I gotta give it to SFGAm ...I have not one clue about what it is Which is really bothering me...I don't know if I should get excited or what!!! Because if i get excited watch it be a kiddie area or something like that....But I don't know if it's a launch coaster, Sky screamer or a Giga coaster (which would make my dreams come true)...Hey let me dream okay!!!

They're looking down the path so it could be a parade or a show. I'm just waiting for the 30th, it's just 8 to many days away.

SFGAm got the flagship 2012 addition for the Six Flags chain. I highly doubt that they will get anything of X-Flight's magnitude for at least two years.

At this point, I bet the main expenditures will be for SFFT, SFMM, SFNE, and maybe one more park. SFOT?

I wanna put my money on a Sky Screamer XL for Texas. Maybe they'll combine the kids areas into a Bugs Bunny World? The park doesn't have any Looney Tunes themed areas since the Go Karts replaced the previous kids area.

What would Great Adventures safari have to do with us getting a giga? Besides, if we were getting a giga the park would have to get a permit and they are yet to apply for one. Don't expect anything over 125 feet.

Maybe they are gonna pull a 2001 Instead of having 2 coaster in the same year. Just build them the year after the other!!!!

I vote for sky skreamer swing thing. Hasn't Six Flags gotten a package deal on those? I haven't ridden any of those, but I rode 2 Wind Seekers and loved them. Of course the Cedar Fair parks giant swings have double the capacity :/

But everyones very excited about the new 2013 attraction.

 

Recently, about two weeks ago, I was lucky enough to meet two PR employees at six flags great america and ask them questions. Their names are Brandon Bruce and Katy Enrique. If you've been looking at the teasers Katys actually the lady with the blonde hair in the videos and

If his name sounds familiar to any SFMM locals, he was the one who created the magic of the mountain museum. I'd love to see him bring something like that to Great America, it'd be a great compliment to Screams and Dreams (and probably more popular with the GP as well).

The park closed 3 hours earlier last night. Was supposed to be 9pm, but they closed at 6pm. We found this out as we came into the park at 5pm. There was a light rain on and off after 4pm; the storms cleared.

 

My friend spent 20 minutes on hold to be told by a Guest Relations representative that the park would "stay open until 9pm, rain or not." My friend Rob said the rep *insisted* they would NOT close prior to 9pm. So we drove up... blah blah blah.

 

Got home to find out they retro-edited the online park hours and changed the closing time to 6pm for yesterday. They did that a few weeks ago, too.

 

I mean, I can see closing an hour early, but 3 hours? They say "because of the rain" but what they really mean is "there aren't enough non-season pass holders in the park and we can't make any money." It's an integrity thing, it's getting old. "They're just season pass holders - we already have their money...." I don't like the way things are going. Like many regulars, I would rather pay $200 for a season pass and have a better run park.

 

There were still full trains going out on Raging Bull and Demon(!). Whizzer, Little Dipper, Ragin Cajun and other rides were closed.

 

However, the flash pass employees were still standing there, with nothing to do - not a soul in the queue. They say "they're employed by Flash Pass, not Six Flags" ... Yet, they sometimes try to assign seats; hold up the queue and let empty seats go when the lines ARE long. It's all a mess.

 

Money first, who cares about service. As much as I brag about and love my home park and coasters, this sort of thing gets old. I still love Great America, but sometimes I really wish Holiday World and Knoebel's were closer. The level of pure stupidity that six flags incorporates is sometimes hard to handle. And this is probably the best run park in the chain...

It rained all day. The sun didn't come out until close to 7:30. Closing three hours early is better than not opening at all, which they could/should have done considering the downpours for most of the morning.

 

Do some of you complain even when there's nothing to complain about???

The rain was on and off (at Six Flags Great America) when we were there starting at 5pm. It was a very light rain. Paying customers were riding rides and having a great time and the early close was a big disappointment to many of the people we came into contact with.

But it still really stinks. Especially after having being told specifically the park would stay open until 9pm an hour before the early closing was announced.

I've been to SFGAm over 20 times this year alone, and I have never seen that happen. On what ride do they let EMPTY seats go?! That's just crazy! If anything, it's the GP holding up the line in the station and they wait a train so they can ride with their friends (therefore, leaving empty seats untaken) but Flash Pass people don't assign seats on any coaster in the park.
