confusing stuff indeed.

Sadly, No. These meetings are public, and must be posted publicly. The fish's out of the bag already, so I don't see why they don't just get the variance just in case.

I remember a storage shed bay was covered/boarded up at SFKK. Did Chang in it's latter time there run with only two trains? Will it run with three at SFGAM and where is this third train? Do they have to get a new one?

The ride was built to be capable of handling three, but only two trains were ordered for the ride. It never had a third train.

Rumor now is that Chang will be taking the place of GASM at SFGAdv. That might explain why SFGAm is no longer on the agenda.

Huh. If it holds out to be true, I'm alright with it. While Chang would make a great addition to the lineup at Great America, the park deserves something new.

Does this mean there is a possibilty we get a Mack megalooper instead?

But really, I hope that we DON'T get Chang.

We could use the space for something much more useful anyways...

A Blue Fire clone, perhaps?

But yeah, we could totally use that space much better without Chang. In my opinion, the park would seem a lot more crowded in the front with Chang, and the possibility of a HH expansion seemed promising. Oh well, we'll know soon enough what's new for 2011!

If this new rumor is true, then it sounds pretty great to me. Chang just seemed like such a bad fit for the park, especially in a location that is prime water-park real-estate. I do still hope to see Iron Wolf gone soon .. That poor ride is years past it's used-by date.

This Chang news is definitely surprising and I actually hope that it will happen. It looks like Al Weber is changing things up in management and is re-evaluating what parks need and what they'll get.

In other news, the Karate Kid ads on Whizzer are no more. They have been replaced by ads for the movie the Grown Up. The new ropes course is called Sky Trail and is $7 for one climb and $10 for two. It seemed fairly popular.

If/when FMP liquidates SF should pick up Time Machine and plop it at SFGAM.

Ha, I was thinking the exact same thing. It would be a perfect fit for the park.

If anything, maybe they'll re-route HH's entrance so that's it's closer to the park's entrance. Although I see their reasoning, I've never been a fan of the waterpark's random entrance.
