Has the park officially announced Chang? If it has, where could I find that information? I know a lot of things point to the fact that we are indeed getting it, however I refuse to believe anything until an official announcement has been made, even if it's months from now.

No they haven't. And although the pieces are there, you just never know. It could be the only place they can store it. Not likely, but again, You never know.

^ Right .. With SFGAm being just 6 hours from SFKK, and having virtually endless space, it makes more sense that they're just storing the ride here. If they end up building Chang here, then fine .. but it still seems extremely unlikely to me.

^However, with SFSTL being closer with more available space to store and/or build the ride, I think it is likely that SFGAM will end up building Chang.

As I said before, I will still ride it, but I'd much rather see the park add a dark ride or some non spin-and-puke rides. Of course, having a major coaster added might end the "SFGAM is closing" rumor....although Dark Knight didn't do that.

Personally I am excited for this whether it happens or not. Nothing jacks up the offseason like a good roumor to discuss. As it is forcasted looks like 2011 is going to be a great coaster season! "New" coaster at our home park and "new" used unknown woodie still to speculated on not 2 miles from my door here in green bay. I am excited. Too bad it will be a year and a half before i can ride any of it!

On another note as far as the above post from our new friend with poor grammer. I am going to go out on a limb and not only welcome him to the site but also believe him. If he is who he truly was that high up on the ladder with deja vu, he may not exaclty be the "forum gurus" that we are. I have definatly seen other forum rookies that when it comes down to it are just happy to get their points out there.

Thanks for clearing everything up. It didn't occur to me that SF would ship Chang to the park for storage purposes. Then again, I did see remnants of Power Dive, Sky Whirl and Shock Wave in the employee lot after they were taken down.

i'm srooy for my bad grammar and i'm not the best speller too. i just what to tell people what i know and as for vu yes i've rode it 5,000 times from 2001 to when it closed and thanks for wellcoming me here LONG LIVE DEJA VU

Was playing around with Bing maps and Google maps and put this together. I think it makes a lot of sense. There was a little difference as far as the angle of the picture on google but the image was clearer and much easier to clear up. Some of the supports especially on the lift hill are a little jaded to one side instead of the upside down centered v that it truly is. Just a little fuel for the fire.

I think if this does happen too, I think HH will have a much more convenient entrance .

Kinda makes sense to me

One more post like that, and you won't be welcomed.

Please read the posting rules!

^ Yeah that fits pretty well. It's placement is just odd. I never liked any rides added to the entrance area.

^While it might look a little strange, I think it probably won't be too bad. It just might take some time to get used to.

I thought I read that the area was too small, but that does look like it would fit nicely. Having such a large coaster like Chang would also be a great view to be greeted with when you enter the park, similar to how Shockwave was.

There was always that little gate! On the bottom part of the go garts, there is a path that leads to the water park, but it was blocked off by the fence, but you could still move the fence out.

Maybe there will be 2 entrances to HH when this is done? I doubt they'll stop using the one they have now.

Edit: Superman doesn't look that bad being in the front. I like how there is somewhat of a tree divider there. But as in the picture, the lift goes over the Parking lot, it won't bother many. Mainly because you are high off the ground and it's too high up to notice the asphalt below.

If it is positioned that way, they will remove the asphalt or dump dirt on top of it. I think coasters look great at the front of the park. What seems wierd though is having a coaster in Carousel Plaza for the first time ever. I doubt they will add a 2nd entrance to Hurricane Harbor. The reason the entrance it where it is so that you are forced to go by games and merchandise loctations on your way to the water park.

^No worries. He posted the wrong link, its okay.

Here is some information from RCDB. Notice it says "in storage".

rcdb.com/4530.htm

Edit: Scroll down just a tad and it will say "unknown" on the list. Now, just because RCDB or Screamscape hinted that we are indeed getting Chang, doesn't mean we really are. I'm still waiting for an official announcement from the park.

Guys, and gals, remember that the ride could only be stored here like La Ronde's new coaster but at Great Escape. We are being over dramatic for this stuff, haha. I would think SFSTL is the closest park to SFKK? But I guess they had more room to store it at SFGAM.

And Disneylander, I know most of us would prefer a mega lite then a floorless Chang

Yea, I went opening day, freezing temperatures during the morning. Maybe up until 1, the puddles around the park were frozen. And then it snowed the day later. And maybe 100 people were in the park first day. It was EMPTY!

Opening in later April saves the park operation costs a little bit. April 3rd this year was really early.
